FOSTERING A CULTURE OF RESPECT: Member Etiquette at Our Club

BY RYAN BILL GENERAL MANAGER

As spring approaches and the vibrant hues of nature begin to bloom around our Club, it’s crucial for us to reflect on the essence of our community: respect and camaraderie. Our Club isn’t just a place to play golf or tennis; it’s a haven where members come together to enjoy shared experiences and forge lasting connections. Central to this experience is the observance of proper member/member social etiquette and the respectful treatment of our dedicated staff.

One of the cornerstones of our community is mutual respect among members. Regardless of one’s tenure or financial contribution, every member deserves to feel valued and appreciated. With this in mind, we should be mindful of our interactions with one another, ensuring that kindness and courtesy guide our conduct. Whether on the golf course, in the Founders Cafe, or at social events, please extend a warm greeting, engage in thoughtful conversation, and demonstrate empathy toward our fellow members.

Let us be mindful of our language, especially in the presence of children. Cursing or using inappropriate language can create an uncomfortable environment for families and young ones. Let’s all strive to maintain a decorous atmosphere, welcoming to members of all ages. Whether engaging in conversation or expressing frustration, please choose words thoughtfully, ensuring speech reflects the values of respect and consideration for others. Together, we can cultivate an environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.

It’s also imperative we uphold the same standard of respect when interacting with our hardworking staff. These individuals play an integral role in maintaining the excellence of our Club, from meticulously groomed fairways to exceptional culinary experiences. It is important to treat them with the dignity and appreciation they deserve. Simple gestures such as expressing gratitude for their service, addressing them by name, and maintaining a friendly demeanor can go a long way in fostering a positive working environment.

As we embark on another season of camaraderie and recreation, let us reaffirm our dedication to upholding the highest standards of member etiquette. By treating each other and our staff with respect, kindness, and gratitude, we not only enrich our own experiences but also contribute to the thriving community that defines our Country Club.

Here’s to a season filled with camaraderie, mutual respect, and unforgettable memories.
