Parks and Recreations is taking off in the UK due to both great reviews and BBC4’s airing of episodes. Aziz performs with the same cheeky charm as Tommy, his character in the NBC comedy. Using issues and moments from his life alongside explosive and frantic pop culture referencing, Aziz’s stories are energetic and packed to the colon with belly laughs. His increasing popularity as both a comedian and an actor is reflected by his move from Soho theatre shows to the pinnacle venue for London Comedians, The Apollo
This Pulitzer prize winning play premieres at the Bush Theatre, London mid-may starring Hari Dhillon and Kirsty Bushell and much of June is sold out already. The play centres on a dinner party which becomes a contentious mix of subjects too taboo for upper class types to normally discuss at the dinner table including race, religion and sexism. The escalation continues as each character’s political gymnastics prepares a situation where somebody has to fall.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
Their positive and afrocentric attitude is miles apart from gangsta rap which also broke into the charts in the early 90’s.
I think we appreciate what the world has to offer, not just the ghetto community or the US, I think we really understand the world is important to what we talk about and I think they get that from our music.
With upcoming UK festival performances this Summer, WUWO Spoke to founding member, Speech, to explore what it’s like to be one of alternative hiphop’s most celebrated groups.
Alternate and conscious hip hop has been on an increase in UK in the past few years with artists such as Akala and Lowkey making massive gains; why do you think this is? I think people are tired of substance-less music and I think the balance, especially with hip hop has been so off that they now feel the need to welcome people with something to say.
How would you describe your upcoming album ‘Delusions of adequacy’ It’s a very hard-hitting topic-oriented record and it has pretty much a whole landscape of music on it, it has trap music, afrobeat, hip hop and jazz. I think it’s a really special album. What does it take to merge such different genres? It’s natural to us, the band is a pretty big band and we all have very interesting musical tastes. We’re always going to try to mix in some different things that don’t normally mix together. Would you say your message is more, less or as relevant as when you first started? Just as relevant. Maybe more relevant because time is ticking and I think the urgency of some of the things we tend to talk about is even more urgent as the new generation is further and further away from the movement and concerns that people knew about in the past. How do you stay so optimistic in the face of all of this? Do you not get upset or angry? I get upset and angry a lot of times. At the end of the day the music tends to be a therapeutic process where we’re finally deciding to use the anger as a catalyst for change. We tend to swing towards solutions instead of just yelling about the problems. What has changed in the music industry since you started? Usually it’s the way music has been promoted, especially here in the US, it’s totally different. Corporations have doubled up all the other companies that used to exist, so you have fewer people making decisions for more people and that is a problem. Do you think piracy is a legitimate way to combat this or is it part of the problem? You know honestly I think there’s a responsibility for the people to make sure the artist is taken care of but that takes a lot of dedication and some don’t understand what’s going on behind the scenes in the industry. I like the fact that people are downloading music that they love whether it’s free or they’re paying for it, but I think if fans knew how small a share of any record deal a band gets then they would want to make sure they support the band because that is what they are excited about; what creative people do. You’ve had chart success in the UK as well as in the US, why do you think Arrested Development resonates so well with people internationally? I like to think that we’re just geniuses! I’m only joking. I think our music is a mish-mash of different energies that the world can relate to no matter where you are. wuwomagazine.com

How does it feel to have Arrested Development, a TV show come along with the same name? Is it a problem or does it give you more publicity? Well it’s a huge problem because its confused a lot of people. The show was released a couple of days ago in America and it’s given us a lot of publicity because the name is everywhere and people are remembering ‘Oh yeah! Arrested Development’ and others who are fans of ours are like ‘this is cool you know? So I think it’s done both. It’s tough for any band to survive when a TV show takes their name. Historically; Living Colour, a rock group; their demise was partially because of the TV show In Living Colour with the Wayans in America. There are a lot of examples of this stuff but I think we fare extremely well compared to many other bands so I’m really grateful. Is there an irony in the fact that your band name has been taken by a TV show about a white upper class family? [Laughs] it’s totally an irony. Life’s an irony; I think our whole career is pretty much a bunch of irony, so yeah I think so. I think that’s what we get for choosing the name Arrested Development or trying to get ourselves and people to develop. If you had a jukebox and a pound for five tracks, what will your five tracks be? Well it depends on the day because I’m a music lover but if I had to choose I’d say Public Enemy’s Rebel Without a Pause, De La Soul’s Me, Myself and I, Bob Marley’s Redemption Song, Joni Mitchell’s Help Me, Prince’s Ballad of Dorothy Parker. What makes a live show amazing? To me it’s when a crowd is totally with us. They’re excited about seeing us but they’re also willing to take the journey with us because to me its like making love; it’s truly intimate and it truly feels like we’re there for each other. What about festivals? I LOVE the outdoors period, and a festive atmosphere is something that always moves me to my core! I grew up around festivals, my dad owned a roasted corn booth at a music festival in Milwaukee, so it’s part of my DNA. What effect do you think Arrested Development has had on you over the past 20 years? It’s changed my life. 20 years of this group has allowed me to see the world, it has allowed me to meet some of the most beautiful and amazing people, it has allowed me to meet my wife and it has given me – to some extent – a paradise type of life so I’m super grateful

@whatsupwhatson
to Arrested Development. How does it feel to have played such a big part in other people’s lives? It is literally a dream come true, especially when you look at the odds of those that made it out of Milwaukee (which is where I’m originally from). I think if anyone can imagine the dreams they have in their heart and seeing the dream come true, that’s exactly how I feel. So you always wanted to go into music? Definitely. When I was a kid I was inspired by Michael Jackson, and that made me want to have some sort of impact in my career and that has definitely happened. Is there a particular moment you see as the band’s first break through? Yes, we were in North Carolina on our way to a gig, and there was a line of fans wrapped around the block. I asked my road manager “who are we opening up for?” She answered it’s just Arrested Development performing! That was a defining moment for us! How do you feel about your biggest tracks like Mr. Wendal and Tennessee now? Do they take you back to the beginning or is each time you perform them a new experience? Those songs are so special to me and always will be. Tennessee was written because of the death of my grandmother and my brother all in the same week. Mr. Wendal was really about homeless people that I met. So for many reasons those songs hit me hard every night!
wuwomagazine.com
Arrested Development has been at the forefront of the conscious hip-hop movement through donating money to Nelson Mandela and the ANC to help put an end to Apartheid, donating $20,000 to UNICEF for women in the Congo and donating half of the proceeds for Mr. Wendal to the National coalition of the homeless. How have you managed to maintain this ethos within the music business and did you make a conscious decision to take a bit of a step back after chart success? Definitely, big time fame, is not for us. It doesn’t match our personalities and hearts. We’re more about the common man and woman. Families, love and integrity. It’s the anti-rockstar sentiment. What do you think you’d be if you weren’t a musician? A teacher. Finally, what other projects have you got in the pipeline for 2013 and beyond? We’re about to release a very cool new album called, Delusions of Adequacy, which we hope your readers will buy and support, and I’ve started a new Radio show called, Musical Safari it’s full of mixes and music advice!

MARA GALEAZZI
13
Mara Galeazzi
Mara Galeazzi is a principal dancer at the Royal Opera House in London, 20 years ago Mara started her career here and in July it ends here as she retires from ballet. We met up to talk about sex, drugs and karaoke.
So Mayerling is the last performance you’re doing professionally but it was also your first, how does this one compare to your first? It’s very different. My first one was in 1993 and I was only 19, it is interesting doing the same ballet as when I started 20 years ago. Artistically, my experience has changed over the 20 years I’ve spent on stage through doing different roles in many different ballets. Every time it’s different, you have a different approach and a different way of thinking and a different level of confidence as well. For people who have never been to the ballet before, what should they expect? A lot of people who come want to see the pretty fairies and tutus, but there’s lots more to it than that, our company specialises in dramatic performances, it’s more interesting than tutus. Was Black Swan a fair depiction of Ballet? I don’t think the film was very good advertising for ballerinas, they pick the worst of everything you could possibly find in a ballerina and put them together. The acting was amazing and the ballerina was good, but ballet is not like that. Yes it’s competitive but we don’t kill each other for a role. There is jealously like there is everywhere. We start very young so we have a very young mentaltity, but as you grow up as an artist it becomes an art not a nasty competition. How important is starting young? It’s very important because we finish early. It’s a physical job so your body takes the shape of the technique, becoming flexible for the right movement so you train from a young age for that reason. As you get older your body gets stiffer and uncoordinated. So when you’re young you pick up the best of your ability.
Is ballet changing? Yes, I think it’s very important that we move on, the world is moving on. But it’s also very important to keep the tradition. I find it fascinating how many dancers can do so many styles. How do you think you’ll be feeling upon your last night? I think it will be very emotional, very surreal. It’s very close, I’m starting to get the feeling there will be lots of tears! Not just because it will be the last time I dance in the Royal Opera House, but because it’s like leaving a big family. I left my real family when I was 10. Now I’m leaving my second family. How different is ending your career in this role compared to starting it in this role? I was very young and I was looking up at the principle male who was playing Rudolph so it was that excitement of meeting and dancing with the male dancer of the company. Now it’s a different excitement. It is the excitement of being on stage, playing something while trying to find more details in the role because you understand it even more now. In the current performance, playing with Edward Watson is exciting because we have a great partnership and it’s great fun. What song will always remind you of the Royal Opera House? That titanic song by Celine Dion! Every year we go to Japan and do karaoke. This is my song, even though everybody takes the mickey out of me! So whenever we play music in the studio they always sing it for me. This year I won’t be in Japan, but hopefully they’ll Skype me in. I’m a terrible singer though!
How do you spot that same spark, talent and energy that they spotted in you? It’s rare to find a dancer who can act. It’s very common to find a wonderful technician, amazing, I can’t compete! Sometimes you’ll find a dancer who is maybe not as technical, but you can see the special side, you can feel the difference, it’s natural.

LOST AND FOUND
LOST AND FOUND
Lost and Found If you’ve never lost a phone or a wallet on a night out, you’re a better person than most. The rest of us, however, have known that oh-my-god-I-can’t-have-left-it-oh-I-did moment intimately. From coffins to prescriptions, we asked a variety of lost property offices about the oddest things the general public leave behind. Turns out you’re all a very weird bunch, especially when festivals, music or alcohol is involved:
“We got a wheelchair once, which was worrying. Maybe a miracle took place.”
“We get so many coats and scarves you could probably form some sort of clothes shop. But the weirdest things include a fully dressed mannequin, a shower curtain, the cast from someone’s broken arm, a false arm and a landline telephone.”
“A plastic cow, tins of cat food, a set of false teeth and a monkey onesie”
“A baby’s shoe. Lots of lipbalm. A pair of crutches.”
“Erm excluding Gay Pride paraphernalia (which we won’t go into) we often find singular shoes in the ladies toilets. Which is bizarre because you’d think people would notice.”
“A combo TVVCR player, two pot plants (one of basil one of parsley), A Michael Jackson mask and a bra covered in one direction twitter account names.”
“Amid the usual sunglasses, wallets, phones and passports, probably the oddest and most concerning was a prescription for heart medication.”

Every month the WUWO team trawls the internet, hangs around in music shops, goes to the cinema and sits in front of the telly. We compress a month’s worth of intensive procrastination into WUWO Likes, a brief guide to this month in media. Album Queens of the Stone Age – Like Clockwork A QOTSA follow up to Era Vulgaris has been in the pipeline since 2008, but until last August there was little action. 10 months, one single and a load of creepy music videos later, their self-produced album is out and has been heralded as a return to common ground as Dave Grohl returns on drums with the same sludgy sound as their early releases. The most curious feature is the range of special guests on the record which includes Sir Elton John, Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys), Brody Dalle (Distillers), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), James Lavelle and more.
Film This is The End The Rapture is coming to a cinema near you! No, god hasn’t decided to punish those who break the 11th commandment (thou shall not charge thy heavens for thus corn that doth popeth). June brings two rapture film to our screens, This is The End and Rapture-Palooza, we’re going with This is The End for its massive all-star meta cast where the actors play themselves. As the world collapses, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Aziz Ansari, Rihanna, The Backstreet Boys and many more fight to survive at a badly scheduled party.
Online www.soul-reaper.com While every bit as cheesy as you’d expect from a comic titled Soul-Reaper, this scroll activated digital comic book is the first of its kind and a brilliant showcase of what a web page can do. Combining text, graphics, animation, sound effects and speech, this site shows how still images can be just as powerful as moving ones. With better writers and voice over artists, the applications of this medium reach from comic artist portfolios to film trailer sites to cross-platform TV content.
DVD VEEP: The Complete First Season Somewhere between Parks and Recreation and The Thick of It lies HBO’s VEEP. The series follows a fictional face–crushingly embarrassing US Vice President’s PR team and their daily disappointments. Armando Lannuci’s mean streak runs hot through the first series which is out now on DVD and Blu-ray. The cast includes Julia Louis Dreyfus (Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Anna Chlumsky (My Girl, In the Loop), Matt Walsh ( Ted, The Hangover) and Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Stranger than Fiction). While set stateside, the sharp wit, political gymnastics and monumental cock-ups will ring a bell with anyone who keeps an eye on the news.

Shoes of Prey
REGUL
WUWO's fashion section seeks out the best, the bold and the fresh in fashion, presented in digestible chunks alongside exclusive item giveaways.
Shoes of Prey has reached a global status, was this always your dream? I didn’t always dream of making shoes, I was solving a problem of my own as I could never find exactly what I had in mind. I started commissioning custom shoes and my friends asked me where I was getting them from and if I could create theirs. My business partners Mike and Michael worked at Google and were really excited about e-commerce. We all came together and Shoes of Prey was born.

Talk us through how it works. Shoes of Prey’s greatest feature is the design section and the sheer range we offer in terms of styles, leathers and colours. We provide women with a blank canvas, upon which they can create their dream shoe.
Established in 2012, MONVATOO London is a contemporary jewellery designer offering quirky yet sophisticated collections by mixing European, Asian and fantasy elements. From June 1-16 WUWO readers can get 10% off online.

Martina Bohn gives us an insight to the Ascot tradition of quirky hats.
Do you think high street retailers will offer a designer process to compete with you? Larger retailers face an ‘innovators dilemma’ because customisable products are not as profitable in the short term whilst companies like us devote ourselves to revolutionising the space.
Competition
Tell us something we don’t know about hat making? Milliners I’ve met include ex-architects, philosophers and engineers.
On what scale does Shoes of Prey operate? People have spent over 50 million minutes, designing tens of millions of shoes.
Where do you find you inspiration for your designs? Colour and the people I meet. I design the shape around the colour.
How do you come up with new designs? I sketch and then sample shapes and materials to suit the inspiration or collaboration. For the Romance Was Born collection ‘Mushroom Magic’ I was inspired by the vivid colours and bold shapes while the Carla Zampatti shoes have a distinctly S&M feel.
What do hats have that no other accessory can give? Hats can dress you in an instant. If I’m going somewhere straight from work I often carry a small cocktail hat with me.

What’s the most popular selling shoe? Black ballet flats. Everyone wants a pair that fits perfectly.

Has online shopping given new retailers a global reach? Yes. Our site allows customers access from anywhere in the world. Our free delivery and 365 day returns policy gives them peace of mind. What are the up and coming trends for this year? Gators will be really popular this summer in Europe and we’ll see a lot of emerald green, the pantone colour of the year. Some gadgets will save you time, bring you amusement or make life easier, others will do the opposite. Each month WUWO separates the two and brings you practical, fun and occasionally absurd gadgets.
3 6

1 2 1. Cat Scratch £19.95
2. Cap Zappa Bottle Opening Cap Launcher £7.99
3. Podtime Sleeping Pods £1,375
4. Outdoor Hammock £9.95
5. Stirr Automatic Sauce Stirrer £15.00
6. Flying Alarm Clock £ 14.99
A keyboard cat, some singing goats and a horn playing walrus - all welcome a new member to their animal band via the Cat Scratch. This deck-styled kitty scratch pad (complete with adjustable tone arm) allows undercover photo opportunities to capture photographic evidence of your feline scratching it out on the decks.
Beer tastes good; bottles are a good container, but what about caps? Apart from acting as an alternative currency in the event of a nuclear apocalypse, there aren’t many uses for them once you pop them off.
While Tokyo-style pod hotel rooms have yet to arrive in London, those invigorated by the idea of living in a giant test tube can now buy their own.
When asked, people tend to assume that pirates joined the profession due to its similarity of living on a cruise ship with less wrinkles and more pillaging. While this may be true, the main reason was probably the hammocks.
Attention spans are falling and the price of food is increasing. When these factors combine, scrubbing burnt beans from the bottom of the pan becomes all the more an infuriating and common experience.
This gadget is frustrating, annoying and will have you half-awake and screaming, jumping around the room to shut it up, which could be exactly why you want it.
It may take some time until your pet manages to put together its first mix, but the resulting photographs/videos are a piece of art in their own right. For the ultimate experience, bang on Wu-Tang-Clan, supply your cat with a bag of finest catnip, sit back and enjoy the show. www.red5.co.uk
With the Cap Zappa, at least a few seconds of enjoyment are had out of them as you ping them across the room at an unsuspecting drinking buddy. Simply open, aim and fire the bottle cap up to five metres thanks to the spring loaded mechanism inside. While great fun, be sensible(ish) with this device. Nobody wants a beer cap for an eye patch.

These 210cm stackable pods feature a luxury mattress, plug sockets, LED lighting, storage shelves, TV/DVD combos, alarm clocks and secure luggage compartments as an extra perk. If you’re not put off by the size then the final hurdle is the price. Those lacking capital may want to consider lobbying their boss by arguing the benefits of naps that don’t occupy stationery cupboards.
www.firebox.com @whatsupwhatson
These cheap and cheerful hammocks will see you through the brief UK summer. Simply attach it tightly between two sturdy objects, then clamber in with beer in hand. Packing away into a tiny case, it can be taken it absolutely anywhere. String it between two parking metres on Oxford Street, or more exotically, two palm trees in the Caribbean. www.boysstuff.co.uk wuwomagazine.com
Look, don’t take it personally; we know you are a good cook! All this gadget does is strip away the boredom of tedious stirring and sanctions more productive activities, like watching TV or sitting for hours using Facebook. When you return to the kitchen, your sauce/soup/ porridge/meal will be perfectly stirred and waiting for you. With strong enough batteries, this is essentially an extra set of hands in the kitchen www.uutensil.com facebook.com/whatsupwhatson
No snooze button, no hiding under the pillow or throwing the phone out of the room. This alarm will not stop until you get up, catch this airborne bastard and install it back on its launch pad. Your only solace when it lifts off at 7am is that the evil genius who invented it is utilizing his time devising alarm clocks as opposed to secret moon bases or his way to world domination (we hope).

Gimmicks Cheating Death
Death is a natural and currently inevitable phenomena but some try to fight it anyway. Here’s a mix of successful, failed and still in progress attempts at cheating death.
Elizabeth Bathory – bathing in virgin blood – 1560 to 1614 Known as the ‘Bloody Countess’, she reigned fiercely in early 17th century Hungary and was responsible for over 600 murders. A mix of truth, folklore, confessions and testimonies during trials of her accomplices show that Bathory tortured, killed and bathed in the blood of her victims. She believed the blood of servants, peasant girls and virgins would keep her young. Bathory was ‘walled’ into her room until her death in 1614.
Cryonics - FM-2030 – 1930 to 2000(?) Cryonics is a process for preserving humans in low temperatures so future medicine can resuscitate them. Fereidoun M Esfandiary (aka FM 2030) was an author, athlete and transhumanist philosopher. He changed his name to reflect his goal of living to 100 (in 2030) but died in 2000. While not the first cryogenically frozen person, he was the first to be vitrified; a method negating organ damage caused by ice.
Cloning – Insung Hwang – Started: 2005 to present
Mind uploading - Dmitry Itskov – ETA: 2045
This South Korean researcher can bring back your pet for the sum of £66,000. His cloning process takes sample tissue of your dog alive or soon after death, replaces the original DNA in another dog’s embryo, injects your pet’s DNA and then inserts the embryo into a living dog.
Russian Billionaire Dmitry Itskov aims to allow humans to upload their minds into robots to be able to live longer, better and in harsher environments. This is called Disembodied Intelligent Existence.
Hwang sees the UK as a potential market and has an essay competition where the winner gets a 50% discount. wuwomagazine.com
just for Students
The idea has been discussed previously by specialists in Bioethics, Medicine, Information Technology and Writers, but Dmitry is pushing it forward to individuals with what could be the most likely form of immortality in the age of information.

How to pass time with people who you want to pass time with but who don’t want to pass time with you…
Aisling Bea
1. Tell them about yourself
Just try getting out of that one. Cha-ching!
You can change their minds if you tell them enough things. If it looks like they are fading, throw in something to make them feel sorry for you, like a sick relative or an abusive home.
2. Buy their love We’ve all been stuck with someone you’d rather be drowning, here’s a guide to making it as productive as possible.
1. Ask them about themselves
Go straight in for the kill with negative questions: “God, you must be tired from all of the opportunities that life has given you?” “Is work very difficult at the moment? Out of work people don’t realise how lucky they are to be able to nap during the day”. “Who do you blame for your current biggest problem?” “How have other people’s problems affected you of late?” This works particularly well if they grew up in a white, middle-class home. Make sure you have something great to think about while they talk and a notepad to jot down your shopping list. They will think you’re writing a book about them.
2. Go to a museum
Nobody actually likes museums, but everyone knows that they should like them and by god if they ever bloody tried to take away my museums, I’d firebomb parliament! So go to a museum with them, two boring birds with a stone!
3. Get them drunk 4. Get drunk 5. Have sex with them
May I please underline that this is not an appropriate activity if they are: - Your parent - Your sibling’s/ friend’s child (I know, but clearly some people need telling) - In fact, any relative in general (fit cousins, twice removed - an exception) This works great if they are:
6. Use them as an aide for boring things you’ve meant to get round to… Example: cleaning and dusting, especially with children. You also feel less guilty when it’s a child because you don’t have to pay them. Their tiny fingers can get into those nooks and crannies fat adult hands can’t. “That’s right lisa, straight up that chimney with the brush. See if you can find that magpie nest and give it a whack.”
8. Give them a job
Then they are tied to you.
9. Get a job with them
What are they going to do? Quit their job?
People will do anything for a free ticket to a sporting event.
3. Have sex with them
Put all of your energy into it. This is about them.
4. Get drunk and sing to them 5. Hoover under their bed for them 7. Get them pregnant/ get pregnant
10. Tell them they won a car… …But that you come with it.
11. Tell them that you will jump off a building if they don’t go for lunch with you
(Especially effective if you are a parent trying to spend time with your kids.)
7. Eat something unhealthy and fattening
(The food that you reserve for a lonely “sad” day) this works particularly well if you are stuck in a relationship. Sit staring at each other or the television and play “take-away roulette” – Every time you feel you should address the terribly frightening truth, have another fork of chow-mein.
8. Sit for a painting
You don’t have to talk to each other, you can fall asleep and at the end you get a giant painting of yourself with someone you don’t like too much.
9. Pretend that you are a street performer who stands still and says nothing until they put money into your hat 10. Walk around the shops 11. Walk around the shops again 12. Tell them about yourself
They will just have to sit there while you air all of your grievances. You can tell them, without any guilt, how hard life is or all the opportunities it has given. Talk about who is to blame for your current situation, how “it always happens to me”, how “I ’m always the one who…” and how “it just seems like it’s always down to me to…”
- Your partner - On a summer exchange and don’t speak much english. - Working at your job - Your enemy - The partner of your enemy

We’re More Alike Than You Think
Here’s a list of some June games for all your black mirrors. DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid), is a structure found in cells containing strings of codes carrying information which determines the traits of all organisms. Like how the arrangement of letters in a sentence affects the meaning, the arrangement of codes in the nucleotides of the DNA defines an organism. By understanding the arrangements, scientists can understand how each organism came to be and what gives them their unique features. Each individual’s similarity to blood relatives (and other humans) extends to other species and organisms. A well popularised fact is that we share around 98% of our DNA code with chimpanzees and 50% with bananas. This doesn’t mean we are 98% chimp but that we have 98% of the contents that make up a chimp’s genetic signature.
98%
Third-person action adventure This game is set to be one that adds extra sense of ‘realism’ to the post-apocalyptic-themed games rocking our screens in the past few years (Fallout, Metro: 2033, Borderlands, all zombie games!). You play as Joel, a man accompanied by a little girl named Ellie who has to protect and take – uninfected – to a safe haven as they battle against deranged survivors and mutants who suffer the perils of a fungus that brought about the destruction of U.S.A. With over 20 awards under its name, The Last of Us is a very emotional experience set to be a keeper for PS3 owners.

Complete mapping of DNA could make science fiction become non-fiction. Overtime, scientists have studied DNA in order to understand evolution, genetic engineering, diseases and genetic disorders with a view of treating them and eradicating their potential to be passed on. Other possibilities include cloning organisms and the creation of new species of organisms; chimeras through recombinant DNA technology.

Dubbed the ‘Merc with a Mouth’, Deadpool as comic fans may know is a bad a** mercenary who can’t keep his mouth shut while he slashes and guns his way through hordes of baddies in a humorous way carried out ever so effortlessly. His ability to talk non-stop about anything and everything sips out of his conscious state as he ‘breaks the fourth wall’ and becomes aware of his existence in the comic book world. This trait is coming to the video game too and since he can’t be killed, the only way to get him to shut his mouth is to switch the game off and hope he’s not already turned on in your head.

Record Hall of Frame Some album art is too good to leave in a dusty box in the shed. Here’s a tip for getting the record cases on your walls.
Playing with living materials is exciting, especially when it occurs outside of pharmaceutical and academic laboratories. The notion of genetically manipulating organisms for art may seem far fetched, but it is a lot easier than it sounds.
Rock photo holders
You Will Need A Vinyl album case Rigid card A pencil Scissors A coat hangerAdhesive tape
Instead of buying a picture frame or making a wooden one yourself, try this very simple technique that takes your photo out of the frame and into your natural environment.
You Will Need A palm sized and well-balancing stone Bendable wire/ coat hanger A photo Paint (optional)
Method
Method
Cut the card to a square measuring 40x40cm
Wrap the wire around the rock, allowing the excess to extend upwards.
Place the album case on the middle of the cardboard and mark the card 6cm in from the corners on each edge (8 in total)
Coil the top of the wire into penny sized coils and press the coils together.
Make four diagonal cuts in the card joining the two marks closest to each corner.. Bend the top of the coat hanger into a small loop.
Paint the stone and wire to your desired colour.
Flip the card and tape the hanger across the back of the frame with only the loop showing out of the top. (be careful not to tape the slits up)
Place the photo into the coiled top end.

Comedy Why Stand Up?
Stand up isn’t all sell out gigs at the Apollo, most of it is being heckled by fat drunken bastards and living off petrol station sandwiches on tours of near empty bars, so why do it? WUWO spoke to Comedians who’ve done the rounds to find out why they did it?
Tania Edwards: “I got into comedy when instead of writing between temping jobs I was temping between writing jobs. At one temp job I was working in a really boring bank and was googling stuff when I saw that someone I used to know was nominated for a Perrier Award (now the Edinburgh Comedy Awards). I was a bit jealous and after the show I decided that’s what I wanted to do. Mark Restuccia: “Why did I get into Comedy? Hmmm… Because I didn’t want to work a real job!” Luke Benson: “I got into comedy because I got sick of all the free booze and easy women in accounting” Luke Toulson: “I got into comedy because I failed at everything else. If you make enough bad decisions in life you eventually end up as a stand up comedian” Jim Smallman: “I’ve allegedly been making people laugh for seven years now. It’s my seven year anniversary from when I allegedly started doing this for a living. Hahaha it isn’t a job! I got into comedy because I used to be a buyer for Next and I had to do a lot of presentations but I’ve got really bad nerves. A friend of mine said why don’t you go do a comedy course to get over it? I did but had no intention of doing the gig at the end of the course, but I fell in love with it. So I quit my job, though I tried to get fired so I’d get three months wages but I couldn’t.” Holly Walsh: “Before I did comedy I was an art gallery assistant. I got into comedy via a night course in comedy because I’m too middle class to commit to anything unless I have a piece of paper which tells me I’m qualified to do it. The class was really good not because I learnt anything but because it gave me the confidence to go out and humiliate myself in front of four people in a pub for the next two years. It was mainly trying to make people laugh who really couldn’t care less, squaddies, stag nights and drunk people. If you want to survive in comedy you have to be prepared to die onstage a thousand times over” Sean Hughes: “I knew from the age of 14 that I was going to be stand-up driven so I was always training and driven towards that. I never thought of doing anything else.”

Sarah Kendall: “ I started in a very friendly and warm environment, with my friends getting drunk with everyone knowing each-other. Then I started writing for someone in radio and then more standup. I always really enjoyed holding a microphone in my hand.” Tom Rosenthal: “I went to a sort of posh school where we used to do public speaking competitions. They took us around the world to compete in Canada and Cyprus so I got quite a lot of confidence in myself. At university I was a precocious, arrogant little child and I would go and talk to drunk people every night. I left university thinking “I don’t want to get a real job, I want to sleep” So I just get doing what I was doing before, talking to drunk people. Jason Acuna (Weeman): “I was working in skateboard videos for a magazine called Big Brother and we just realised Jackass stuff was selling good so we tried it out and it worked. The worst thing I had to do was bungee jump off a bridge super glued to Preston in the 69 position. It lasted two minutes and it was horrible, I just ripped myself off him. He was screaming the whole time.”

Interview with Ben Fogle
Since appearing in Castaway 2000, Ben has travelled the world as a presenter and an extreme sports devotee. For the last two years he’s spent time cleaning the UK’s beaches.
Why did you get involved with the Barefoot Wine Beach Campaign? After spending so many years near the ocean, I’ve seen what rubbish does to it. Last year we removed four tonnes of rubbish and it was extremely satisfying. What impact does beach litter have? A lot of that rubbish doesn’t come straight from our hands, pockets and bags, a lot of it has been washed to sea through the sewage network through our loos. There is obviously the visual effect of bottles and bags on the beaches, but rubbish also gets into marine life and ultimately goes back into us, we’re eating our own rubbish! You’ve taken part in a lot weirder UK activities, what tops that list? Over the years I’ve seen all sorts and I’ve enjoyed taking part in some of the unusual events that go on whether it be the world stinging nettle eating championships in Dorset, the world oyster eating championships in Weymouth, Lawnmower racing, or tin bath racing on the isle of man. The weirdest still has to be the sting nettle eating championships. Has reality TV changed since Castaway 2000? I think it has changed a lot, Castaway was the first of its kind, there wasn’t really reality TV before then and Castaway led the charge I suppose. Then Big brother came along and changed the face of it. Most people who go on reality shows now go on for slightly ulterior motives, that’s not rude, it’s the truth, they go on to become famous, rich and in the papers. After trying to start an autonomous community in Castaway, what is it like to visit real examples? It’s pretty extreme and I’ve been lucky to see all sides over the years including visiting real communities like Tristan Da Cuhna and St Helena who did what
wuwomagazine.com
I did but for real. Having done it myself I have a huge admiration for people who live in these truly remote places, but it’s what they have always known. I think we all have a romantic notion of wild remote, isolated living. On one hand it is very romantic, pure and healthy but it’s also incredibly hard. It’s a tough life. Have you eaten anything worse than nettles? I think putrefied shark meat in its own urine in Iceland was a particular low point. I had to throw my gloves away because I couldn’t get the stench off. What was contracting Leimaniasis like? You don’t really feel anything; it’s just unpleasant to know there’s something eating away at your skin. You’ve got a drunken tattoo, how drunk would we need to get you to have another one? Not very, it has grown on me in every sense and I can see how people could become slightly addicted and add to it, but I think my wife might divorce me if I did. How important are groups like the National Trust? The National Trust is incredibly important because we have so many historic buildings and estates. Without them we would loose a huge part of our heritage. I think they are absolutely integral in maintaining our heritage and our environment. What have you found washed up on beaches? Part of a sawn-off shotgun and unexploded shells and a few years before that I found a bomb. I seem to find a lot of explosives; maybe I should be a sniffer dog. How can people get involved?
