CCS MAGAZINE VOLUME 1, ISSUE 2
Publisher’s Notes Welcome back to CCS Magazine, the bastard child of Windlight Magazine, hijacked by the people of CCS, Community Combat System! And now, lest we forget, just a little recap as to why we've taken off with the good people at Windlight Magazine's pride and joy. As the winner of one magazine edition to be promoted by Windlight Magazine, auctioned off at the MadPea Celebrity Auction, we've decided to take Johannes1977 up on his very generous offer of creating our own personal magazine issue. The MadPea Celebrity Auction raised lindens to build a school for the beautiful children of Kenya, along with the Live & Learn Project, at the end of September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0OGLODOuh0 People come into SL for many different reasons, and I've been honored to have the opportunity to meet some of those who have the desire to make a difference in the lives of RL people. There are many paths, and this is the path that many of us have chosen. In this issue, Volume 1, Issue 2 we delve a bit more into the lands of CCS. We offer additional information regarding the sims, show a few pictures and poke a little into the motivation of those who create places for others to role play and fight. There will be one more Issue to Volume 1, due to the fact that 60 notecards does not equal 60 magazine pages! It equals 300 magazine pages! At this time, I'd like to take a moment to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday in whatever way that you celebrate. Season's Best Greetings, and thank you for helping create a world here where all people are valued and accepted, no matter how 'different' they may be. Now, sit back, relax, and look at the pretty pictures..... Stevie Basevi Poser Publisher & Editor In Chief

Redrum The smoke finally cleared and a city appeared as if from the mists themselves. It was a small city intersection from a once thriving metropolis that had been busy with window shoppers and bustling automobiles. The City Archives reveal little as to the development of this place, but records show signs of an apocalyptic event. A deadly battle between good and evil happened. The city is no longer inhabited by the human race, only those of an inhuman form once believed to be mythical creatures. Moans rise from the depths of the city, taunting those souls who are brave enough to enter. The bowels of the city disengage the walking dead, the ones that survived the cataclysm that devoured this land. Enter at your own risk, armed with the weapon of your choice. This is the only way to venture inward‌.. Where once humans played and frolicked daily battles are held. Lycans, Demons, Vampires, and other phantasms of the night engage in mortal combat for control of these streets. Visitors are met with weapons drawn, questions come later. It is a lawless and dangerous time, and for the unskilled a simple walk can be fatal. Redrum lives again!

Rem Rem is one of the oldest sims other than Lost Angels in CCS. The sim once belonged to the Family of Drakulas and specifically to Sweety Dollinger one of the founder of Drakulas Family, a very well respected faction in CCS. It's been in existence as a CCS sim for somewhere between seven and eight years. Metropolitan Resident, the owner of Rem, feels that CCS is best used in a manner that is balanced between being a role play tool and for combat. The people who most enjoy playing in her sim are those who enjoy mysterious role plays and lag free combat.
Malka
Malka has been a CCS sim since its inception. It was created to be a CCS Speed Delight recently gave us a little sim and was one of the very first sims to use that combat system. CCS is the background and information on Malka, which is owned by herself and only combat system that has ever been used in Malka. a fellow CCSer, Sexy Furse. Here's what she had to say: CCS combat is an enhancement to Malka was created as a new home for roleplay scenarios and not an end in itself. Ideally CCS combat should be an the Dark Malkavian clan, whose members suffered continuous abuse adjunct to roleplay and develop naturally in the course of events. and hostilities from the majority of That being said, there is no harm in players using a different combat setting up situations which will quite system. naturally turn into battles. Malka has Malkavians all suffer from some sort wild untamed terrain and wide open of insanity which has been passed to spaces with low lag that are well them through the vampires bite. The suited to combat on a small or large scale. origin of this insanity is Malkov himself, and this blood-transferred malady manifests itself in countless forms. There is no way to predict what form this insanity will take in any given individual, and there is no known cure.
Well defined characters and people who enjoy thoughtfully crafted roleplay are welcome to enjoy Malka as they see fit. The land, although rugged, is open and accessible to all. People who are interested in combat only will most likely not find what they are looking for in Malka though.
The theme of Malka is basically "Home of the Malkavian clan and its descendants". Although the Dark Malkavian clan has splintered and Thank you Speed! most of its former members have wandered elsewhere, the land of Malka remains, wild and untamed. Will the airborne central city of Malka ever be rediscovered?
Sirius ... The name of our sim is Sirius-A Realm Reborn. The backstory for Sirius is that is the homeland for a lycan of unknown origins named Natsuki. Natsuki returned to his homeland after a long period of time away to face down his father. During this period he left his wife,Shizuru, and daughter Candy in the land of Sanctuary for protection. After defeating his father and the military under his father's rule, he brought his family home to Sirius. Sirius, also known as the dog star is the brightest star shining in the skies over Sanctuary. My husband, Natsuki and I have been owned several sims in our 8 year CCS history. Our current sim, Sirius is just under a year old.
things creative. We welcome all types on our sim. For roleplay in particular it helps if people are open minded, tolerant, and creative. CCS and the role playing community as a whole attract all types of people, and it helps to be open and accepting of everyone. Styles of roleplay run the gamut. It is completely your choice as to what you will accept and invite into your own role play. It is helpful though, if you keep an open mind, and remember that you have the right to choose what direction you want your role play to go in. It is great to have experienced CCS players to bring in the old-school style that I love so much, and to help the new comers get acquainted with the system and the community. At the same time the new players are bringing a whole new style and element to the community that opens up new windows and ways of playing the game that helps the community grow as a whole. It is a unique community where one element thrives on the other, a circle of life one could say. The system is ever growing and changing in new and exciting ways.
For my husband and myself, we see CCS as a roleplay tool. The combat side of the system is just an enhancement to the many other ways CCS can be used. For me personally CCS is a creative outlet. It is a way for me to become another person, a different creature in a fantasy world, where I can create my own fantasy and live out scenarios I create myself, Submitted by Ashley Lundquist (Shizuru), and Papi Braveheart and weave other's stories into my own, It is a myriad playground for all (Natsuki), owners of Sirius.
