2016—Meet Local Glass Artists A HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE MANY VOLUNTEERS WHO HELP OUR ORGANIZATION RUN SMOOTHLY AS WE CONTINUE TO GROW AND SERVE THE COMMUNITY. 2016 is the Year of Glass in Southwest Michigan. Watch our website and Facebook page for regular updates on Glass Sculptures in the ar-‐ ea and exci ng events.

LOCAL GLASS ARTISTS Pam Bower Margie Ma ce

Pam was introduced to glass art through a friend invi ng her to a TGIF class at Waterstreet Glass-‐ works over 5 years ago. Prior to working with glass she dabbled in various other art forms including oil pain ng and ceramics. Her first college experience was studying set design for the theatre. Since that me she has gone on to a long career in the corporate world and is so very happy to have found herself back enjoying the crea ve process. Pam has served on the Water-‐ street board for the past three years and is very proud on the en-‐ ergy it brings to this community.

2

Margie started her rela onship with Waterstreet Glassworks and glass as a medium in the fall of 2004. Driving past one day , she discovered a “Glass Classes” sign in the window. She stopped in and found an electric atmosphere that a racted her and it has held her hear ever since. She started work-‐ ing on the torch making beads but soon gravitated to glassblowing, taking every class possible from Jerry Catania and visi ng ar sts. Margie has had her art featured in many area galleries and has served on the Board of Directors. Margie is sharing her love of glass by teaching.
