Meet Your

Advocate

Donna MacLeod Bray is the advocate, or APW for short, on the Western Isles

Hello,

WESTERN ISLES

My name is Donna and I live on the Western Isles with my husband, 4 teenagers, and our dog. I enjoy sporty challenges like Tough Mudder- which is a big obstacle course where you have fun and get all muddy- and the Kiltwalk. I started with Who Cares? Scotland in December 2020. I am extremely lucky to have this job and to work with loads of amazing young people. My friends are all really jealous! Being an advocate is so important because we make sure you feel listened to. We say what you want, to the people who make decisions in your life. I love seeing young people feel good about being in charge of what they want in their own lives and being happy. On the Western Isles we are starting to see young people and their families again. People loved the activities we ran across the summer, so we are starting a group to help people from all the schools become friends and have some fun together. Now that we can see more people again, I am so looking forward to catching up with all of the North Team in person, and hopefully one day I will make it to the Head Office in Glasgow to meet all the new people I work with – or maybe they could come and visit the Western Isles?!
