WELCOME We kicked off the season at Windsor with the debut of our redesigned guest accommodations in the Village Centre and now we will be showing off these lovely Suites with a tour event on April 12. Participants will be able to walk through the Windsor Suites, attend a book signing with our designer Alessandra Branca and enjoy an alfresco lunch at the Pergola. Please see page 7 for details. We are delighted about our first exhibition in collaboration with the esteemed Royal Academy of Arts of London, UK. Beloved British artist Grayson Perry opened a site-specific exhibition Making Meaning at The Gallery at Windsor in January. This thought-provoking exhibition featuring major works in ceramic, tapestry, sculpture and etching is the first threedimensional exhibition in The Gallery’s history. Perry’s work is on view through April 27. See Page 6 for more details on the exhibition. There was much excitement in the air before and after the biennial Windsor Charity Polo Cup held in February. We were thrilled that international polo star Nacho Figueras joined the already prestigious lineup of world-class players for an event that was even more successful than our previous Polo Cups, with an attendance of about 2,000. A recap of this spectacular day can be found on page 7. In this issue you will find a variety of homes and homesites currently on the market. Now is a wonderful time to visit, take a tour and experience the vibrant lifestyle Windsor offers. To plan a visit, please contact me or either of our Sales Associates whose contact information is included below.

ARCHITECT SCOTT MERRILL ON DESIGNING THE WINDSOR PARK RESIDENCES Vero Beach architect Scott Merrill has designed a number of award-winning projects during his career. The firm, Merrill, Pastor & Colgan, has worked in London, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and many other international sites, designing everything from multifamily and single-family housing to a church, hotels and mixed-use projects such as Windsor’s Town Centre. Windsor’s Town Centre is entered through an enchanting allée of live oaks and situated at the convergence of five roads. Merrill also describes this spot by saying this is where the countryside gives way to the informal urbanism of the neighborhood's streets. The eight buildings of the Village Centre were sited to achieve several objectives including making movement through the site interesting and enjoyable, according to Merrill. The firm is currently completing the Windsor Park Residences, a collection of 12 residences within five connected three-story buildings with central gardens and a beautiful private reflecting pool courtyard as its centerpiece. We recently talked with Scott about his early work at Windsor and his involvement in Windsor's latest developer offering: Question: How did you first become involved with Windsor? Answer: I worked on the master plan with Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company (DPZ) in 1989 and moved to Vero Beach to help get the project started in 1990. I worked on a number of early projects like the sideyard house, the rowhouses and tennis cottages so that it would be clear what the architectural guidelines were meant to encourage. Q: You are currently finishing up the Windsor Park Residences. What did you (and Windsor) want to achieve with this project? A: Windsor has been trying to figure out the best way to use this land for some time now. They have studied a number of different programs and residential types, and different lot configurations. Several years ago Windsor had a small competition to solicit suggestions for site planning the property. The project as it is being completed is substantially the same as our competition entry. The value of the property lies so much in its long views toward the Indian River Lagoon, but there is a small park across the street with single family houses around it, so in addition to taking advantage of the river views, the project needed to present a nice aspect and residential scale to the park and the existing houses. The residences are accessed and serviced from the east so the equipment and the parking courts and garage doors had to be hidden because there is no service alley as you would have in the village. The aggregate configuration takes advantage of the river views but it treats the east views as being equally important, so a site with no obvious service side is laid out to reflect the importance of all four property lines. Q: What has been the most rewarding part of this project? A: We were allowed to plan the park across the street and incorporate it into the overall site plan, and it was gratifying to be able to provide a series of semi-public gardens up the middle of the site. Most everyone will be able to enter the block through these gardens and guests coming to individual residences can go through gardens rather than through the landscaped auto courts. The long off-site views were a given of a great site, but the interior gardens add a lot to any unit looking over them, and they provide additional oblique views of the mangroves and the lagoon. The central garden will be really nice and one of the few places in Windsor where you have a sense of the lagoon. The first national wildlife refuge, Pelican Island, is just north and west of the site and can be seen from upper residences. The middle building, which is set back from the western edge of the site, not only has great framed views west to the lagoon, but also great views of the park across the street. All residences have views in several different directions without any compromising of privacy between residences.
The Windsor Park Residences offer six floorplans and range from 3 to 5 bedrooms with spacious living areas, 10-foot ceilings and voluminous windows with views of the protected wetlands and full or partial views of the Indian River. Each residence includes multiple balconies and porches for the best of Florida indoor and outdoor living. With pricing starting under $2 million, the Windsor Park Residences provide a gateway to Windsor’s vibrant seaside lifestyle.

GRAYSON PERRY MAKING MEANING AT WINDSOR
Art enthusiasts who view Grayson Perry’s collection currently on display at The Gallery at Windsor will likely find themselves mesmerized. There is much to take in, question, wonder about and be challenged by. The celebrated British artist, also known by his female alter ego, Claire, uses the seductive qualities of traditional art forms such as bronze, ceramics, printmaking and tapestry. But he

The 57-year-old artist describes the huge tapestry as a “patchwork of Britishness.” It is embroidered with a sizeable portrait of the British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as stereotypical English phrases and oddities. You may scratch your head a couple of times as you study Perry’s work. But even work that is lost in translation can be appreciated. Windsor co-founder, the Hon. Hilary M. Weston, and Salvatore Ferragamo co-hosted the 2018 charity event. A world-class roster of international players participated in the match directed by Windsor’s Director of Equestrian Operations, Max Secunda. The highly skilled players were joined by International polo player and model Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras. An enthusiastic crowd cheered on one of the fastest and most exciting games in the event’s history. Team Pezuñas Caliente was the winning team with a final score of 9-8. Team Pezuñas Caliente was captained by Nacho Figueras and Team Falasiri was captained by Rodrigo Andrade. Lucas Criado was awarded Most Valuable Player and the Best Playing Pony went to Doble Dové, owned by Orchard Hill polo team and played by Lucas Criado. The sold-out field-side champagne luncheon was an elegant affair with more than 800 guests enjoying a delectable menu designed by Windsor’s Executive Chef Robert Meitzer. Attendance at the luncheon was double the number from the inaugural event in 2012. Other event-goers chose to picnic in the festive field-side tailgating area or to view the match from grandstand seating. The popular themed tailgate competition was judged by J.McLaughlin. The winner of the tailgate competition and a $500 J.McLaughlin gift card was La Tabla Food & Juicery. WINDSOR SUITES OPEN HOUSE ON APRIL 12 Situated in the Village Centre, the suites were comfortable, welcoming and convenient to Windsor’s amenities. But recently, Windsor co-founder, the Hon. Hilary M. Weston, partnered with renowned designer Alessandra Branca to execute an extensive redesign. Each suite now has a fresh and distinct design aesthetic that is in keeping with Windsor’s elegant style. The Windsor Suites are a collection of individually furnished guest accommodations with views of the gardens of the Village Centre, polo field and Windsor’s signature allée. Branca redesigned the suites in the spirit of a delightful guest room in the home of chic, well-traveled and thoughtful friends. The combined living and dining areas are grand spaces adorned with artwork from contemporary and emerging artists. Ms. Weston says the project was quite an undertaking for the entire team but she enjoyed it nonetheless. “I hope our Members and their family and friends are as pleased with the outcome as I am, and the experience of staying in one of these unique spaces adds to creating wonderful memories at Windsor,” she says. Branca was equally enthusiastic about the project, saying it was one of her favorites. The tour event will take place on Thursday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and tickets are $75 per person, with a portion of the proceeds supporting The Windsor Charitable Foundation. Participants will have the opportunity to buy a copy of Branca’s book, New Classic Interiors, in advance of the book signing. To purchase tickets, please visit windsorflorida.com/foundation or call 772 388 8380.
