A Note from the Pastor We find ourselves praying that God will give wisdom to our doctors to diagnose properly the medical condition of a family member or friend. We also pray for wisdom for the leaders of our city, state, and nation. I have had many people voice the prayer that the Lord will give me wisdom as I lead our church. Wisdom is very important at some critical places in our lives. The writer of Proverbs 3:13 declares: “How blessed (happy) is the man who finds wisdom.” Want to have real happiness and joy in life? Start looking diligently for wisdom. One may ask: “Where do I start?” Good question! God’s answer is clear and concise. “The fear, reverence, respect for, honor of, obedience to, and love for God is the beginning of wisdom.” God is the beginning point and only Jesus can bring us to God. Trust Him to save you and if you are already saved, trust Him to lead you as you spend time in prayer and in His Word. In a world as dark as ours, we need this God-given wisdom and God is ready to provide it.

HOMEBOUND MINISTRY Homebound Monthly Meeting Homebound volunteers meet
the first Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Dining Room at our Whitesburg South Campus. They eat lunch and share with each other, report on visits they have made the previous month. Volunteers are often split into pairs or groups and visit members of Whitesburg that are no longer able to attend church because of physical difficulties. They also visit friends and family of members.
The Touch Ministry People involved in the Touch Ministry write cards to not only homebound members but also those who are in the hospital or have lost a family member to death. They write dozens of cards every month to reach out to the hurting in our area. The Meals Ministry Every Tuesday through Thursday, different restaurants in our area provide boxed meals for a few shut-ins that are delivered by volunteers to the homes of our shut-ins. These workers are faithful every week to invest time and gas money to this ministry. To become a part of this ministry, contact Dana at 256-7045678, ext. 279.

Raising Boys & Girls Seminar Sunday, September 30 4:30 - 6:00 pm Room 290
Parents, grandparents, church volunteers and caregivers of children ages 2 thru 18 can learn to connect better with their kids. As adults understand the differences between boys and girls, they can learn to use tools that will help them communicate, understand and relate to kids of all ages. Adults will also recognize that a positive adult example is one of the most important jobs they have. These instructor/video led sessions will be very equipping to adults.
