Welcome Windsor is committed to providing an environment that allows its Members to enjoy life to the fullest. As we head into some glorious spring weather in Florida, we are enjoying another busy season of Clubsponsored events and activities. Also woven into the fabric of life here are the myriad Member-sponsored specialinterest clubs and groups including the Windsor Wine Association, which now has more than 45 members. It is among the most active private club Wine Associations and continues to attract the attention of some of the finest wine producers in the world. To read more about the group and its events, turn to page 6. We have also enjoyed a number of sporting events and tournaments this season including an exciting exhibition match between tennis professionals Mardy Fish and James Blake. Please see page 3 for a recap of this great afternoon of professional tennis. Windsor is the perfect setting for equestrian pursuits and our program continues to grow in popularity, especially with our junior Members. The recent Equestrian Fiesta showcased the riding skills of our Members and equestrian staff and included a traditional Argentine cookout, known as an asado. We tell you more about this familyfriendly event on page 3. Windsor continues to hold a steady position in the market for sales of existing homes and homesites. Mardy Fish & James Blake
Take to the Courts at Windsor Although he had planned a comeback at the BNP Paribas Open in California, Fish says the Windsor exhibition match gave him a chance to get back in the game and allowed him to spend time with family and friends. The Vero Beach native is the son of Windsor’s Director of Tennis Tom Fish. During Blake’s 13-year professional career, he won 10 ATP Tour titles and was ranked as high as No. 4 in the world, becoming the first AfricanAmerican man to reach the world Top 10 since Hall-of-Famer Arthur Ashe. Competing for the U.S. Olympic team, Blake finished fourth at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He also was a part of the 2007 U.S. Davis Cup championship team. “It’s really fun to see the amazing things these great athletes can do with the enormous top spin and control they generate – all so effortlessly,” said On February 11, Windsor Members watched as two tennis professionals faced off in an exciting exhibition match on Windsor’s tennis courts. The final four games of the day went to Mardy Fish who beat James Blake 8 to 6.
Windsor Member Lee Fentress. Following the exhibition match was a cocktail reception and Q & A at Windsor’s Tennis Centre, where Fish and Blake discussed their careers and long-term friendship.
Both players have ranked in the top 10 worldwide in their careers. Fish reached a ranking-high of No. 7 in August 2011. He advanced to three major quarterfinals at the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and Australian Open and won the silver medal at the 2004 Olympics.

including group purchases, special pricing and secure storage in a temperature-controlled facility.
Also in February, Windsor was the starting point for a global tour by Hart Davis Hart Company, which specializes in procuring fine and rare wines. The Chicago-based company’s presentation focused on the state of the high-end wine market with a discussion on how to buy and sell at auctions. The Wine Association schedules a variety of events at Windsor such as the well-attended December wine tasting that featured three different wine producers and renowned Nantucket Sommelier Frank Hersey. Chef Becht served a selection of cheeses and figs while members had an opportunity to debate and vote on the wines. In addition to the recent Faiveley celebration, the Wine Association works with Zachy’s of New York to host a grand tasting of more than 40 wines, which then provides an opportunity for a group purchase to be stored in the Association’s cellar at Windsor. The final highlight is the annual dinner with superb wines arranged by Zachy’s. Windsor’s Director of Food and Beverage, Ralph Wagner, assists the group with his knowledge and contacts. Wagner also welcomes members’

suggestions for new wines to serve at Windsor’s two fine-dining restaurants and the wine selection available at the Village Store. “The Association members appreciate Ralph’s knowledge of wine and his efforts to expand the universe of wines Windsor Members have the opportunity to enjoy,” Mr. Zimmer said.
“We are proud to host some of the world’s finest and most interesting winemakers here at Windsor, where they can share their fantastic knowledge with our members and broaden our exposure to wines from all over,” said Mr. King.
Members of the Wine Association also organize trips to Spain, Napa Valley and other well-known wine-producing regions throughout the world, as well as popular festivals in Nantucket, Naples and other locales. The members are always happy to get back to Windsor, though, where the friends in
