DINING

JASPER & AREA

BOLD NEW FLAVOUR Dining in Jasper always has its charm. From fine dining at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (right) to downtown classics like Something Else (p 97) or Kimchi House (p 96), and landmarks like Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen (p 96), there’s little room for improvement. But here are three new restaurants looking to make their mark on Jasper’s food scene. Jamaican Me Crazy The Spice Joint (p 97) brings the heat and flavours of Jamaica to downtown Jasper with their newly minted restaurant and café. Enjoy southern classics like jerk chicken sandwich, crab meat grilled cheese, and jerk BBQ pulled pork with cheddar and mozzallera. Touted as some of the best sandwiches in town, they’ll have you coming back again and again! Unique Style Three friends decided to open a restaurant highlighting the unique and diverse flavours of Indian Cuisine with a focus on fresh produce and local businesses. They opened Andaaz (right) to give back to the community and offer delicious, inspired food to locals and visitors alike. Meaning “unique style”, Andaaz embodies Jasper’s ability to come together to create something truly special. Diabolically Delicious While technically not new, Evil Dave’s (right) has moved to a new and improved location at 86 Connaught Dr. The restaurant now boasts a large interior dining space and a stellar patio for when the weather warms up. They’re still serving up their globally inspired menu that features local ingredients wherever possible. So stop by for some delicious food, a drink from their extensive wine menu, and take in the great new views! -TAYLOR JAINE
