LCP EELECTION IMPRESSION

KHUT KHUN VOREAKWADH Former LCVP OGX 1314

After the LCP election in the past week, every LC could finally find its elected LCP who will be managing the LC in the upcoming months. To me, as a former AIESEC member, I personally think that the outcome was a great success for AIESEC Cambodia. It signifies that the organization has been building a strong leadership pipeline for the upcoming generations. Additionally, seeing the potential that every candidate has during the speech and presentation added another important positive impression for me as a former member. On a different note, the presence of the newly recruited members at the election also boosted my optimism for the future of this organization, for participation from the new members is very important in building a strong AIESEC culture among the new members and upcoming generation as a whole.

As I participated at the national LCP election on January 11, 2015, I was surprised by the energy and the sense of motivation from every candidates. I felt that they are ready to challenge everything even they were not sure whether they will be elected or not. From the opening to the closing speech, the candidates were full of energy and motivation, they tried their best to showcase their plan on how to bring their local chapter forward and make the Gen2015 happen. Most surprisingly, I can say it was the biggest LCP election ever which more than 100 members of AIESEC in Cambodia were there to witnessed this process. And I really appreciated the people who did not only physically join but also brought the professionalism within themselves during the election. Ultimately, it was the very amazing and exciting election ever I have joined since each local committee could elect their president for the upcoming term. 23.01.2015

MCP EELECTION IMPRESSION Participating at the National President election last Saturday, I was really proud and excited that we finally found the next legends of this entity to continue the legacy and to achieve the organizational goal. Even there were not many participants, the election still ran well due to the collaboration from each local committee representatives with the election committee as well as chair. From the opening speech till the closing speech, both candidates never failed to show their passion and high commitment in their presented plan. They have believed in themselves that they have been ready and good enough to be the leader of this entity. And ultimately I believe that the elected President will deliver his promises and plan to make AIESEC 2015 happen. - SOK SOTHEAREACH It is my third months of AIESEC journey and it is also the first time for me to see the process of MCP election. It was a great chance to see two potential MCP candidates came up and spoke up about their vision and strategies to improve and make a change for a better AIESEC in Cambodia. Their experiences, their tough journey, their visions, and their purposes inspired me and made me think what I should do to be a person who can make a better change for my own LC. I was impressed to see that they can achieve their goal. I honestly want to be a person like them. I want to have a clear vision toward my LC and also my own future, develop myself, and I want to be a person that my LC needs and my country needs. - KIM CHAN TEPY 23.01.2015

AWARD ARCHIEVERS IMPRESSION To me, an award is a recognition of what you have done and what you have leant during your AIESEC journey. During the Gala night at National Congress, I couldn't believe my eyes that my name appears on the award list. Suddenly, people started to called my name out loud. I was really surprised and excited which I couldn't know what to say. It was the first time that I got such a thing. I started to think of what I have done during the 10 months that I have been in AIESEC. Then I realized that it is not about the duration that I have been here but it is about what I have leant during this time. Thanks to AIESEC that make me know that I am much more better than whom I was before. - SEK DARAKUNTHEA The moment I saw my name on the slide of the announcement, my hand touched my both eyes and felt my skin whether it was real or it was just a dream! Let's me sincerely thank to all my idols in AIESEC IFL for your motivation, inspiration and for providing me many chances to develop my skills and to make me growth as a person. Without your support, this re-colonization will never ever happen to me, and I obviously regarded it as the best memorable achievement in my AIESEC journey. - ANG VANNARY To me, award is not just a paper to express your achievement, but it represents motivation and work that finally paid off. I am really grateful to my surroundings especially my LC, my VP, my members and my CC team. Without their help and motivation, I would not be able to get that awesome and unexpected reward. - KHIM LEAKKENA Being a part of this entity had changed who I was before. As I remember back then, I’ve no idea what a real teamwork is all about and especially, I’ve never thought of making any impact to the society. I was so surprised when my name was called at Gala night and I have never imagined I would receive this priceless award from my LCP. Meanwhile, I want to thank my LCVP as well as my TL team because without them I wouldn’t have the motivation to work this hard and get the award. Thus, the award is my big motivation to further my AIESEC journey. Thank AIESEC for everything! - MAM MONIRATH 23.01.2015

IMPRESSION AFTER JOINING NC NC was one unforgettable moment, a moment I would always look back to many years from now. It was astonishing how 3 days can change so much; from a girl who sat in the corner and had no courage, whose face and chins being down, to the girl who confidently raises her hand to speak up what she believes. Listening to all those truly inspiring leaders has made me realize my real goal and fully understand my potential. Moreover, I am profoundly blessed to have met so many amazing people and become friends with them. It’s my honor to be a part of this one incredible NC 2014: Age of Niron and… I’m proud to be an AIESECer. - SEN KEOMONY For me , NC is kind of a good as well as new experience when I think about it more deeply and carefully . But at first , I was quite shocked as I have never imagined or expected things like these like punishment, sleepover which we pulled all nighters . I was quite speechless sometimes when we were there. Feeling lethargic, tired, and hungry was one thing but not being involved or participating actively was another thing.Anyway, after deliberate consideration, it turned out to be such a good experience or chance to get to know about AIESEC, and I’ve learn to adapt myself to a new environment, to communicate and work with other people without losing the way I am and who I am. Remain positive ! - EAN SOKSEREI

NC was the first conference I’ve joined. It was both spectacular and awkward. At that time I went through many things that I couldn’t adapt myself to. For example, such things as two sleepless nights, bathroom with broken locker, and punishments were very uncommon for me. Yet, NC taught me how to be more patient. Moreover, I’ve learnt a lot from many MCs with different backgrounds and leadership skill. Plus, I also have a great chance to gain practical experiences. In short, this conference has kept me motivated. - TAK TONGHENG

MY EXCHANFE LIFE

Honestly speaking, before I reached Malaysia I feel so thrilled and can't wait so see what would happen in there. At the same time, I also felt so frightened and surrounded by fear as it was my first time ever to travel abroad alone. I was afraid that I would get lost, kidnapped, or no one would pick me up, but to be fair I needed to overcome this difficulty and to gain the experience that I had never got before. Guess what, after I arrived there, everything seem to be fine as the people there were friendly, approachable and appear to have high sense of humor as well. Talking about my project, I was there to make a conference happen, called “Northern Youth Leadership Conference 2014.” The conference aimed to activate leadership to high school students. During the conference, delegates were very energetic and active as they showed their potential and enjoyed participation. In return, we got many positive feedbacks, and it was really inspiring when they said that I as a facilitator could motivate, influence, and change their mindset. Hard work really paid off, as some of the delegates would be able to conduct very astonishing mini workshop at their school after the conference in order to inspire the other students. So it was a big impact that other exchange participants and I could manage to accomplish, and we were so delighted with this huge achievement. Before the internship end, we also went to one NGO, called “Sun Rise Organization.” The purpose of going there was to play, to motivate, to exercise, and to stay close with the people over there. Just so you know, most of them are disabled and homeless. On the bright side, I found it very interesting that young and old folks over there really enjoyed the moment as we were there to cheer them up and they wish that we could be there next time. It really touched my heart as I could see that those kinds of people also need love and respect from the other people. Lastly, I would like to give a big salute and really appreciate AIESEC that created this priceless and invaluable program. I could learn that Malaysia is a multi-cultural country, which consists of many ethnic groups including Malays, Chinese and Indians. On the other hand, there is no doubt that Malaysia is the number one food paradise in Asia, which comes from many ethnics. Needlessly to say, it was a life-changing experience that could change my perspective and shape my behavior to be a better person. I felt homesick at first, but I need to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone or else I will never know how big the world is. Wholeheartedly, I could not find words to describe, but in overall, it was an experience that I cannot learn from school or textbook, hence I would like to challenge Cambodian youth to take up this challenge and get ready to be a global citizen to look up ahead to be a great leader. - SREY PHEAROM
