mount washington State Park 52 acres atop the Northeast’s highest (6,288') mountain. World’s highest land wind velocity clocked here at 231 mph. Modern summit building; post office, snack bar, gift shop, restored Tip Top House. In the White Mountain National Forest. Reached by hiking trails, Auto Road or Cog Railway (both privately owned, fees charged). For those holding Golden Access, Golden Eagle, Golden Age or National Park Passes with Golden Eagle upgrade, parking is free. Crawford Notch State Park Along US Rte. 302, 12 mi. north of Bartlett in Harts Location. 6 miles of unspoiled rugged natural beauty in scenic mountain pass. Ideal for hiking, fishing, photography. Crossed by trails, some leading to incomparable views of Presidential Range. Dry River Campground; 30 tent sites. Scenic waterfalls. Flume and Silver Cascades visible from highway; Arethusa Falls, one of NH’s tallest, reached by a short hike. Picnic sites, visitor center. Plaque marks site of Willey House, a stopover for wagons traveling in the late 1700s. Samuel Willey, his family, and two hired men lost their lives here in 1826 in a landslide. 603-374-2272

Along the walk you will discover covered bridges, amazing waterfalls, a scenic pool, and incredible mountain views. Kids can crawl through and explore caves along the way. Zoom down 1000’s of feet of twisting, turning fun flying through the woods on the Mountain Coaster, zip on the Soaring Eagle while accelerating 700 feet down the mountainside on a suspended cable, arc high into the sky on the Giant Swing, race down the summer tubing hill, and enjoy lunch at the Meister hut after a scenic chairlift ride to the summit.
