Jamaica THE CARIBBEAN’S ONE LOVE WEDDING DESTINATION
Charm, elegance, and pure fun rolled into one.
I
It’s no surprise that Jamaica is the top hot spot in the Caribbean for destination weddings. A destination wedding on the island is not only uniquely beautiful; it can be seamlessly planned by top bridal planners. By working closely with a wedding coordinator, couples can create the nuptials of their dreams. Jamaica is also ideal for destination weddings as the year round tropical weather allows brides to plan their wedding at any time of the year, and the variety of wedding services available on the island means that couples can find a package to suit almost any budget. According to TheKnot.com, which is one of the top media outlets geared at providing information on weddings, 24 per cent of all weddings in the U.S. are destination weddings, and the average number of guests at these destination weddings is 86. The Wedding Channel survey for 2012 showed that the average length of stay for persons attending a destination wedding is six nights.
...there’s a Resort that fits the style of every wedding & honeymoon couple.
For Jamaica, approximately 18 per cent of its visitors indicate that they are coming to the island either to get married or to participate in a wedding. At the Jamaica Tourist Board, the bridal market is a recession-proof market. People continue to fall in love and want to get married in a wonderful location. The Jamaica Tourist Board continually promotes this market segment because there is still rich growth potential.
Say ‘I Do’ in Just 24 hours! The beauty of getting married in Jamaica is that couples can tie the knot in just 24 hours after arriving on island, provided an application for marriage license has been previously submitted. In order to apply for a marriage license, couples simply contact Jamaica’s Ministry of Justice (www.moj.gov.jm). Jamaica does not require couples to take a blood test in order to get married. However, the following documentation is required:
Each of Jamaica’s regions is sure to please. Only by experiencing will you know. Here’s a sneak preview: Montego Bay, The Complete Resort Montego Bay, or MoBay, as it’s more commonly known to Jamaicans, is the most popular resort area on the island. This energetic and stunning resort area, adorned with a bustling, colourful “hip strip” of shops and restaurants is home to world-class golf courses, many different types of resorts and hotels, historic great houses and a pulsating nightlife. Couples can river raft on the Martha Brae, explore the terrain on horseback, enjoy a value-added duty-free shopping experience or sunbathe on the celebrated Doctor’s Cave Beach, which is fed by mineral springs and said to have medicinal benefits. Seafaring couples will enjoy scuba diving, which is especially spectacular in the protected waters of Montego Bay Marine Park, with 10 square miles of coral reefs teeming with exotic fish. Music loving couples can enjoy the rhythmic sounds of reggae and jazz and blues with the annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival in January, and the Reggae Sumfest Festival in July.
An additional distraction may have been the blaze of orange and purple that makes each sunset a cause for celebration.
Negril, The Capital of Casual Active honeymooners looking for exciting adventures can experience the exhilaration of cliff jumping among the coves or witness the magnificent, world-renowned sunsets at Rick’s Café. hampagne is the traditional drink with which to toast the good health of the bride and groom. Many wine suppliers now stock a range of champagnes to suit various budgets but frequently, sparkling wine is chosen as a less expensive option. Brut champagne is very dry, while a demi-sec is sweeter. Less expensive alternatives include quality wines which may cost half the price. Sparkling wine is now very popular for toasts. If white wine is being drunk with the meal, it is acceptable to use the same wine for the toasts, but if the meal was accompanied by red wine, it would be appropriate to serve a different wine following the meal; perhaps Asti Spumante served well chilled or Moscato or Veuve du Vernay. A bottle will serve approximately six glasses. Champagne and white wines should be adequately chilled, ideal bottle temperature is between 5.50C and 90 C (420F and 480F) but two to three hours in cold water will suffice where no ice is available. Champagne should never be served ice cold and a suitable method of storage should be considered prior to serving. Red wines should be served at room temperature (two hours in a typical dining room atmosphere should suffice) and uncorked one hour prior to being served to allow for ‘breathing’. The preferred glasses include slender fluted and tulip-shaped.

Tips for Expecting Brides
or the average woman, choosing a wedding dress can be both exhilarating and incredibly stressful. For a pregnant bride-to-be, the process can be just as exciting but also a bit more cumbersome. Not only do you need to find a gown in which you look stunning, but you have to dress your growing bump as well.
Although getting married while pregnant used to be considered taboo, this way of thinking is extremely outdated - not to mention extremely offensive to many people! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise: This is your day to shine and celebrate times two - you have both your marriage and your growing family to commemorate. To accommodate the many women who decide to get married while they are with child, there are now specially designed maternity wedding gowns made specifically for growing tummies, which can be a great option for a lot of ladies.
pregnancy glow!) It's also most cost-effective to get married in the second trimester as by the third trimester you will, more often than not, need a special maternity gown to fit your body properly. 2. Don’t Just Order the Next Size Up. Thousands of women have said to me that they’d just like to order a wedding gown in a larger size to accommodate their growing tummies. This, sadly, does not work. Clothing is designed to fit a woman’s curves: Whether size two or 24, the average woman has between an eight-to-12 inch difference between the largest part of her bust line, the smallest part of her waistline and the fullest part of her hips. Therefore, clothing is designed to adapt to the curves. This is the main reason why pregnant women cannot wear regular bridal gowns: As the baby is growing inside the torso thickens. The natural waist circumference increases…thereby the 8-12” difference from bust to waist is dramatically reduced. No more hourglass measurements. The basic contour or shape of a garment must be cut differently to be fuller around the middle. 3. Don’t Be Shocked About the Size Ordered Gowns are cut with only a 1” difference between sizes. I have experiences with customers pregnant and not, being very concerned that they normally wear a four but they were told to order a size six or eight in a wedding gown, and this is when they are NOT pregnant!
To help you along your way to finding, or designing, the perfect gown for you, here are my 10 top tips for This is because wedding gown designers use their own size charts bridal fashion when you're pregnant. that vary greatly from the sizes you find at general department stores. If you usually wear a six (35-27-35) eight (36-28-36) or 12 1. Wed in the Second Trimester (38-30-38), when pregnant your normal hourglass figure (no matter Beware of the first trimester when choosing your the size) shifts and the waistline measurement increases getting wedding date if you can: Gowns may fit you better, closer to the bust line measurement. Even if you are normally a size since you won't need to worry about a growing belly 10 and you needed to order a size 18 or 20, don’t be shocked — it quite as much, but dealing with morning sickness is not that much when you consider that your tummy is growing on your wedding day can really spoil the fun. The every day and six inches around the middle balanced all around isn’t second trimester is probably the best stage to tie the as huge as it sounds. So, do not worry about a number, it is knot: Your baby bump is just filling in and you tend to have more energy. (Plus, you'll have that beautiful always the fit that counts.

4. Get a Maternity Gown on a Budget If you know you're going to be seven-to-nine months pregnant at the wedding and a custom dress just isn't in your budget, there is a far less pricey option available to you. Often, bridesmaid dress manufacturers design maternity dresses and these work very well for pregnant brides. You can choose from traditional bridal colors like white and ivory, or you have the option to do something different and wear a trendy shade like blush or mint — whatever color speaks to you. Sometimes, you may need to add some additional lining, especially on white or ivory gowns, but this is typically far less expensive than designing a maternity wedding dress or special ordering in a maternity size. Use accessories to dress up your dress, like a luxurious veil, a jeweled brooch and gorgeous jewelry to really complete your look. 5. The Bust Line Measurement Matters Most The bust line can increase during pregnancy by several sizes depending on a woman's DNA. So, there is really no way to predict what size you will literally be from one week to the next. Sometimes ordering one or two sizes up will be okay, but not more — more than that and you are better off with a maternity dress so you can avoid having to do extensive alterations (which can cost you a great deal of money). The bust line is actually the most important measurement, as far as bridal gowns for pregnant women are concerned, in my opinion: If you are ordering a maternity bridesmaid gown, for example, and will wear it as your wedding gown, generally you only need to have your bust line measured. Your seamstress will already know how to adapt the girth of the garment, if needed. 6. Yes, You Can Be Comfortable! I have designed wedding gowns for pregnant actresses on TV shows and in movies and, to accommodate their shapes, we have made the basic body of the gown out of a gorgeous creamy color spandex, with a soft layer of either lace or chiffon as an overlay. This ensures that the belly is supported and the bride is comfortable, which should really be your foremost concern. Just add a beautiful veil and — VIOLA! — the bride looks stunning! 7. Have the Gown Made Without a Zipper Because wedding dresses are typically purchased many months in advance, your body will undoubtedly change from the time you choose your gown to the time you actually wear it on your big day. I suggest buying a custom wedding gown and ask that it be delivered to the store without the zipper actually sewn into the dress. This way, the seamstress can check your shape periodically and, as you approach the wedding, do her final adjustments on the shape of the dress to ensure it will fit perfectly. Your seamstress can actually "close" the garment with your zipper a day or two before the wedding. Yes, your body changes every day as you get closer to your due date so it's essential that you wait until as close as you can to the final fitting.
28
8. You Can Wear a Mermaid Gown… But It Will Cost You Most pregnant brides opt to wear an empire cut dress that’s fitted in the bust line and flows out down to the ground. But, you don’t need to be restricted to this one dress shape, your dress can be whatever you want it to be. If you want to wear a mermaid and show off the tummy, for example, just make sure you understand the tricks the seamstress will have to do in order for it to accommodate the bump (and don’t be surprised to spend several hundred dollars on alterations!) Not only will the mid-section have to be made bigger, but the fabrics may have to be in three layers: You’ll need to modify the lining, the base fabric of the gown (satin, typically) and then very likely the layer of lace and maybe even beading as well. That is a tedious job to do but it can be done! 9. Show a Little Skin While pregnancy has a way of making women want to cover up, you may want to show just a little bit of skin on your wedding day to avoid looking too stuffy. A lower, but still modest, neckline is a lovely way to give your look a romantic feel. Capped sleeves in lace are also a gorgeous way to frame a lower neckline and draw attention away from your belly to the detailing of your dress and up to your gorgeous face. 10. Wear White While outdated etiquette proclaimed that women with child shouldn’t wear white on their wedding days, this stipulation is long dead. Don’t worry about color — yes, you can wear white... despite what your traditional, opinionated aunt says. Personal preference rules the day!

Cakes
A
groom’s cake is intended to be a gift from the bride to the groom. The groom's cake is usually dark (often chocolate or liquorsoaked) and designed with a nod toward what's traditionally considered "masculine" (i.e., no rosettes in sight). The groom's cake can serve many purposes, from dessert at the rehearsal dinner to an alternative choice to the bride's cake at the wedding. It's customary for the groom's cake to be displayed next to the bride's cake and later cut and put into boxes for guests to take home. Believe it or not, legend has it that single women are supposed to sleep with a slice under their pillow the same night they receive it and if they do, they'll dream of their future husband. Boxed slices of groom's cake can also serve as your wedding favors. If you go this route, take advantage of the opportunity to get creative with the packaging an additional way to reflect your bridal style. A current creative trend in groom's cakes is to have the cake reflect the groom's interests and hobbies. Whatever you decide, gifting your new husband with his own cake is something you should do because you want to not because you feel obligated.

desserts and beverages, etc.). Have this list handy when you call to get quotes from different caterers.
2.
Great caterers book fast. Start your search as 7. early as you can. If possible allow at least two months before your event.
3.
Decide what you want a catering service to do. For example, do you want a caterer to only prepare and deliver the food or do you want them to set up the food and serve your attendees. 8.
Schedule an appointment with potential caterers to meet in person. If you can, ask them to have samples of the food for you to taste, and also take a look at their linens and decorations. (Note: there may be a tasting fee depending on the caterer, so ask them about this in advance.)
4.
5.
Decide on the type of meal service that will go best with your theme. Generally, you have three style options to choose from – cocktail style with hors d’oeuvres passed around by 9. waiters; buffet style, where guests serve themselves; or a sit-down service where guests are served at their seats.
Get price quotes from each caterer so you can compare prices.
Ask them how they plan to deliver the food to your event, and present your time frame for delivery and setup. You can also inquire about food storage and safety. Select the best caterer to meet both your budget and your event needs – that means, sometimes it’s worth it to pay more for better overall service.

any modern brides have chosen to step away from old wedding traditions but there is just something that feels so romantic about adding old-world items and antique accents to your wedding day experience. From brooches and lace to burlap and pearls, many brides are incorporating a sense of tradition, history and romance into your wedding day with lace accents tied into your event decor. Bridal Dresses with elegant illusion necklines with lace and beaded appliques provide a stunning alternative to standard strapless gowns. “Pre-Loved”… Hmmm…this was new. I had never heard the term before and like a kid who just learnt a new word, I was running about repeating it to everyone. I picked up this phrase at the Bridal Dress Sale at Petals and Promises during Kingston Bridal Week . Petals and Promises used it to aptly describe a wedding dress that has been “previously loved” by one bride and is available to be loved by a new bride (i.e. brand-new-second-hand). Pre-loved dresses are not for everyone; like any other used item they are sold “as-is”. If you make the decision to consider purchasing a pre-loved dress, here are a few things to consider:
40
•
What’s your style? If you must be in the trendiest things at all times then a pre-loved dress may not even be on your radar. Unless you attend a wedding close to your own and buy the dress straight off the bride’s back, it is unlikely that you will find a pre-loved gown that is in season. If however, you are a fashionista that can rock any trend and make it look new, then go for the pre-loved rack.
•
How far away is your big day? If you have lots of time and decide to purchase a pre-loved dress, then any alterations necessary can be done with time to spare for cleaning. Since lots of time is relative, consider getting your dress no less than 4 months before your wedding: that gives you some time to get it altered, cleaned and after you shed those last five pounds that you really don’t need to lose anyway, to get it adjusted again (with the help of a really good seamstress who loves you a lot and will stay up late nights to get your dress to you on time).
Dress shopping should be a fun experience so make sure to share it with your personal cheerleaders who will tell you when you don’t look amazing in the most loving way possible. If you don’t have friends or family like that, make sure you don’t bring people with you who will be totally critical of every choice you make. The most unique group that I met at Petals and Promises’ dress sale was a set of friends determined to find the right dress for their friend who was not in the country. So the friend who was closest in size and shape to the bride-to-be tried on dress after dress, while the other friends snapped pictures and sent them to her real time. No final decisions were made on that day but the bride got a great view of the available dresses and was able to make a decision whether or not to visit on her return. Now those are some awesome friends!!
•
What is your dress budget? They can be ideal for the budget-savvy bride but budget shouldn’t force you to wear a dress that you don’t absolutely love.
The overall event was made extra special with complementary wine and chocolate for the brides to be and their guests. The gentlemen in attendance particularly appreciated the wine while they waited. Writer: Charlene Chevannes- Chambers Photographers: Tricia Bent & Nicole McCalla
BRIDAL RETREAT
P
Planning a wedding is no simple feat! If you don’t believe me, just ask the couple who always cringe at the memory of their wedding when they recall the many things that should have happened but didn’t. From applying for a marriage license to deciding where to snuggle with your “boo” on your honeymoon, there are quite a few things that need to be taken into consideration to make your special day a delightful one. That said, if you’re getting married soon and you did not attend Kingston Bridal Week’s (KBW) Bridal Retreat on Sunday, September 22, 2013, you missed an experience. Not to worry though, we will provide you with an idea of what you need to do make your special day filled with tears of joy rather than feelings of distress.
Ms. Hussey pointed out that Terra Nova’s reputation as the “perfect wedding venue…” is largely due to the passion and technique of their wedding coordinator Arlene Wynter who was trained overseas by Bridal Magazine and has been with the hotel for over 17 years. When asked about what sets Terra Nova apart from the competition, Ms Wynter stated that “At Terra Nova, the package is tastefully done and a hostess/ coordinator is provided”. The most impressive thing about Terra Nova, continued Ms. Wynter, is the “… personalized service we provide and the trust that emerges between the customers and the hotel staff ” as a result. Her advice to persons who are getting married – “…hire the right wedding coordinator, one who is trained and responsible”.
The use of a wedding coordinator cannot be overstated, as s/he is the architect who helps the couple to bring their wedding blueprint into a fantastic day with memories for a lifetime. This message was endorsed by Marguerite Anderson – co-owner of Petals and Promises – who in her presentation on the ‘The Wedding Coordinator – A Myth or a Must’ encouraged couples to get professional help to plan their wedding so that they can save time and money and eliminate stress. A total of 50 persons – 42 females and 8 males – This wedding coordinator needs to be someone who registered for the event. The Retreat was put on by is trustworthy and can catch the couple’s “…vision Kara-Ann Anderson and her team from Petals and in its entirety and make it happen”, emphasized Promises and was held at the Terra Nova All-Suite Anderson. hotel – the “Haven for Weddings” – according to Michelle Hussey, Terra Nova’s General Manager. 41 An all-day event that promised and delivered enlightening presentations on the “must know” aspects of getting married and honoured the audience’s presence with prizes, surprises and giveaways, the retreat was the first in the series of events for KBW. According to Stacey-Ann Mitchell, one of the attendees who will become Mrs. StaceyAnn Palmer in January 2014; “It (the Retreat) was great”.
No detail should go unchecked. For instance, did you know that there is a time span within which you need to say “I do”, for your marriage to be recognized under Jamaican law? Mr. Silvera Castro, Marriage Officer, and presenter of the topic “Now I’ve said ‘YES’ Licenses banned certificate”, pointed out that a marriage is legal if it occurs between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on your chosen day. While you need to apply for the license, Mr. Castro stated that if you know the Marriage Officer very well, he/she can excuse the marriage licenses and within 14 days publish your marriage bans.
BRIDAL RETREAT
42
To apply for your licenses, you need to take the relevant documents (i.e. your divorce papers (if any) and copy of ID) to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) where you will get two forms to complete and further information on what to do to obtain the license. Mr. Castro also pointed out to the brides-to-be need to manage their time instead of striving to be “fashionably late”. Finally, Mr. Castro advised that couples need to be considerate of Marriage Officers’ time, as some of them have up to five weddings in one day! It is therefore inconsiderate to keep them waiting because while they are waiting on the bride to show up, another bride may be getting nervous as to why the Officer has not shown up on time for the wedding. Couples, a word to the wise – be on time! I am sure that you would not want to be the one kept waiting on your special day!
wedding trends where she said couples will be using colours of teal, mint, gold, white, ivory, white and silver. Now to the cake! Will you go with the flow and choose the traditional fruit cake or break the mold and opt for a cake that you and your hubby-to-be actually like to eat? When it comes to “Selecting your Wedding Cake”, Teneisha Williams, CEO of Ma Cherie says “choose what you like” and “you can always almost get a cake for your budget. It’s the design that makes the difference”. She presented the audience with delectable samples of four different types of cakes. The attendees were simply delighted! Teneisha’s presentation was definitely a hit with Basilla Barnaby, another January 2014 bride, who described the Retreat as a “good experience especially the session on cakes…I wish I could stay…” as she hastened to fulfill her journalistic duties, covering the People’s National Party Conference. “A picture is worth a thousand words!” Marcia Roberts, in her presentation, “Dream in Colour – Wedding Photography”, encouraged couples to “let your colour match your personal style”. She reiterated her point by calling on a bride-to-be in the audience to showcase her unusual wedding colours of purple and turquoise. Marcia’s comment - “those colours coordinate well.” Moving on to shock the audience with her opinion that photo shop is overrated, Marcia empowered the attendees by giving them a photography question guide to help them choose a photographer. As a photographer who prides herself on always being on time, Marcia reminded brides to be early for their wedding, as being late is NOT fashionable or cool.

Glass and crystal ornaments decorated the white branches that paved the entrance. White leather sofas fitted into an all white contemporary and modern décor gave a hint about the evening’s proceedings. The magnificent runway lit with bright iridescent lights, overlooked the silver and clear plastic chairs and illuminated them, as they awaited their VIP guests. Long black dresses, matted powdered faces, the lingering smell of delicious hors d’oeuvres announced Kingston Bridal Week’s Black Tie Event. event was bound to be fierce! Neat waiters in black bow ties and fitted vests from Goddard Catering, served the early patrons with shrimp and mango chutney, Jamaican bread pudding with rum sauce, chicken salads, vegetable sticks and delectable hors d’oeuvres served on the cutest little plates that looked like miniature crystal frying pans. Even the plastic knives and forks looked like fine silverware. Talk about class!
Kingston Bridal Week’s hosts and patrons were proving to be real Jamaicans as the guests casually walked in one by one and the venue was finally full at 8:30 for the 7pm event. With such beauty and elegance I was so enthralled, I just had to take it all in. The euphoria ended when I saw a gentleman in The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel was abuzz with patrons jeans and a few ladies who seemed to be wearing as Kingston Bridal Week was quite the attraction their after-party outfits. that brought in tons of visitors. She told me she was looking forward to see Randy Fenoli and the bridal gowns and told me how much she enjoyed his show before offering to buy me a drink. I then asked, “Are you getting married?” she smiled and showed me her wedding ring. She then laughed and said; “I’m not getting married now, but I want my niece to be, even though she hasn’t found the gentleman as yet” It was indeed funny.
breathtakingly beautiful. The intricate designs on the jackets and the precise fit on the models told a story of first class tailoring. The peach suit was especially well received and the lovely line of men’s wear got a rousing round of applause from the audience. Suzie Lee’s Swimwear “Sweet Cheek”, showed a wide diversity and different uses of fabrics as she displayed cheeky and trendy designs.
As wine glasses clinked and the socialites mingled, time ran quickly then came to a paused at 9:50 p.m. when Randy Fenoli arrived. It was then that the event started. Music from hip hop and R&B divas continued to blare through the speakers as the Jamaica Yellow Pages unveiled its biggest surprise. It was yellow as the potentially new Bridal colour. The bridal gown was a tube top Cinderella fairy tale dress in sunshine yellow. The groom wore a bright yellow suit, accentuated with a greenish neon lining on the inside and out. As they exited, the bride tossed her bouquet in the audience, but ironically the audience seemed more frightened than pleasantly surprised, as they dodged it rather than clamoured to catch it. I guess they weren’t worried about being next in line because they were already married. I guess the bright yellow dress was not enough to keep our eyes opened. Next there was a parade of bathing suits from top Caribbean designers.
As the swimwear models left the stage, a young man wearing shiny pants and a loose fitting top made his way to the stage, he was introduced as Akino, a local contortionist. As he twisted himself into numerous shapes and unorthodox body formations, he showed further skill by passing his entire body through the head of a tennis racquet. His tricks and lissome moves amused many, but disturbed some as they wondered how his act fit into the show and also feared he may hurt himself. His routine was a bit lengthy and as time passed, people got more uneasy as his limberness made him seem boneless. His performance finally ended and he was applauded apparently for his bravery.
The audience didn’t seem particularly intrigued as grumbles became more louder as more models came out. Nealis, Designer of the Year for Caribbean Fashion Week 2007, showed her breezy line of dresses ranging from some risqué ones to comfortable African chic. Next on the runway was J Jolly Designs, who debuted her line with the Face of Kingston Bridal Week-Alissa Chung, who donned the stylish ensemble with a green visor cap. Escalles from the Terra Nova, showed us samples of their limited edition line. Blue striped shirts and shorts, white tees, grey leggings with one of a kind patterns and elegant casual wear exhumed luxury and class and a well received applause from the audience. Spokes apparel by Dexter Huxtable was not to be outdone, as his unique shades and textures of shiny grey and blue suits were
Roger Gary Designs were a move of bravery as well as he displayed haute couture swimwear designs in bright neon colours that shimmered in the light. Tight briefs on male models and one piece swimwear with Lady Gaga sleeves definitely got the attention of the crowd. Finally, the highlight of the evening came, as Randy Fenoli and the stunning bridal gowns from Petals and Promises embraced the stage. Randy wore a white blazer and blue pants. He joked about being a virgin to Jamaica, hence the reason for the white. The gowns were primarily white and ranged from short dresses to longer more traditional gowns. However it was the black and white lace dress which got the greatest reception. Randy and the models donning bridal gowns lined up for the final walk and for the many cameras to take their shots. He said a few words and as they left the stage, the night came to a close at 11:55 p.m. It was an awesome event and we look forward to next year which should be bigger and even better.

I sat amidst the hum of excitement and the chatter of brides-to-be and their entourage, which permeated the room in which we sat at the Knutsford Court hotel, as we anxiously awaited the entrance of wedding fashion icon, Randy Fenoli. As I waited, I took the opportunity to have a quick chat with one of the brides-to-be Kristen Hutchinson (soon to be Kristen Hardie) and two members of her bridal party Sajeevika Amarakoon and Tandose Sambo. With much enthusiasm in answering the question why she attended the event, Kristen responded “I love his show. I am an addictive[sic] watcher and will be buying his book. I am excited to be here to hear Randy’s advice on types of dresses and so on. I plan to leave with Randy’s photograph!” For those of you who religiously watch TLC’s programmes “Say Yes to the Dress” and “Randy to the Rescue”, then you can identify with just how these women felt as they anticipated Randy’s arrival. Needless to say, when Randy stepped through the door, there were shrieks of pleasure, applauses and smiles as broad as they were everlasting, erupting around him. Randy exuded confidence and style! As he stepped to the podium and took the microphone, what do you think were the first words that came out of his mouth? Of course, you got it! In true Randy style, he said “Hello Beautiful” and the audience erupted in shouts of approval, some of whom responded to him with the same greeting.

Randy bonded with the audience by beginning the session with comments about his love for Jamaica, its people and its food. He enjoyed meals of jerked chicken and “ackay”[his accented version of ackee – Jamaica’s national fruit which is part of its popular dish] and saltfish and will definitely return for second, third and more visits. Throughout his presentation, several things became clear: Randy absolutely loves what he does; he believes that beauty is beyond skin-deep, he knows women’s bodies, he loves the camera and the camera loves him. I have never attended a session where in mid-stream the presenter stops to pose for photographs. According to Randy, “I love the press. You might as well give them a good shot. There is nothing worse than a bad photograph”. Randy began his story by giving us an insight into his childhood experiences and his journey to the point where he is at now in his life. He is the last child – or “wash belly “in Jamaican lingo – of seven boys. He grew up on a farm, an experience he hated so much so that he tried to run away five times! His big break came when his mother a home health nurse decided to purchase a sewing machine to sew garments and make extra money. When his mother took home the machine, she told him “Don’t touch my good machine. Don’t touch my good fabric and don’t touch my good scissors”. Although he heard his mother’s advice, he realized that his mother could not sew to save her life so one day at age 9; he took her patterns and made his mother a dress.
When his mother came home from work the evening • and saw the dress, she enquired about its maker only to find out that it was made by Randy. She tried the dress and it fit her perfectly. What do you think she did next? The next day she brought home a piece of material and asked Randy to make a skirt. Thus began the journey of Randy into fashion and the rest, as they say, is history. Leaving his farm life behind at age 16 Randy moved to New York City where he worked as a hairdresser, make-up artist and an entertainer. In his third semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology, he entered a bridal wear competition designed for 4th to 8th semester students. Not knowing that all the designs they chose belonged to one person, the judge chose all 5 of his designs! He was then hired by Vivian Dessi Diamond to design and create bridal wear. He invested his money in real estate until he got enough money to set up his own business in New Orleans. Unfortunately, Katrina destroyed that dream, and, Randy returned to New York to work for Kleinfield as a Fashion Director – a position specially created for him.

Which gown is right for your “body type”? Do you know your body type? Randy showed pictures of 12 body types – cornet, lollipop, skittle, column, bell, goblet, vase, pear, brick, cello, apple, hourglass – and advised “Don’t let anyone compare you to a fruit”. Don’t let anyone select you based on stereotypical body types. Ask the question, where do you carry your weight? If you’re fuller on the top, add volume to the bottom. If you’re fuller on the bottom, add volume to the top and if you’re fuller in the middle choose styles that hide or give an illusion of a flat middle. Don’t go with the trend or the ‘name brand’ if it does not tell your story or suit your body type/ style. There are many trends but the real trend is that you can look any way you want to, based on your story, once you’ve found your location. Choose a dress that showcases who you are!
5. Don’t choose a bouquet bigger than your head! Keep it simple. Kate, wife of Prince William is considered the best dressed bride ever, according to Randy. She kept it simple and beautiful. 6. Make your bridesmaids look good too! Bridesmaids are your friends. They should look good too. Why does Randy do what he does? “It’s all about love and I do this because I believe in the power of clothing”, Randy stated. He recounted a story where Oprah Winfrey gave some gifts, including clothes, to children in Africa. When asked which of the gifts they loved the most, the children said they loved the uniforms the most because it did not make them feel poor. Therefore , “clothes make us feel good”, said Randy.
Randy’s Final Comments “It’s all about perspective”, shared Randy. Planning a wedding is like life, he continued. You either throw your hands up and enjoy it or choose to put your head Randy’s Rules 1. There is no such thing as a “bridezilla”. “I don’t over the side and puke. Randy chose to overcome believe in them”, he emphatically stated. “There’s just the physical abuse of his father and the seemingly a woman who wants to look beautiful on her day and dead end future of the farm to become renowned for helping women to look and feel beautiful when they wants for everything to be perfect”, he continued. take the first step of the most important journey of 2. Additionally, whoever you choose to carry, repeatedly saying the statement “I am Beautiful… make sure that you’ve communicated to them how Inside out. That’s what makes you beautiful”, he concluded. much you plan to spend on the dress.
Randy’s philosophy? “It’s all about being beautiful. I will never crush a woman’s dreams, no matter how bad the dress looks”, Randy shared. He also exposed the audience to his mantra – the 3 E’s: • Educate – this is the foundation of our society. • Elevate – many women have body image issues and don’t feel good about themselves • Empower – feel good walking down the aisle 3. Wear clean underwear for your bridal appointment. and through life Seriously? Yes, seriously. Randy on Finding the Perfect Dress According to Randy, your wedding dress choice 4. “WHATS TREADING NOW”

Unless you are running a business via Twitter, What’s Trending Now isn’t all that important. When it comes to your wedding day décor, cake selection etc, you may want to be aware of the trends so that you can decide what best suits your needs. However, trend should not be your only deciding factor. A trend is anything that is currently popular which equates to “everybody’s doing it.” There is nothing like feeling special and standing out from the crowd on your big day. Using trends wisely include finding out what is happening. During the early / pre-planning phase of your event, use the Internet, current stylebooks and visit similar events and trade shows like the recently held Kingston Bridal Week to determine what the trends are in your area as well as internationally. For Jamaica, our wedding trends tend to follow closely behind what happens in the United States.

position as the go to trend in décor. Over-the-top dramatic table-scapes with candles and lots of crystal garlands are right next in line depending on your personal style. While textured tablecloths have been in vogue for the past two to three years and that trend is consistent, mirrors and crystal chandeliers are also being used to create dramatic layered designs. Cakes: Once again, over-the-top with lots of bling is in! Decorating tiers of faux cake to create that dramatic effect has been in for some time, and that trend continues. Why settle for a 2-tier cake when you can have three additional faux layers to highlight your blinged out monogram cake topper? Do not forget the cupcake wave that is gaining momentum. We have seen cupcakes used as centerpieces to give a whimsical feel to the event then persons can munch on them when it is all over.

This year at Kingston Bridal Week, I had the pleasure of speaking with persons whose companies are ready to provide you with a tantalizing feast on your special day. My taste buds were aroused by the delectable treats I sampled!
sweetness fused with just enough spice from the chili, to make it a pleasant and enjoyable dish. But don’t worry folks, Cuisine Management assured me that while Jamaican dishes are their specialty, they are able to prepare any international cuisine and guarantee a savory and delightful execution! I believe they can pull it off.
“Mouth watering, delicious, wow factor” were the three phrases Glen Watkis used to describe the scrumptious meals his company had prepared. Cuisine Management Services Ltd has transcended the boundaries of just a simple canteen providing “quality food for hospitals,” to a full service catering company for any event. I must admit that while interviewing Glen, who was explaining more about their specialties like deboned curry goat and sweet potato pudding, I was distracted. The piquant aroma of spices, which emanated from Cuisine Management’s fish in chardonnay white wine sauce, caught me completely off guard!
Jadhai’s Gourmet Delight introduced me to a world of pasta goodness! Their Italian-Jamaican fused dishes can be quite a treat for those couples interested in incorporating another cuisine to their menu. Shauna McNab admitted that while her company is home based and she cooks to order, she believes that “our fusion is what makes it [the dishes] different.” She prides herself on making the best lasagna and I put her to the test!
I was presented with a plate of rice and peas, a healthy mix of sautéed vegetables, chicken in a sweet chili sauce and fish in a white wine sauce. I, ravenously, tried the fish first. Each slice was evenly cut and cooked to absolute perfection – not overdone. The fish itself was succulent and no one flavor overpowered the other. It was the perfect balance of spices and alcohol. Their sweet chili chicken had me tempted to chew on the bone. Yes, you heard right! That is when you know that it is well-seasoned and properly cooked; when you just want to spare no part. The chicken was moist, easy to peel off of the bones and my taste buds exploded at the initial
She served me quite the slice of callaloo lasagna. I was a bit hesitant, as I feared that this was a crazy mix, but I dug in. The lasagna skin was soft, not overcooked and definitely not hard or burnt on the outside (a good sign). My fork cut easily through it and I was pleasantly surprised to see the wealth of cheesy goodness that I believe any lasagna should have. The callaloo was well cooked and blended nicely with the fresh herbs and a variety of cheeses. There was a pleasant undertoned sweetness, which lingered on the tongue after the first bite. It left me wanting more! What is dinner without dessert? I have always found that we love traditional fruitcake for weddings. Fay’s Sweet Treasures homemade fruitcake is definitely a desert to invest in.
This mother-daughter partnership sees Mum handling the baking while Dayna deals with the business aspect. “What is a wedding without fruit cake?” laughed Dayna as she explained how this home-based business came into being. Dayna admitted that she wanted to branch out into different ways of presenting cake souvenirs. “It’s about blending the old (traditional cake) and the new (different cake presentations).” She showed me her display of traditional wedding cake designs, fruitcake cupcakes and even fruitcake lollipops. I was curious as to what made her cakes different from any one else’s. She replied by handing me a sample. As I unwrapped the cake, I was hit by the delightful smell of fruits, well-soaked in wine, which permeated them to their core. The moisture, which hit my tongue, was enthralling. I felt the love and homemade care Fay meted out in making these fantastic cakes! But dessert doesn’t only mean cake. Fruits are a new trend at weddings and even as gifts for birthdays and other occasions. One can get a fresh fruit centerpiece for their guests to munch on while they wait on the wedding party or until dinner is served. It’s a healthy, unique touch to your wedding theme. Fruit Blossoms is a small business, about three years old, and is keen on serving up some fruit goodness to Jamaica. Fresh fruit displays, fruit lollies and even alcohol infused fruit lollies can be delectable, decadent treats at your wedding. “We incorporate all fruits signature to Jamaica and that makes these fruit displays so unique,” beamed Kadeen. “Try this!” she said as she handed me a fruit icicle, “you will like it!” And love it, I did! This frozen fruity treat aroused my senses as I unwrapped it. The smell of fresh fruits and the tanginess from the orange enticed my taste buds. Perhaps I was a bit greedy for more of this fruity sensation, but in retrospect the brain freeze was worth it! Healthy and different are two words to sum up Flavours Express’ fresh fruit smoothies! These blends can be excellent treats for kids and adults at any wedding, especially if your guests are all about leading a healthy eating lifestyle! Chris Palmer’s mobile frozen beverage service started off as simply a Friday corporate event. His blends were such a hit that his business has now expanded to catering at parties. An entrepreneur at heart, he enthusiastically discussed his futuristic plans - of packaging these smoothies and making them available at stores – while handing me samples of his blends. I absentmindedly sipped on the first blend and I was instantly enraptured into a state of euphoria. The sweetness of the pineapple juice mingled with the thickness of the blended bananas was indeed a Tropical Explosion you should try! But it was the smooth rush of flavours from the Mango Jack Cruise that won my taste buds. This blend is perfect by itself and could be spiced up with some rum for the more adventurous tasters! Talk about palatable seduction - taste of Kingston brought exactly that!

Renée Strauss “A Match Made in Mobay”
Event covered by: Writer - Damien Williams Photographer - Christopher Fuller
The With Ease Catalogue (WEC) Jamaica team arrived at the tastefully decorated Montego Bay Convention Centre about forty-five minutes before the day’s proceedings were scheduled to start. After all as the ones responsible for the publication of the event magazine, we could not have shown up Jamaica time! The bamboo, bougainvillea, croton and assortment of tropical flora joined the symphony of a steel pan orchestra to create that welcoming island feel. We then made our way into the room where vendors had their booths displayed. It took me a while to pick my jaw up off the floor. It was sheer opulence!!! Cascading floral arrangements; beautifully decorated cakes, some looking like floral arrangements; chocolate treats exquisitely displayed; majestic hues of fuchsia, teal, green, salmon, magenta; champagne fizzed in glasses held by dainty ladies on stilts, mincing pass from booth to booth. And of course, what wedding expo would be complete without wedding dresses? There were some amazing pieces from Bliss Bridals. Tai Flora’s floral booth stole my breath. There was a feel of transcendence – I was transported into a magical wonderland and I am not easily impressed. My first stop for sampling was at the Appleton counter. The concoction of Appleton estate rum, some fruity flavourings and suspicion of nutmeg was simply sinful and I was most happy to indulge. Before I realized, I was on my third glass. By this, the cocktail had snuck passed my taste buds and into my pleasure pathways – releasing tons of serotonin between the synapses. I was fired up and ready for the day. The DJ kept patrons’ feet shuffling to an eclectic mix of Caribbean and international popular music – some that made the waistline roll a bit. I noticed some of our friends from the North making yeoman efforts to catch the rhythm. It was evident that they were really into it. A lively emcee kept the mingling crowd entertained with his animated personality, a few jokes and many samplings (a tad too many) of his vocal ability. One husband-to-be won a bottle of wine compliments of Moet as the only husband present doing bridal shopping, while the future Mrs. was busy at work back in Kingston at the University Hospital of the
West Indies. The emcee tried desperately to get them to express freely & publicly their love for each other (on speaker phone). But you know us Caribbean people and our apparent aversion to expressing love verbally… It was cute to watch the husband to be convolute into a ball of shyness as he told his spouse he loves her. There were even games. I participated. I would have won. Alas, my partner seemed a conservative, Christian woman and cost me the grand prize because she refused to fold her legs around my waist as we tried desperately to stand on a small piece of newspaper without any part of our feet overlapping, as we danced until the DJ stopped the music. We were knocked out in the third round. *pouts* Meanwhile, the liquor kept flowing as was the food and decadent chocolate treats. I had scotch bonnet flavoured chocolate. Yes, you read correctly. Scotch Bonnet as in that pepper that is an explosion of fire and is omnipresent in Jamaican cuisine. Smooth, sweet with a hint of tang and that signature explosive heat at the back of your tongue and all that chocolate-y goodness! Hmmmmmm! I am reliving the experience just writing about it. Then, there was the formal opening session: invocation, speeches from the Jamaica Tourist Board; CEO of the Montego Bay Convention Centre; Peter Shoucair, producer of the expo and other sponsors. And, of-course, the guest of honour, a feisty, fiery, ebullient, 5’ 2” (approximately) redhead, Renée Strauss. She was a bundle of light and life and laughter as she gave a spirited presentation on the makings of a memorable wedding, which was evidently wellreceived. One of the things she shared was that she observed that there is more heart and soul here, in Jamaica, than anywhere else in the world that she had ever visited. She commended the wide variety of beautiful flowers found here on the island and said she recently did an event in Canada, where there was an overwhelming desire, by participants, to get married in Jamaica. She was so warm and down-to-earth; walking around hugging

However our “Date Nights” seem to be much better when our son is with us. Our love is so much stronger with him in our lives… He makes us laugh. He reminds us of our love and union. He inspires us. He reminds us what true love, dedication and commitment is. He motivates us! WEC: Many couples go into marriage thinking that the unsolved issues they have will automatically be solved with “tying the knot”. What advice do you have to give to such individuals? Emprezz: “Tying the knot” I believe changes everything because it is saying, I now share my life with you. We are now committed. We are now two individuals living as one. Therefore, it should solve the issues if the idea is that I will listen to you, I will respect you, I will be honest with you and I will make sacrifices for you. I must say though, that if the person has personality traits and mental issues they may not go away. One should be willing to live with it and if they can’t then they shouldn’t get married ‘expecting’ that it will all change. You have to understand the moral principal that drives your partner and be honest in asking if the two of you are compatible before "tying the knot".

hen the honeymoon is over and the wedding gifts are unpacked the real marriage begins. We no longer have the party feeling and the vacation is over and guess what? Your partner is not going home to his/her apartment. For many newly-weds who never lived together this can be very unsettling. Living together is a big adjustment and it requires plenty of patience and certainly can take the shine off the honeymoon. So how do we keep the flame alive among the dirty dishes and the laundry? First of all you have to get rid of the fantasy and myth that you have been believing and realize that you are the one who makes the magic. You have to become your partner’s love genie. Keep the romance alive in your marriage by paying attention. Typically when we think of romance we think of women and we think of chocolates, wine and roses. What about romance and men?
KEEPING THE SPICE IN YOUR MARRIAGE … love and intimacy from honeymoon and beyond
It may be a little different for a man this doesn't mean that men don't appreciate the wine and chocolate type of romance but you may have to do something less run of the mill for your man to feel special. Begin with compliments let your partner know when they have done a good job. If it's something you would like them to do again let them know how much it means to you that s/he takes care of the little things. Psychologists say it takes 15 compliments in a day to make the average human being feel happy. Shower your partner with compliments that are genuine. First of all, men like it when their women dress attractively, keep fit and are pleasant and women like the same in their men. So make a special effort to wear the outfit that your partner likes or wear your hair the way that s/he prefers. Throw out the baggy T shirts and droopy briefs, these are definitely not sexy. Stop saying they’re comfortable, track suits are comfortable, but they sure aren’t sexy. Get some cheap and cheerful lingere for you and yours and have fun taking it off. Second, send your partner love notes, s(t)ext messages and hide little love notes in his/her briefcase or shirt pocket. If your partner is travelling during this season you can tuck little notes inside the shirts and socks s/he will be wearing while they are gone. Your partner will enjoy the anticipating of finding your treats. Surprise your partner with no-occasion gifts. Silk underwear, sprinkled with chocolate kisses is a great way to send a romantic reminder. Have the car washed and polished, they will certainly be impressed that you thought of their needs instead of yours. Coupons for a spa treat are also a great idea.

Officiants & Emcee
For men, think about the thing that make your partner’s day busy and help her with some of those chores. The more you help around the house the more time you will have for loving. Make her load lighter and she will be able to light up your life. For women, they say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and for many men that is true. You can think of special treat to cook for your partner. You can surprise him with breakfast, lunch or dinner. It doesn’t have to be the evening meal. Be aware of the little ways in which the spontaneity is going out of your relationship and your love making. If you have settled into a routine of sex at night and all physical contact being a signal for sex, vary it a little. Think of new times of day and new places that
This will give your partner a blame-free break and some quiet time. Don't forget to flirt with your new wife or husband. Praise you partner when he or she pleases you sexually, let your partner know what you like. Don’t be shy about expressing your most positive emotions. If you find it hard to say it in words, try one of the other four love languages, time, gifts, service or touch. Pay attention to what your partner mentions as things or activities that s/he likes and make a list of them. Try to make these things a reality for your partner, perhaps once a month. Everyone appreciates the gift of attention.
Make a commitment to enjoy something together. Learn about one sport that he or she likes. Read up on it, watch some games and join him the next time he settles in to watch the sport or she watches the soap. This way they will know that his interests are important to you. If you enjoy cooking, make their favourite meal. Your partner may feel more touched by things you do for him/her personally. For new dads make him a special card from baby, use water colours to add baby's hand print and include Dad's favourite photo with baby. Dr Chapman in The Five Love Languages speaks about the ways in which each of us experiences love. Chapman says that each of us shows our love in different ways. Some people need words of affirmation, others need quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service and still others use physical touch. Praise, when it’s genuine, is a great way of boosting your partner’s ego. Quality time means putting aside everything but your partner’s needs and spending time with them. Sharing in their interests, asking them about their day. Many partners enjoy receiving small tokens, gifts of love that may have special meaning for both of you. If your partner goes out of their way to carry out small kindnesses for you, these acts of service may well be what they would like to receive in return. Many more of us respond to touch as a sign of love. Your partner may enjoy caresses and simply being cuddled. Find out which of these is your partner’s Love Language and show them love in the ways that have the most meaning for them. Finally, don’t nag. Go on a nagging diet. Yes, decide to abstain from nagging, making negative comments, saying anything that could disrupt the harmony or hurt his feelings. Try it for a few days and see the difference it makes in your communication. The next time he raises an issue that you find vexing, listen, don't judge.

WHY GET ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS DONE?
H
e popped the big question and you said yes! Excitement is in the air, you just got engaged to the love of your life! Now you’re on a roll; you have a date set; the venue picked out as well as an idea of the dress you want to wear. Now it’s time to find your photographer, this can be a pretty overwhelming task. The engagement session can be extremely helpful in making sure that you pick the photographer that best fits you and your fiancés unique personality and style. Engagement photos are important, they allow you to tell your love story, the story of how your love grew, your unique style as a couple, what you normally wear, where you like to hang out together, what you like to do and what brings you close together. You and your fiancé have probably never had “professional” photographs taken together.

...you make me complete
Sure, on your wedding day you will have hundreds of photos taken, but you will also be dressed up in a wedding dress and your groom will be in a suit. What about capturing the “every day you”? That’s where engagement session comes in. While the engagement photo-shoot allows you the opportunity to share your love story and do something different, you also get to know your photographer and see how he or she works and you will get to see images of yourselves long before the wedding. Additionally the photographer gets to understand you and your style. Once you have your engagement images there are many things you can do with them. They can be given, as gifts to the family; you can make a small album or a coffee table box for yourselves. Engagement picture may be used in your wedding program, invitation, or in a save-the-date card. Whatever you choose to do, be creative, have some fun, create some art and make the moment memorable.

'DEBT' DO US PART?

inancial stress is the cause of many broken marriages. In fact, CNBC claims that 90% of marriages break up because of money problems. While money may not be the sole reason for a couples’ split, it can be a major contributing factor because money helps us to take care of our needs and maintain a good standard of living. When we don’t have enough to take care of our needs, especially basic needs, then problems arise and issues that could be viewed as minor infractions in times of monetary wellness are magnified in times of monetary lack.
about money management to deal with the present and future needs; couples need to take a joint approach to managing their finances. As the old adage says “one han cyaan clap”. Every couple is unique so coming up with a plan of action for your money will be different for each pair. But what are some of the things that couples can do not to fall into the debt trap? Here are a few suggestions:
1. Discuss how each of you feels about money issues and then create your own financial philosophy. Your financial philosophy defines your beliefs Therefore, money management should be something that a couple dis- about money and how you will treat it. An example of a financial philosophy could be: “As a couple, we commit to being responsible with our finances. We are masters of our money and we will use it as the tool it is to achieve financial goals for ourselves and our family while meeting our expenses and contributing to the welfare of others who may be vulnerable or in need of financial assistance. Like everything else in our relationship, we will be open and honest about money matters and always decide jointly how our money will be used. Spending on what we need will take priority as we seek ways to increase our income or our ability to earn so that debt will not do us part”.
The same goes for the husband. Do not be afraid to talk to your wife if she goes off tangent. In talking though, try to stay away from blaming the other party as that will only make the situation worse. First, try to find out the reason behind your partner’s “irresponsible” action. It could be that his/her action is a symptom of a financial philosophy or budget that is unrealistic or ineffective based on your current needs. Also, talk to other couples within your circle about how they manage their money. I guarantee that you will get some useful tips! Sealing your love for another in a marriage relationship is one of life’s greatest experiences. However, marriage does come with its challenges but none that a couple who is covenanted to each other cannot overcome. There are many things that can come between couples but a willingness to communicate openly and to work together will help to overcome any difficulty. Sam Ewing said that “in many instances, marriage vows would be more accurate if the phrase were changed to “until debt do us part”. Don’t let failure to deal with money matters make your marriage one of these instances!
3.Develop and utilize a budget. Do this from the get go! One of the best ways to put your financial philosophy into practice is by creating a budget. Start by using a budget to plan for your wedding. This will give you greater insight into each person’s position on money and will highlight issues that may need to be addressed before you tie the knot. Your budget can be as simple or as complex as you need it to be for the time period you decide. A budget outlines income and expenses and helps you to keep track of the extent to which you remain true to what you have agreed and what changes to be made if you’ve gone astray. More importantly, stick to your Managing your money and being able to sleep at nights allow you to focus budget! more on deepening and strengthening your relationship and building your family. Now that is priceless! 4. Decide to start your life together in the black, not in the red. In other words, your wedding should not be the first source of any financial stress in your marriage. After the wedding is over, you have a life to live and you need money to live it! It is better to cut back and live within your financial means than to splurge on a fancy wedding and be left with financial trouble that is sure to begin a rift within your relationship. This is the beginning of sorrows that may bring your blissful life together to an unexpectedly quick end. 5. Depend on each other to stick to your financial philosophy and budget. The Bible says that two are better than one because the results are so much better. A marriage is a partnership where both persons are working towards the same goal. It is unfair for one party to be sticking to the plan when the other party has decided to throw caution to the wind and spend wildly. Therefore, each person in the relationship is responsible for helping the other adhere to the financial plan. If as the wife you see that your husband going off track, talk to him about it and remind him of your plans and how what he is doing will affect those plans. 72
