Tsungon Ratna Menling Nunnery

This past March, 2022, a historical event took place. Ratna Menling Nunnery held its first GesheMa graduation cermony, for the first group of nuns to graduate and earn the GesheMa degree and title.

In 2002, His Holiness, the late 33rd sMenri Trizin began construction of Ratna Menling Nunnery, the only Bönpo nunnery ouside of Tibet.

The Nunnery was completed in 2010 and begain its 12 year academic GesheMa degree program with approximately 20 senior nuns.

In February 2021 His Holiness, the 34th sMenri In February 2021 His Holiness, the 34th sMenri Trizin titled the first five Nuns with the honorable title of Karampas. These women were the first nuns outside of Tibet to hold such title.

Because of Covid restrictions, the first historical ceremony was delayed and held March 2022 where the first five nuns received the degree and title of GesheMa.
