Welcome to Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation

For 50 years, Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation has been providing programs, experiences, and spaces that enhance the lives of people in our community. Kids have grown up playing in our parks and swimming at our pools, seniors have taken up new hobbies and explored Colorado on our trips, couples have tied the knot at our facilities, and countless people have incorporated our fitness classes into their daily routines.

We love sharing these special moments with you, which is why we take fun seriously. We are committed to offering quality programs and events for you and your family to connect with people, parks and play in Wheat Ridge.

Fun!

The Parks and Recreation Pathway will significantly update the City’s 2015 Park and Master Plan and guide capital improvement and programming for the next ten years.

The City of Wheat Ridge is committed to a future rooted in fun, and we’re inviting you to be a part of it! Your input is crucial as the City creates the Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation Pathway. “We’re partnering with the community and local stakeholders to develop a master plan that will shape the future of our parks, trails, programs, and facilities,” explained Parks and Recreation Director Karen O’Donnell.

The needs and wants of Wheat Ridge residents are the driving force behind the Plan. We are committed to ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard. A robust community engagement effort will take place this summer, including a statistically valid survey, pop-up engagements at local parks and facilities, input opportunities at several summer events, and an online engagement portal to collect ideas 24/7 throughout the summer.

Visit What’s Up Wheat Ridge at whatsupwheatridge.com/parks-and-recreation-pathway to learn more and make your voice heard through the idea wall, interactive map, and future survey opportunities.

Introduction to American Canasta

. $40 R | $45 NR

Canasta, played like Rummy, is often a nostalgic game for seniors, easy to learn, and it encourages strategic thinking Many people find Canasta easier than Bridge, so it might be a good starting point for seniors who have less experience with card games Unlike Bridge, enough of the game can be learned in 20 minutes for beginners to play confidently at their first sitting The cards themselves become instrument of enchantment, waving a spell of mental agility and strategic thinking With every meld and discard, players engage their cognitive faculties, sharpening their minds like a wizard’s wand Register by Oct 7 to let us know you are coming.

Purchase a $40 Res or $45 Non-Res, 10 swipe enrichment pass. Each time you come you will swipe your card.
