BDP are leaders in the use of BIM platforms for delivering projects across Europe and Asia. We have dedicated BIM coordinator’s and execution protocols in place, tailored to project type and scale. Our studio’s very often work with external design consultants , architects and so that our systems are agile which ensures seamless integration into an ongoing project cycle
Through our involvement in the leading edge of BIM development, we have defined processes to make best value of the design tools available. Improved collaboration, visualisation, solar studies, clash detection and less rework are just a few of the value additions with the effective use of BIM.
We have a certified BIM Execution Plan. We follow processes to issue construction packages (IFCs) at LOD 350.

Crossroads is a commercial and retail centre on a three acre site located in Valsad, Gujarat. The corner site is strategically located at the junction of National Highway 48 and State Highway, Valsad-Dharampur Road. The programme includes retail, restaurants, fast-food chains, car showrooms, banquet facilities, a boutique hotel, and offices. The site has the dual advantage of highway frontage and easily accessibility from Valsad city. The design takes advantage of the corner site by providing maximum frontage for the retail spaces. In a departure from the covered and sometimes bland shopping mall format that is common in India now, The Crossroads is developed as an open to the sky retail destination with multi level retail streets, anchored with lively plazas; reminiscent of traditional Indian street markets.

BDP have designed an upcoming 50,000 sqft mixed use, retail and office building in Valsad, Gujarat. The site is situated at a prime location in Valsad, surrounded by the premium industrial and commercial belt of the city. The Metropolis has been designed based on international standards, setting a benchmark for commercial buildings in the area. Our design utilises its street corner site, with double-height retail spaces wrapped on two sides of the building and three floors of office space above.

This development saw the transformation of a dated and tired shopping centre in the heart of Hammersmith, into a welcoming, inclusive and uplifting meeting place for the whole community. The project includes one of the first new IKEA City Centre format stores and incorporated a new focal point, formed around amphitheatre steps designed to host events, launches and create a focus for meeting friends and spending time.

The Wuhan Tahan masterplan is an 18 hectare office led mixed use development, strategically located in the city centre with close links to Wuhan Plaza business district, the Financial Business Centre and Wangjiadun CBD.

Bombay Boulevard
The built form was inspired by the natural geology of the area. Water and greenery was used to create a visual delight and a diversity of habitat. Central to the scheme was a major luxury high end mall with top name boutiques and gourmet restaurants, and a feature viewing platform. A second main mall comprised a high street shopping and department stores. The two connect via a tree lined boulevard, which acts as the main pedestrian route lined with cafes and food outlets.
Office space was provided to the east of the development over the main mall, with a further block housing a sports academy, hotel, banqueting, residential and leisure uses.
The open space was inspired by the Hanging gardens, and faced with vertical green walls along the built edges; creating an oasis of calm in the hub-bub of Mumbai. Public and private access was sensitively segregated, allowing a multitude of uses.

The Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme has been established to tackle the significant work that needs to be done to protect and preserve the heritage of the Palace of Westminster and ensure it can continue to serve as home to the UK parliament in the 21st century. The Grade I listed palace dates from the mid-1800s and is now one of the most iconic and significant buildings in the world, and forms part of the UNESCO Westminster World Heritage Site.

Nirlon Ltd, previously a manufacturer of synthetic fibres, has its head office at Goregaon, located in western Mumbai. After all production activities were stopped in mid-2004, the owners decided to redevelop this strategically located site of 9 hectares, as an IT Park. The location is exceptionally well connected and is accessible by car, train and air transport. In the competition winning masterplan, three building zones were placed around a central park. The building blocks could be subdivided into 2-5 units. In this way flexibility was built into the plan, enabling the developers to react to fluctuating market demands. The primary quality of the design was in the central park zone.

BDP was commissioned by SPRE, a 150 year old real estate company, to masterplan a 900 acre site on the edge of Pune. The site is located on the cusp between the existing city and natural beauty of the Western Ghats. The site surrounds an existing 260 acre championship golf course, and is in turn encircled by hill ranges. The challenges faced by the dramatic landforms of the site and steep contours have been integrated with sensitivity into the master-plan.

The client’s brief called for a luxury mixed-used residential and commercial development with a unit mix of 1-bedroom to 3 bedroom unit types, garden villas, sky suites and penthouses with supporting commercial offerings on the ground level. Our design proposal takes inspiration from Vietnam’s natural landscape to create a rich and diverse tapestry of materiality, greenery, water elements and topography. BDP approach seeks to create a lush tropical greenery environment and an urban sanctuary for the residents, inspired by the rich tapestry of Vietnam’s natural landscape elements.

Springleaf Precinct Masterplan
BDP participated in the pre-qualification bid of Springleaf Precinct Masterplan in Singapore. The 33ha site is situated adjacent to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, the largest nature reserve on the island. The existing precinct is largely forested and home to a wide variety of native flora and fauna.
One of the key requirements of the project is to accomodate 2000 residential DUs, commercial node with maximum commercial NFA of 1,200sqm adjusted to the future MRT station while conserving and enhancing the ecology in and around the site.
Springleaf Forest evokes the vibes as a vibrant place of being uniquely different by having regenerative capabilities. The landscape is self-sustainable and regenerative with little of man’s intervention unlike other residential development. The approach is refreshing because it offers everyone the perspective of renewal i.e. where vegetation would find a continual succession on its own, like in a mangrove or the forest ecosystem.

The intention of this masterplan was to create a residential development with several recreational features. The largest feature will be the com-munity golf course. Golf Estates are a fairly new phenomenon in India. The estates normally tend to be exclusive, repetitive and offer a sterile living environment because they cater largely for only one (the high end) income group. As a part of the same masterplan BDP is also developing 3 pockets of compact market rate artments which have been launched as a part of a new vertical of Lodha group called Crown. These are approximately 1250 units with a mix of 1 and 2BHKs with areas within 45sqm. These units provide luxury finishes and amenities while being economical. As a part of the same masterplan BDP developing 3 pockets of compact market apartments which have been launched part of a new vertical of Lodha group called Crown. These are approximately 1250 with a mix of 1 and 2BHKs with areas 45sqm.

[Project description] Ghadan 21 is a very large, complex project to revamp the existing public realm and streetscape of the 6 Km Airport Road (Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street) in Abu Dhabi. The scope includes six important themed vehicular junctions and the streetscape between them. This design focus includes improving accessibility, activation of parks, climate remediation, place making and improving network connectivity and creating a distinctive brand identity.

As part of the larger exercise, BDP also developed a concept masterplan for the entire 1334 Ha campus. The landscape concept included ideas on use of vacant lands in initial phases of the airport developments, strategies for trees, planting palette, design of key landscape areas like forest park, plane spotting park and swale park. Landscape team also worked with the infrastructure consultants to develop right RoW Typical cross sections keeping in view the landscape experience of the visitor.

The Wren Hotel
Wren Hotel makes the most of its tight urban site offering 137 compact and luxurious bedrooms in the heart of Dublin. BDP has designed a 27,000sqm five star hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. The 250 room hotel also includes a 500 seat ballroom, three restaurants, and leisure facilities including a pool and spa all set in a dramatic tropical landscape.
250 key five star hotel. The facilities include a ballroom for 600-800 people, three restaurants, leisure facilities including a pool and spa all set in a dramatic landscape. The tenant is currently the Hilton group. 28,000m².
The design approach is to provide global standards and facilities with contemporary interpretation of local craft, culture and colour. Inspired by images of the landscape and local trees, the concept creates four ‘leaves’ of bedroom accommodation orientated to exploit views out, balanced with the shading required in an equatorial location. Emanating from a circulation core, the ‘trunk’, we have imagined a dramatic six storey atrium permitting views over the landscape and leisure facilities as guests permeate to their bedrooms. The principal public spaces are conceived as ‘fruit’ around the core.
The concepts developed for the interiors have a direct synergy to the overall architectural themes. The natural themes of the forest, the foliage and fruits of the trees and the light and shadow of the canopy on the forest floor all make up a considered visual language underpinning the essence of the hotel. The hotel will be operated under the Hilton brand.

A private leisure garden with terraces and pool sits atop the 840 seat ballroom. Four levels of interconnected retail opportunities with terraces provide views across the water to the new Kingdom Tower. Both pavilions connect to the main hotel and residences building allowing for premier service for all guests alike.

Glasgow Queen Street Station has been redeveloped to cater for longer, greener trains and increased passenger footfall. A fully glazed façade floods the station with daylight, while a dramatic roof form creates a memorable gateway to the city. The design places emphasis on the previously hidden Category A listed train shed, reinstating this fine Victorian structure as the heart of the station and creating an unprecedented contemporary connection between train and city.

The Artists Bar, currently located in the B1 backstage corridor, is being relocated to the old B2 level boiler house once the new basement boiler house has been constructed and commissioned. The intent is to create a highly attractive space, sympathetic to the Hall’s heritage and to the original use of the space as a boiler house.
