Welcome I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and are looking forward to the approaching holiday season. At Windsor we have been busy planning for a variety of cultural and sporting events, including an exciting art exhibition opening in December at The Gallery at Windsor. Per Kirkeby: Echo of the Light features works by the internationally-acclaimed Danish artist including a selection of his paintings from the past 25 years. The exhibition promises to continue The Gallery’s long-standing mission to celebrate the leading artists of our time. Planning is also in full-swing for another spectacular Windsor Charity Polo Cup. This wonderful family-friendly event is recognized as the premier high goal charity polo match of the season in Vero Beach. Response to our chosen beneficiaries has been overwhelmingly positive. We are honored to support Alzheimer’s charities at both the national and local level and appreciate immensely the generosity of our supporters. Please see page 6 for event details. The site is being readied to begin construction on our latest developer offering, the Windsor Park Residences. These twelve residences have been met with much enthusiasm and we eagerly anticipate breaking ground. Less than half of the residences remain available. More details can be found on page 7 and at our website. As always, we look forward to welcoming new friends to Windsor and encourage you to stop by for a visit. Whether you are an art lover, enjoy world-class polo, or simply want to learn more about the community and the real estate opportunities still available, I look forward to hearing from you. To schedule a personal tour, please contact me at 772 388 8400 or 800 233 7565 or via email at betsy.hanley@windsorflorida.com.

Per Kirkeby to exhibit at
The Gallery at Windsor Per Kirkeby is a prolific artist with a career that spans five decades. He uses a wide range of different media and his paintings tend toward the abstract, often with veiled iconographic references to his native Danish landscape. Per Kirkeby developed a unique approach to abstract painting, gradually refining a vocabulary of images and a personal palette derived primarily from observations of the natural world. His ideas about landscape and his sensitivity to natural light and color are easily traced to studies at the University of Copenhagen, where he was a student in the late 1950s.
Often referred to as Scandinavia’s most highly acclaimed living artist, Per Kirkeby has created a body of work that is no doubt a reflection of all that he has seen and experienced. He is a masterful painter, but he is also known as a poet, sculptor and filmmaker. He has studied geology as well as art history, and has participated in expeditions to Greenland, Central America and the Arctic. The Gallery at Windsor is pleased to be presenting a selection of works by this admired Danish artist. Per Kirkeby: Echo of the Light is co-curated by writer and art historian Olivier Berggruen and Kadee Robbins, director of Michael Werner Gallery London. The exhibition will be privately unveiled on December 5 and will remain on display through April 29, 2016. “Windsor is delighted to exhibit Per Kirkeby’s work at The Gallery,” said the Hon. Hilary M. Weston, co-founder and Creative Director of Windsor. “We are honored to have such an important selection of his art on display and look forward to celebrating Per Kirkeby and his work.”

Windsor’s exhibition, Per Kirkeby: Echo of the Light, presents a selection of paintings and monotypes from the past 25 years. The selection, which begins with work of the late 1980s and ends with his latest monotypes, highlights Kirkeby’s continued interest in nature within the context of abstraction and mark making. The paintings on view are composed of a delicate balance of vibrant hues and carefully cast shadows engaging in a complex play of scale and spatial depth. The monotypes, including a body of work made last year, are a rarely exhibited medium of the artist’s oeuvre. Each monotype is a unique print. Technically executed in a way similar to his paintings, they allow Kirkeby a freedom and spontaneity in their production. Kirkeby continues to live and work in Copenhagen, where he was born in 1938. His works are found in many museum collections including the Tate in London, Centre Pompidou, Paris; Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art, both in New York. The Gallery at Windsor will be open to the public Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment.
