WELCOME As we go to print with our summer newsletter, our nation is still grappling with the effects of a global pandemic and subsequent civil unrest. These are immensely challenging times and our hearts go out to all those adversely affected. At Windsor we took swift action to close facilities and we are thankful to all our Members who adjusted to the measures put in place to protect our Windsor family. The summer is now upon us and many Members who decided to extend their stay at Windsor are gradually heading to their summer locations. We hope for continued world recovery and a peaceful summer for everyone. As Florida reopens, we are cautiously commencing our summer projects throughout the community. One of those projects is the construction of a new 2,123-square-foot oceanfront Cabana Bar. This open-air casual dining restaurant will enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean and pool area. See page 10 for an update on our progress.

Windsor’s broad, multigenerational appeal has
treasured memories with friends and loved ones. With the national shutdown, so many of our cherished annual events were cancelled. The cultural season in Vero Beach was also cut short. In this issue we share with you information on some of the organizations and places that make Vero Beach such a desired seaside location. Our real estate office is staffed year-round and our Sales Associates are available to share details on the variety of real estate opportunities available. Onsite or virtual tours of all our properties can be arranged. Please contact our Sales Associates listed below to learn more about our offerings.
This gracious home overlooking Windsor’s iconic golf course offers two levels of outdoor spaces that have been designed to make the most of South Florida’s golden sunlight from sunrise to sunset. The flowing contemporary interior floor plan features an open-plan great room thoughtfully conceived to frame sweeping views of the fairways. An expansive courtyard with mature specimen palm trees enjoys southern and western exposures and offers a large lounge area with a firepit and a heated swimming pool. The airy ambience of the home’s interior begins in an impressively sized double-height foyer with an open staircase and oversized windows. In the great room and chefcaliber kitchen, sleek Wenge wood floor-to-ceiling cabinetry contrasts beautifully with tumbled travertine floors. The second-floor master suite is comprised of a bedroom and adjacent sitting room, each with a fireplace and both opening to a covered porch overlooking the fairways. Offered for $3,495,000.
Best wishes for the summer and I wish you health and happiness in the months ahead. Sincerely,

REMEMBERING CHRISTO MONUMENTAL ARTIST DIES AT AGE 84 We were saddened to hear about the May 31 passing of artist Christo Vladimirov Javacheff, who had made monumental art throughout the world. Christo, who went by his first name alone, died at his home in New York City. He was 84. With his wife and artistic partner Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon, he created a series of large-scale environmental artworks in urban and rural sites around the world. In December 2002, The Gallery at Windsor exhibited The Weston Collection of works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The Windsor exhibition showcased a significant collection of the artists’ works, including 39 preparatory works for the artists’ projects including Wrapped Reichstag, Berlin; The Umbrellas, Japan and U.S.A.; The Pont Neuf Wrapped, Paris; and Surrounded Islands, Biscayne Bay.
Christo, who was born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, and Jeanne-Claude, originally from Morocco of a French military family, seemed destined to live and create together, as they were born on the same day in 1935. Christo studied art in Sofia and in Prague. Jeanne-Claude studied Latin and philosophy in Tunis. They met in Paris in 1958 and went on to create an impressive body of large-scale, deliberately temporary works together. JeanneClaude died, aged 74, on November 18, 2009. Until his own recent death, Christo continued to make work under both the artists’ names. The news of Christo’s passing came as he was in the midst of one of his most ambitious projects to date. Christo had plans to wrap Paris’s Arc de Triomphe in nearly 270,000 square feet of fabric. The project is still expected to be executed in September 2021, according to the statement announcing Christo’s death. Surrounded Islands, Project for Biscayne Bay, Miami, Collage in two (2) parts,

VERO BEACH SOME OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO The high season in Vero Beach was cut short this year due to the global pandemic that caused many businesses to close their doors and cancel cherished annual events. As Florida cautiously reopens, we have decided to share with you some of the organizations and places that make Vero Beach such a desired destination. Windsor is just 20 minutes from the historic center of this charming seaside town on Florida’s Treasure Coast. Miles of peaceful beaches, beautiful parks and a quaint downtown filled with fine shopping and dining help contribute to this region’s “Old Florida” charm.
During season, the Vero Beach community is treated to the voices of world-class opera singers. Founded in 1988, Vero Beach Opera is a producer of operatic concerts, fully staged operas and international vocal competitions at various venues throughout the community. Annually, Windsor supports the Vero Beach Opera’s scholarship fund for rising young singers at its Broadway Meets Opera concert at Windsor's Town Hall.
Professional dance is not overlooked on the Vero Beach cultural calendar. In addition to staging performances by its own professional company, Ballet Vero Beach presents national and international dance artists, and offers educational and community engagement programs at various venues including onsite at Windsor with its Ballet at the Pergola performance produced exclusively for Windsor. Also, shops, galleries and restaurants in Vero Beach’s historic

artists, writers, poets and others who are passionate about the arts. The Vero Beach Museum of Art is a cultural treasure. This neoclassical structure features five art galleries, an outdoor sculptural garden and seven acres of park space overlooking the Indian River. Boasting a permanent collection of more than 880 works of art, the museum also offers world-class temporary exhibitions, outdoor jazz concerts and other special events year-round. The Riverside Theatre keeps audiences entertained each season with nearly 300 performances on two stages. Here you’ll find Broadway plays, musicals, comedy shows, concerts and lectures. With a strong focus on families, Riverside Children's Theatre offers classes, camps and theatrical training opportunities for all ages.

SHOPPING & DINING Vero Beach offers a variety of shopping and dining options to meet every need and occasion. Here are just a few that we like to frequent:
Locally owned stores and national brands are featured in Vero Beach’s muchadmired beachside shopping district of Ocean Drive. In addition to a collection of stores offering designer clothing, footwear, jewelry, antiques, homewares and much more, shoppers can relax at the many cafés, bars and restaurants interspersed through this charming shopping area. Located just minutes from Windsor on A1A, The Village Shops is a favorite stop for Members and guests. Beautifully restyled by Jay and Joan McLaughlin in 2013, The Village Shops offers a carefully curated collection of stylish boutiques and specialty shops complemented by local cuisine exemplified by the popular Citron Bistro. For more everyday shopping needs, the one-square-mile area known as Miracle Mile offers a selection of retail and dining options as well as the locally owned Vero Beach Book Center. Located on the mainland, the plaza also includes specialty and high-street names. Grocery shopping can be found at local delis and large supermarkets including Fresh Market. As we continue to navigate the reopening of our parks, cultural institutions, shops and businesses, always check websites for opening times and available programs.
