Dr. George Juetersonke Ideal Protein Weight Loss By Brenda Gracely
George Juetersonke, DO, and his staff of medical professionals offer personalized services to address a variety of issues that many women will eventually face, including menopause, osteoporosis, hormone replacement, thyroid problems, anxiety, and depression. Perhaps most importantly, they emphasize the importance of weight loss, which, in many cases, can solve innumerable health issues. “Many of our patients are considered ‘hard-to-treat patients’ who come to us because they have not found success with traditional treatment plans,” Dr. Juetersonke explains. “Many doctors treat a patient’s illness, while we focus upon the patient as a whole. We take the time to thoroughly and effectively listen to each of our patients.” Dr. Juetersonke, a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his wife, Sandra, who is a registered nurse, have been treating patients in Colorado Springs since 1984. Early on in their professional partnership, they embraced the vision to integrate prevention measures into their treatment plans. Their colleague, Kim Brown, is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in hormone replacement therapy for men and women. Kim also works with many patients who are struggling with sleep issues, anxiety, weight loss, night sweats, and libido. “I’ve worked with Dr. J for seven years, and I also believe in treating the whole person,” Kim says. “I’ve finally found my passion.” Kim says her initial visit with each patient often lasts two hours, and she works hard at asking all the right questions to assess her patients’ needs. Lea Anne Torres is Dr. Juetersonke’s office manager and has also served as his Ideal Protein Weight Loss coach for the past four years. After following the program herself and losing 47 pounds in four months, she encouraged Dr. Juetersonke to incorporate the program into his practice. The medically designed Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method was developed in Europe more than 25 years ago by Dr. Tran Tien Chanh, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, who amassed more than 20 years of research on weight loss and dietary behaviors. Clients see weight loss results and gain valuable nutritional knowledge that will help them sustain their results throughout their new lifestyle. The science behind the diet is to make sure the pancreas doesn’t produce too much insulin, explains Lea Anne. “Too much insulin causes hunger and sugar cravings, along with either an inability to lose weight or gaining back with a vengeance the weight already lost. After following the program for only three to four days, hunger and cravings will disappear because insulin stores are depleted.”

The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method is not a “highDO PC; Sandy protein” diet—it is simply an “enough protein” diet. The Juetersonke RN; Lea method features easy-to-prepare foods. Each product is Anne Torres; and Kim a meal replacement, and some can be mixed with others Brown, RN MS NP-C to create more options. Lea Anne emphasizes that each serving is individually packaged, and the body absorbs nearly 100 percent of the protein. Dedicated weight loss coaches like Lea Anne provide weekly support sessions and ongoing education. “The program has an answer for everyone’s needs,” Lea Anne says. “There is an alternative protocol for people with diabetes and one for people who want to follow the program but just can’t give up certain foods.” Results are repeatable by following the four phases of the program. Phase four is a structured 12-month stabilization period to help maintain weight loss success. New for 2018 is the IdealSmart Platform and Mobile App, which enables clients to communicate with the IdealSmart wristband and scale to help monitor weight loss. There is a substantial upgrade to the current IdealSmart App that provides an all-new interface with support for Fitbit, Apple Watch, and the Samsung Gear devices for step tracking. Pat, a committed Ideal Protein Weight Loss client, says, “A year ago, I noticed that a friend of mine had lost quite a bit of weight. She told me she had enrolled in the Ideal Protein Weight Loss program.” Pat was intrigued and discovered that the program was offered at Dr. Juetersonke’s office. “After visiting with Lea Anne Torres for my initial free consultation, I returned within a few days to sign up for the program,” Pat continues. “Although Lea Anne said my goal of losing just four pounds a month was too low to fit with the program, I stuck with my plan and gave her a guarantee that I would follow the program for six months. I found that to be quite easy. I discovered I actually liked raw vegetables and I really could live without my pasta, bread, butter, and sweets.” Pat has been on the program for almost a year. At the six-month mark, she had lost 40 pounds and many inches. “Ideal Protein worked for me,” she concludes, “and I know it will work for you, too.” Dr. Juetersonke’s office is located at 3525 American Drive, in Colorado Springs.
