It’s no surprise that Jamaica is the top hot spot in the Caribbean for destination weddings. A destination wedding on the island is not only uniquely beautiful; it can be seamlessly planned by top bridal planners. The Wedding Channel survey for 2012 showed that the average length of stay for persons attending a destination wedding is six nights.

Say ‘I Do’ in Just 24 hours! The beauty of getting married in Jamaica is that couples can tie the knot in just 24 hours after arriving on island, provided an application for marriage license has been previously submitted. In order to apply for a marriage license, couples simply contact Jamaica’s Ministry of Justice (www.moj.gov.jm). Jamaica does not require couples to take a blood test in order to get married. hampagne is the traditional drink with which to toast the good health of the bride and groom. Many wine suppliers now stock a range of champagnes to suit various budgets but frequently, sparkling wine is chosen as a less expensive option. Brut champagne is very dry, while a demi-sec is sweeter. Less expensive alternatives include quality wines which may cost half the price. Sparkling wine is now very popular for toasts. If white wine is being drunk with the meal, it is acceptable to use the same wine for the toasts, but if the meal was accompanied by red wine, it would be appropriate to serve a different wine following the meal; perhaps Asti Spumante served well chilled or Moscato or Veuve du Vernay. A bottle will serve approximately six glasses. Champagne and white wines should be adequately chilled, ideal bottle temperature is between 5.50C and 90 C (420F and 480F) but two to three hours in cold water will suffice where no ice is available. Champagne should never be served ice cold and a suitable method of storage should be considered prior to serving. Red wines should be served at room temperature (two hours in a typical dining room atmosphere should suffice) and uncorked one hour prior to being served to allow for ‘breathing’. The preferred glasses include slender fluted and tulip-shaped.

The bust line is actually the most important measurement, as far as bridal gowns for pregnant women are concerned, in my opinion: If you are ordering a maternity bridesmaid gown, for example, and will wear it as your wedding gown, generally you only need to have your bust line measured. Your seamstress will already know how to adapt the girth of the garment, if needed. 6. Yes, You Can Be Comfortable! I have designed wedding gowns for pregnant actresses on TV shows and in movies and, to accommodate their shapes, we have made the basic body of the gown out of a gorgeous creamy color spandex, with a soft layer of either lace or chiffon as an overlay. This ensures that the belly is supported and the bride is comfortable, which should really be your foremost concern. Just add a beautiful veil and — VIOLA! — the bride looks stunning! 7. Have the Gown Made Without a Zipper Because wedding dresses are typically purchased many months in advance, your body will undoubtedly change from the time you choose your gown to the time you actually wear it on your big day. I suggest buying a custom wedding gown and ask that it be delivered to the store without the zipper actually sewn into the dress. This way, the seamstress can check your shape periodically and, as you approach the wedding, do her final adjustments on the shape of the dress to ensure it will fit perfectly. Your seamstress can actually "close" the garment with your zipper a day or two before the wedding. A lower, but still modest, neckline is a lovely way to give your look a romantic feel. “Pre-Loved”… Hmmm…this was new. I had never heard the term before and like a kid who just learnt a new word, I was running about repeating it to everyone. I picked up this phrase at the Bridal Dress Sale at Petals and Promises during Kingston Bridal Week . Petals and Promises used it to aptly describe a wedding dress that has been “previously loved” by one bride and is available to be loved by a new bride (i.e. brand-new-second-hand). Pre-loved dresses are not for everyone; like any other used item they are sold “as-is”. If you make the decision to consider purchasing a pre-loved dress, here are a few things to consider:

What’s your style? If you must be in the trendiest things at all times then a pre-loved dress may not even be on your radar. Unless you attend a wedding close to your own and buy the dress straight off the bride’s back, it is unlikely that you will find a pre-loved gown that is in season. If however, you are a fashionista that can rock any trend and make it look new, then go for the pre-loved rack.

How far away is your big day? If you have lots of time and decide to purchase a pre-loved dress, then any alterations necessary can be done with time to spare for cleaning. Since lots of time is relative, consider getting your dress no less than 4 months before your wedding: that gives you some time to get it altered, cleaned and after you shed those last five pounds that you really don’t need to lose anyway, to get it adjusted again (with the help of a really good seamstress who loves you a lot and will stay up late nights to get your dress to you on time).

Dress shopping should be a fun experience so make sure to share it with your personal cheerleaders who will tell you when you don’t look amazing in the most loving way possible. If you don’t have friends or family like that, make sure you don’t bring people with you who will be totally critical of every choice you make. The most unique group that I met at Petals and Promises’ dress sale was a set of friends determined to find the right dress for their friend who was not in the country. So the friend who was closest in size and shape to the bride-to-be tried on dress after dress, while the other friends snapped pictures and sent them to her real time. No final decisions were made on that day but the bride got a great view of the available dresses and was able to make a decision whether or not to visit on her return. Now those are some awesome friends!!

What is your dress budget? They can be ideal for the budget-savvy bride but budget shouldn’t force you to wear a dress that you don’t absolutely love.

BRIDAL RETREAT

Planning a wedding is no simple feat! If you don’t believe me, just ask the couple who always cringe at the memory of their wedding when they recall the many things that should have happened but didn’t. From applying for a marriage license to deciding where to snuggle with your “boo” on your honeymoon, there are quite a few things that need to be taken into consideration to make your special day a delightful one. That said, if you’re getting married soon and you did not attend Kingston Bridal Week’s (KBW) Bridal Retreat on Sunday, September 22, 2013, you missed an experience. Not to worry though, we will provide you with an idea of what you need to do make your special day filled with tears of joy rather than feelings of distress.

Ms. Hussey pointed out that Terra Nova’s reputation as the “perfect wedding venue…” is largely due to the passion and technique of their wedding coordinator Arlene Wynter who was trained overseas by Bridal Magazine and has been with the hotel for over 17 years. When asked about what sets Terra Nova apart from the competition, Ms Wynter stated that “At Terra Nova, the package is tastefully done and a hostess/ coordinator is provided”. The most impressive thing about Terra Nova, continued Ms. Wynter, is the “… personalized service we provide and the trust that emerges between the customers and the hotel staff ” as a result. Her advice to persons who are getting married – “…hire the right wedding coordinator, one who is trained and responsible”.

The use of a wedding coordinator cannot be overstated, as s/he is the architect who helps the couple to bring their wedding blueprint into a fantastic day with memories for a lifetime. This message was endorsed by Marguerite Anderson – co-owner of Petals and Promises – who in her presentation on the ‘The Wedding Coordinator – A Myth or a Must’ encouraged couples to get professional help to plan their wedding so that they can save time and money and eliminate stress. Mr. Silvera Castro, Marriage Officer, and presenter of the topic “Now I’ve said ‘YES’ Licenses banned certificate”, pointed out that a marriage is legal if it occurs between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on your chosen day. While you need to apply for the license, Mr. Castro stated that if you know the Marriage Officer very well, he/she can excuse the marriage licenses and within 14 days publish your marriage bans.

To apply for your licenses, you need to take the relevant documents (i.e. your divorce papers (if any) and copy of ID) to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) where you will get two forms to complete and further information on what to do to obtain the license. Mr. Castro also pointed out to the brides-to-be need to manage their time instead of striving to be “fashionably late”. Finally, Mr. Castro advised that couples need to be considerate of Marriage Officers’ time, as some of them have up to five weddings in one day! It is therefore inconsiderate to keep them waiting because while they are waiting on the bride to show up, another bride may be getting nervous as to why the Officer has not shown up on time for the wedding. Couples, a word to the wise – be on time! I am sure that you would not want to be the one kept waiting on your special day!

She reiterated her point by calling on a bride-to-be in the audience to showcase her unusual wedding colours of purple and turquoise. Marcia’s comment - “those colours coordinate well.” Moving on to shock the audience with her opinion that photo shop is overrated, Marcia empowered the attendees by giving them a photography question guide to help them choose a photographer. As a photographer who prides herself on always being on time, Marcia reminded brides to be early for their wedding, as being late is NOT fashionable or cool.

The event scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. started at 6 p.m. Jamaica time or more like 7:53 p.m, which seemed to add to the locality of the event, after all, it was Kingston Bridal Week. The screens projected highlights of last year’s event while waiters hustled around serving a purple and white mixture in tiny flasks garnished with mint leaves. The white creamy mixture had a taste which reminded me of plantains and the purple topping tasted like berries.

Glass and crystal ornaments decorated the white branches that paved the entrance. White leather sofas fitted into an all white contemporary and modern décor gave a hint about the evening’s proceedings. The magnificent runway lit with bright iridescent lights, overlooked the silver and clear plastic chairs and illuminated them, as they awaited their VIP guests. Long black dresses, matted powdered faces, the lingering smell of delicious hors d’oeuvres announced Kingston Bridal Week’s Black Tie Event. Black Tie was definitely the mode of dress for this event and as I browsed the area before the spectacular event got started, Face Forward was there to apply makeup to my bare face which completed the look.

With such beauty and elegance I was so enthralled, I just had to take it all in. The euphoria ended when I saw a gentleman in The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel was abuzz with patrons jeans and a few ladies who seemed to be wearing as Kingston Bridal Week was quite the attraction their after-party outfits. that brought in tons of visitors. Suzie Lee’s Swimwear “Sweet Cheek”, showed a wide diversity and different uses of fabrics as she displayed cheeky and trendy designs.

As wine glasses clinked and the socialites mingled, time ran quickly then came to a paused at 9:50 p.m. when Randy Fenoli arrived. It was then that the event started. Music from hip hop and R&B divas continued to blare through the speakers as the Jamaica Yellow Pages unveiled its biggest surprise. It was yellow as the potentially new Bridal colour. The bridal gown was a tube top Cinderella fairy tale dress in sunshine yellow. The groom wore a bright yellow suit, accentuated with a greenish neon lining on the inside and out. As they exited, the bride tossed her bouquet in the audience, but ironically the audience seemed more frightened than pleasantly surprised, as they dodged it rather than clamoured to catch it. I guess they weren’t worried about being next in line because they were already married. I guess the bright yellow dress was not enough to keep our eyes opened. Next there was a parade of bathing suits from top Caribbean designers.

As the swimwear models left the stage, a young man wearing shiny pants and a loose fitting top made his way to the stage, he was introduced as Akino, a local contortionist. As he twisted himself into numerous shapes and unorthodox body formations, he showed further skill by passing his entire body through the head of a tennis racquet. His tricks and lissome moves amused many, but disturbed some as they wondered how his act fit into the show and also feared he may hurt himself. His routine was a bit lengthy and as time passed, people got more uneasy as his limberness made him seem boneless. His performance finally ended and he was applauded apparently for his bravery.

The audience didn’t seem particularly intrigued as grumbles became more louder as more models came out. Nealis, Designer of the Year for Caribbean Fashion Week 2007, showed her breezy line of dresses ranging from some risqué ones to comfortable African chic. Next on the runway was J Jolly Designs, who debuted her line with the Face of Kingston Bridal Week-Alissa Chung, who donned the stylish ensemble with a green visor cap. Escalles from the Terra Nova, showed us samples of their limited edition line. Blue striped shirts and shorts, white tees, grey leggings with one of a kind patterns and elegant casual wear exhumed luxury and class and a well received applause from the audience. Spokes apparel by Dexter Huxtable was not to be outdone, as his unique shades and textures of shiny grey and blue suits were

Roger Gary Designs were a move of bravery as well as he displayed haute couture swimwear designs in bright neon colours that shimmered in the light. Tight briefs on male models and one piece swimwear with Lady Gaga sleeves definitely got the attention of the crowd. Finally, the highlight of the evening came, as Randy Fenoli and the stunning bridal gowns from Petals and Promises embraced the stage. Randy wore a white blazer and blue pants. He joked about being a virgin to Jamaica, hence the reason for the white. The gowns were primarily white and ranged from short dresses to longer more traditional gowns. However it was the black and white lace dress which got the greatest reception. Randy and the models donning bridal gowns lined up for the final walk and for the many cameras to take their shots. He said a few words and as they left the stage, the night came to a close at 11:55 p.m. It was an awesome event and we look forward to next year which should be bigger and even better.

“BEFORE YOU PICK THAT DRESS”

I sat amidst the hum of excitement and the chatter of brides-to-be and their entourage, which permeated the room in which we sat at the Knutsford Court hotel, as we anxiously awaited the entrance of wedding fashion icon, Randy Fenoli. As I waited, I took the opportunity to have a quick chat with one of the brides-to-be Kristen Hutchinson (soon to be Kristen Hardie) and two members of her bridal party Sajeevika Amarakoon and Tandose Sambo. With much enthusiasm in answering the question why she attended the event, Kristen responded “I love his show. I am an addictive[sic] watcher and will be buying his book. I am excited to be here to hear Randy’s advice on types of dresses and so on. I plan to leave with Randy’s photograph!” For those of you who religiously watch TLC’s programmes “Say Yes to the Dress” and “Randy to the Rescue”, then you can identify with just how these women felt as they anticipated Randy’s arrival. Needless to say, when Randy stepped through the door, there were shrieks of pleasure, applauses and smiles as broad as they were everlasting, erupting around him. Randy exuded confidence and style! As he stepped to the podium and took the microphone, what do you think were the first words that came out of his mouth? Of course, you got it! In true Randy style, he said “Hello Beautiful” and the audience erupted in shouts of approval, some of whom responded to him with the same greeting.

Randy bonded with the audience by beginning the session with comments about his love for Jamaica, its people and its food. He enjoyed meals of jerked chicken and “ackay”[his accented version of ackee – Jamaica’s national fruit which is part of its popular dish] and saltfish and will definitely return for second, third and more visits. Throughout his presentation, several things became clear: Randy absolutely loves what he does; he believes that beauty is beyond skin-deep, he knows women’s bodies, he loves the camera and the camera loves him. I have never attended a session where in mid-stream the presenter stops to pose for photographs. According to Randy, “I love the press. You might as well give them a good shot. There is nothing worse than a bad photograph”. Randy began his story by giving us an insight into his childhood experiences and his journey to the point where he is at now in his life. He is the last child – or “wash belly “in Jamaican lingo – of seven boys. He grew up on a farm, an experience he hated so much so that he tried to run away five times! His big break came when his mother a home health nurse decided to purchase a sewing machine to sew garments and make extra money. When his mother took home the machine, she told him “Don’t touch my good machine. Don’t touch my good fabric and don’t touch my good scissors”. Although he heard his mother’s advice, he realized that his mother could not sew to save her life so one day at age 9; he took her patterns and made his mother a dress.

When his mother came home from work the evening • and saw the dress, she enquired about its maker only to find out that it was made by Randy. She tried the dress and it fit her perfectly. What do you think she did next? The next day she brought home a piece of material and asked Randy to make a skirt. Thus began the journey of Randy into fashion and the rest, as they say, is history. Leaving his farm life behind at age 16 Randy moved to New York City where he worked as a hairdresser, make-up artist and an entertainer. In his third semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology, he entered a bridal wear competition designed for 4th to 8th semester students. Not knowing that all the designs they chose belonged to one person, the judge chose all 5 of his designs! He was then hired by Vivian Dessi Diamond to design and create bridal wear. He invested his money in real estate until he got enough money to set up his own business in New Orleans. Unfortunately, Katrina destroyed that dream, and, Randy returned to New York to work for Kleinfield as a Fashion Director – a position specially created for him.

Which gown is right for your “body type”? Do you know your body type? Randy showed pictures of 12 body types – cornet, lollipop, skittle, column, bell, goblet, vase, pear, brick, cello, apple, hourglass – and advised “Don’t let anyone compare you to a fruit”. Don’t let anyone select you based on stereotypical body types. Ask the question, where do you carry your weight? If you’re fuller on the top, add volume to the bottom. If you’re fuller on the bottom, add volume to the top and if you’re fuller in the middle choose styles that hide or give an illusion of a flat middle. Don’t go with the trend or the ‘name brand’ if it does not tell your story or suit your body type/ style. There are many trends but the real trend is that you can look any way you want to, based on your story, once you’ve found your location. Choose a dress that showcases who you are!

5. Don’t choose a bouquet bigger than your head! Keep it simple. Kate, wife of Prince William is considered the best dressed bride ever, according to Randy. She kept it simple and beautiful. 6. Make your bridesmaids look good too! Bridesmaids are your friends. They should look good too. Why does Randy do what he does? “It’s all about love and I do this because I believe in the power of clothing”, Randy stated. He recounted a story where Oprah Winfrey gave some gifts, including clothes, to children in Africa. When asked which of the gifts they loved the most, the children said they loved the uniforms the most because it did not make them feel poor. Therefore , “clothes make us feel good”, said Randy.

Randy’s Final Comments “It’s all about perspective”, shared Randy. Planning a wedding is like life, he continued. You either throw your hands up and enjoy it or choose to put your head Randy’s Rules 1. There is no such thing as a “bridezilla”. “I don’t over the side and puke. A trend is anything that is currently popular which equates to “everybody’s doing it.” There is nothing like feeling special and standing out from the crowd on your big day. Using trends wisely include finding out what is happening. During the early / pre-planning phase of your event, use the Internet, current stylebooks and visit similar events and trade shows like the recently held Kingston Bridal Week to determine what the trends are in your area as well as internationally. For Jamaica, our wedding trends tend to follow closely behind what happens in the United States.

This year at Kingston Bridal Week, I had the pleasure of speaking with persons whose companies are ready to provide you with a tantalizing feast on your special day. My taste buds were aroused by the delectable treats I sampled!

But don’t worry folks, Cuisine Management assured me that while Jamaican dishes are their specialty, they are able to prepare any international cuisine and guarantee a savory and delightful execution! I believe they can pull it off.

“Mouth watering, delicious, wow factor” were the three phrases Glen Watkis used to describe the scrumptious meals his company had prepared. Cuisine Management Services Ltd has transcended the boundaries of just a simple canteen providing “quality food for hospitals,” to a full service catering company for any event. I must admit that while interviewing Glen, who was explaining more about their specialties like deboned curry goat and sweet potato pudding, I was distracted. The piquant aroma of spices, which emanated from Cuisine Management’s fish in chardonnay white wine sauce, caught me completely off guard!

Jadhai’s Gourmet Delight introduced me to a world of pasta goodness! Their Italian-Jamaican fused dishes can be quite a treat for those couples interested in incorporating another cuisine to their menu. Shauna McNab admitted that while her company is home based and she cooks to order, she believes that “our fusion is what makes it [the dishes] different.” She prides herself on making the best lasagna and I put her to the test!

I was presented with a plate of rice and peas, a healthy mix of sautéed vegetables, chicken in a sweet chili sauce and fish in a white wine sauce. I, ravenously, tried the fish first. Each slice was evenly cut and cooked to absolute perfection – not overdone. The fish itself was succulent and no one flavor overpowered the other. It was the perfect balance of spices and alcohol. Their sweet chili chicken had me tempted to chew on the bone. Yes, you heard right! That is when you know that it is well-seasoned and properly cooked; when you just want to spare no part. The chicken was moist, easy to peel off of the bones and my taste buds exploded at the initial

She served me quite the slice of callaloo lasagna. I was a bit hesitant, as I feared that this was a crazy mix, but I dug in. The lasagna skin was soft, not overcooked and definitely not hard or burnt on the outside (a good sign). My fork cut easily through it and I was pleasantly surprised to see the wealth of cheesy goodness that I believe any lasagna should have. The callaloo was well cooked and blended nicely with the fresh herbs and a variety of cheeses. There was a pleasant undertoned sweetness, which lingered on the tongue after the first bite. It left me wanting more! What is dinner without dessert? I have always found that we love traditional fruitcake for weddings. Fay’s Sweet Treasures homemade fruitcake is definitely a desert to invest in.

This mother-daughter partnership sees Mum handling the baking while Dayna deals with the business aspect. “What is a wedding without fruit cake?” laughed Dayna as she explained how this home-based business came into being. Dayna admitted that she wanted to branch out into different ways of presenting cake souvenirs. “It’s about blending the old (traditional cake) and the new (different cake presentations).” She showed me her display of traditional wedding cake designs, fruitcake cupcakes and even fruitcake lollipops. I was curious as to what made her cakes different from any one else’s. She replied by handing me a sample. As I unwrapped the cake, I was hit by the delightful smell of fruits, well-soaked in wine, which permeated them to their core. The moisture, which hit my tongue, was enthralling. I felt the love and homemade care Fay meted out in making these fantastic cakes! But dessert doesn’t only mean cake. Fruits are a new trend at weddings and even as gifts for birthdays and other occasions. One can get a fresh fruit centerpiece for their guests to munch on while they wait on the wedding party or until dinner is served. It’s a healthy, unique touch to your wedding theme. Fruit Blossoms is a small business, about three years old, and is keen on serving up some fruit goodness to Jamaica. Fresh fruit displays, fruit lollies and even alcohol infused fruit lollies can be delectable, decadent treats at your wedding. “We incorporate all fruits signature to Jamaica and that makes these fruit displays so unique,” beamed Kadeen. “Try this!” she said as she handed me a fruit icicle, “you will like it!” And love it, I did! This frozen fruity treat aroused my senses as I unwrapped it. The smell of fresh fruits and the tanginess from the orange enticed my taste buds. Perhaps I was a bit greedy for more of this fruity sensation, but in retrospect the brain freeze was worth it! Healthy and different are two words to sum up Flavours Express’ fresh fruit smoothies! These blends can be excellent treats for kids and adults at any wedding, especially if your guests are all about leading a healthy eating lifestyle! Chris Palmer’s mobile frozen beverage service started off as simply a Friday corporate event. His blends were such a hit that his business has now expanded to catering at parties. An entrepreneur at heart, he enthusiastically discussed his futuristic plans - of packaging these smoothies and making them available at stores – while handing me samples of his blends. I absentmindedly sipped on the first blend and I was instantly enraptured into a state of euphoria. The sweetness of the pineapple juice mingled with the thickness of the blended bananas was indeed a Tropical Explosion you should try! But it was the smooth rush of flavours from the Mango Jack Cruise that won my taste buds. This blend is perfect by itself and could be spiced up with some rum for the more adventurous tasters! Talk about palatable seduction - taste of Kingston brought exactly that!

The With Ease Catalogue (WEC) Jamaica team arrived at the tastefully decorated Montego Bay Convention Centre about forty-five minutes before the day’s proceedings were scheduled to start. After all as the ones responsible for the publication of the event magazine, we could not have shown up Jamaica time! The bamboo, bougainvillea, croton and assortment of tropical flora joined the symphony of a steel pan orchestra to create that welcoming island feel. We then made our way into the room where vendors had their booths displayed. It took me a while to pick my jaw up off the floor. It was sheer opulence!!! Cascading floral arrangements; beautifully decorated cakes, some looking like floral arrangements; chocolate treats exquisitely displayed; majestic hues of fuchsia, teal, green, salmon, magenta; champagne fizzed in glasses held by dainty ladies on stilts, mincing pass from booth to booth. And of course, what wedding expo would be complete without wedding dresses? There were some amazing pieces from Bliss Bridals. Tai Flora’s floral booth stole my breath. There was a feel of transcendence – I was transported into a magical wonderland and I am not easily impressed. My first stop for sampling was at the Appleton counter. The concoction of Appleton estate rum, some fruity flavourings and suspicion of nutmeg was simply sinful and I was most happy to indulge. Before I realized, I was on my third glass. By this, the cocktail had snuck passed my taste buds and into my pleasure pathways – releasing tons of serotonin between the synapses. I was fired up and ready for the day. The DJ kept patrons’ feet shuffling to an eclectic mix of Caribbean and international popular music – some that made the waistline roll a bit. I noticed some of our friends from the North making yeoman efforts to catch the rhythm. It was evident that they were really into it. A lively emcee kept the mingling crowd entertained with his animated personality, a few jokes and many samplings (a tad too many) of his vocal ability. One husband-to-be won a bottle of wine compliments of Moet as the only husband present doing bridal shopping, while the future Mrs. was busy at work back in Kingston at the University Hospital of the

West Indies. The emcee tried desperately to get them to express freely & publicly their love for each other (on speaker phone). But you know us Caribbean people and our apparent aversion to expressing love verbally… It was cute to watch the husband to be convolute into a ball of shyness as he told his spouse he loves her. There were even games. I participated. I would have won. Alas, my partner seemed a conservative, Christian woman and cost me the grand prize because she refused to fold her legs around my waist as we tried desperately to stand on a small piece of newspaper without any part of our feet overlapping, as we danced until the DJ stopped the music. We were knocked out in the third round. *pouts* Meanwhile, the liquor kept flowing as was the food and decadent chocolate treats. I had scotch bonnet flavoured chocolate. Yes, you read correctly. Scotch Bonnet as in that pepper that is an explosion of fire and is omnipresent in Jamaican cuisine. Smooth, sweet with a hint of tang and that signature explosive heat at the back of your tongue and all that chocolate-y goodness! Hmmmmmm! I am reliving the experience just writing about it. Then, there was the formal opening session: invocation, speeches from the Jamaica Tourist Board; CEO of the Montego Bay Convention Centre; Peter Shoucair, producer of the expo and other sponsors. And, of-course, the guest of honour, a feisty, fiery, ebullient, 5’ 2” (approximately) redhead, Renée Strauss. She was a bundle of light and life and laughter as she gave a spirited presentation on the makings of a memorable wedding, which was evidently wellreceived. One of the things she shared was that she observed that there is more heart and soul here, in Jamaica, than anywhere else in the world that she had ever visited. She commended the wide variety of beautiful flowers found here on the island and said she recently did an event in Canada, where there was an overwhelming desire, by participants, to get married in Jamaica. She was so warm and down-to-earth; walking around hugging

Therefore, it should solve the issues if the idea is that I will listen to you, I will respect you, I will be honest with you and I will make sacrifices for you. I must say though, that if the person has personality traits and mental issues they may not go away. One should be willing to live with it and if they can’t then they shouldn’t get married ‘expecting’ that it will all change. You have to understand the moral principal that drives your partner and be honest in asking if the two of you are compatible before "tying the knot".
