BDP are leaders in the use of BIM platforms for delivering projects across Europe and Asia. We have dedicated BIM coordinator’s and execution protocols in place, tailored to project type and scale. Our studio’s very often work with external design consultants , architects and so that our systems are agile which ensures seamless integration into an ongoing project cycle
Through our involvement in the leading edge of BIM development, we have defined processes to make best value of the design tools available. Improved collaboration, visualisation, solar studies, clash detection and less rework are just a few of the value additions with the effective use of BIM.
We have a certified BIM Execution Plan. We follow processes to issue construction packages (IFCs) at LOD 350.

In 2011, BDP was selected after an international competition to design the new campus for the Indian Institute of Technology in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The campus is designed to become a beacon of engineering excellence, which is inspiring and sensitive to its natural surroundings in the Himalayas, together creating a place which will leave a very strong impression on everyone who will live, work or visit the Institute. Situated in Kamand on the banks of Uhl River, the site is spread over 538 acres of which about 200 acres is developable land while the rest is mountainous and under forest cover. The campus will house nearly 6200 students, 620 faculty members with families and other support staff. The campus layout responds to the microclimate and topography of the steep site in the part forested hills of Kamand in the western Himalayan region.

In 2013, BDP (as a part of a consortium) was selected to design the new IIT Jodhpur campus following a national design competition. The role of BDP was masterplanning and landscape design. The new campus proposed over 852 acres is located to the north-east of Jodhpur main city. The Master Plan responds intelligently to the climatic & geographical challenges of Jodhpur and particularly the site.
The main design approach towards creating a Smart Intelligent Eco Campus was to enhance and shape the environment to create a delightful and sustainable place to live and work. The campus is designed as an ‘oasis’ protected from adverse winds by a large earthen bund that gently slopes to merge with the buildings and the landscape.

Crossroads is a commercial and retail centre on a three acre site located in Valsad, Gujarat. The corner site is strategically located at the junction of National Highway 48 and State Highway, Valsad-Dharampur Road. The programme includes retail, restaurants, fast-food chains, car showrooms, banquet facilities, a boutique hotel, and offices. The site has the dual advantage of highway frontage and easily accessibility from Valsad city. The design takes advantage of the corner site by providing maximum frontage for the retail spaces. In a departure from the covered and sometimes bland shopping mall format that is common in India now, The Crossroads is developed as an open to the sky retail destination with multi level retail streets, anchored with lively plazas; reminiscent of traditional Indian street markets.

BDP have designed an upcoming 50,000 sqft mixed use, retail and office building in Valsad, Gujarat. The site is situated at a prime location in Valsad, surrounded by the premium industrial and commercial belt of the city. The Metropolis has been designed based on international standards, setting a benchmark for commercial buildings in the area. Our design utilises its street corner site, with double-height retail spaces wrapped on two sides of the building and three floors of office space above.

In 2021, BDP was asked to create a feasibility study report for Ikea in Moments Mall, Kirti Nagar in New Delhi. Kirti Nagar is home to India’s largest furniture market housing showrooms of multi-national home remodelling and fittings companies, the most reputed interior design boutiques, imported kitchen and bath brands as well as traditional carpentry furniture makers.
The design focused on creating spaces that bring about togertherness through interaction and activity generators. The site, Moments Mall/IKEA is imagined as an anchor gateway building for the existing furniture market, with direct vehicular connections from the Ring Road and Mathura Road on either sides as well as the metro rail connetivity.

Highway star is a 40,000 sqft retail development on the Bangalore-Chennai highway to Tirupati. The design accentuated with an over sailing roof is created to attract the fast highway traffic while providing calm outdoor spaces shielded from the view of the highway.

Nirlon Ltd, previously a manufacturer of synthetic fibres, has its head office at Goregaon, located in western Mumbai. After all production activities were stopped in mid-2004, the owners decided to redevelop this strategically located site of 9 hectares, as an IT Park. The location is exceptionally well connected and is accessible by car, train and air transport. In the competition winning masterplan, three building zones were placed around a central park. The building blocks could be subdivided into 2-5 units. In this way flexibility was built into the plan, enabling the developers to react to fluctuating market demands. The primary quality of the design was in the central park zone.

The High Speed Rail project is the first of its kind in India, and once complete will link Mumbai and Ahmedabad, covering a length of 500 km. We are collaborating with Nippon Koei to design the Training Institute campus for human resource development and technical transfer of techniques for operation of the bullet train service. The project includes a training institute building with classrooms, practical training and simulation facilities. There will be accommodation for staff as well as a canteen with recreational and other ancillary spaces. Our proposal uses minimal intervention to the site with numerous existing trees incorporated in our landscape scheme, creating vibrant open spaces. Optimal building orientations to reduce solar heat gain have also been explored.

The NIA Visitor Centre will be approx. 300 sq.m built-up structure, consisting of indoor as well as outdoor spaces, intended for information, and visitor assistance, along with meetings and waiting areas. The Dubai Hills residential project, developed for the Client Emaar, is set in the prosperous Dubai Hills community within the Al Quoz area of Dubai.
The design is for a premium midrise apartment community developed on a plot area of around 58,000sqm with an FAR ranging from 1.6-1.8 over the plots.

BDP was commissioned by SPRE, a 150 year old real estate company, to masterplan a 900 acre site on the edge of Pune. The site is located on the cusp between the existing city and natural beauty of the Western Ghats. The site surrounds an existing 260 acre championship golf course, and is in turn encircled by hill ranges. The challenges faced by the dramatic landforms of the site and steep contours have been integrated with sensitivity into the masterplan.

The intention of this masterplan was to create a residential development with several recreational features. The largest feature will be the community golf course. Golf Estates are a fairly new phenomenon in India. The estates normally tend to be exclusive, repetitive and offer a sterile living environment because they cater largely for only one (the high end) income group. What will set this Golf Estate apart from others, is that the golf living experience will be offered to a wider range of income groups.

The Early Childhood Centre is to be developed in a 21,500 sqft indoor space which is connected with a 25,000 sqft exterior terrace. This will cater to a maximum of 100 children with a maximum of 50 students at any time. These children will be divided in 3 groups based on their ages. The school also needs to maximise on the potential of the space and have the learning and play spaces both indoors and on the terrace.

Building Design Partnership’s new office in New Delhi is located on the 2nd floor of the Eros Corporate Tower in Nehru Place. The office spans a 2000 sqft area and accommodates 45 workstations, meeting rooms, private cabins, washrooms, and a cafeteria. The conference room is strategically placed near the entrance, while an open meeting table facilitates larger gatherings and group discussions. The office space features north-facing windows, diffusing natural lighting throughout the day. The color scheme of the office is in muted tones, creating a pleasant and professional ambiance.

Jeremy is BDP Principal and Architect with extensive International and UK experience in projects encompassing a broad variety of sectors. Based in Singapore, Jeremy heads BDP Singapore studio and is the strategic lead for BDP’s APAC region studios. Previously in China between 2010 and 2015, Jeremy was Shanghai Studio Architect Director and studio leader. As such he was responsible for the day to day directing of the studio along with project design development and coordination, with the objective of continuing the expansion of the China business and securing new work.
Since 2016, Jeremy has focused on the Southeast Asian market developing projects across the region and establishing BDP’s Singapore/New Delhi studio presence.
Manisha Bhartia

Manisha Bhartia is the Business head of our India studios and Urbanism profession director with BDP. After qualifying as an architect in India, Manisha graduated with a Masters in Urban Design from the Bartlett School, UCL with a distinction. She has worked in London for a number of years, and since 2010, in India. Manisha has been a masterplanner and design team leader for a number of projects and has worked across the U.K, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and India. These range from masterplan strategies, SPD and Area Development frameworks, retail led regeneration, public realm landscape strategies, large-scale green field developments for residential and mixed land use and masterplans for university campuses.
She led the BDP team in developing proposals for the Smart City mission programme run by the Indian government for four cities. She has presented / spoken at conferences on smart urbanism and the role of digital technologies in infrastructure, and has written a number of articles on urban issues for national dailies and a leading urbanism magazine.
Swati Kashyap Singh

Swati is an Architect with 15 years of professional experience on Indian and International projects. She has a B.Arch. degree from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Swati has been with BDP for 12 years, during which time she has been involved in academic, institutional, residential, and commercial projects.
Swati started her career at BDP with the prestigious IIT Mandi project, designing an extensive campus on a 230 hectare site for 15,000 students which is designed to meet GRIHA 4 star rating.
Swati has been leading the Inter Group work between the international and New Delhi studios and has successfully led the Delhi teams on several healthcare, workplace, residential and projects with many UK and MENA based teams. She is involved with the delivery of 9 underground metro stations in Dhaka and a boutique experience centre in KSA.
Radhika Mathur

Radhika has been working with BDP Urbanism team since 2016. She has been involved with residential, commercial, tourism and mixeduse masterplans. Radhika is an architect and urban designer with 15 years of experience in projects ranging from urban design, urban planning, research, public architecture and institutions. She has worked with national and international multidisciplinary teams from the public as well as private sector. She has the competence to take the projects from design conceptions to execution level due to valuable on site experience. Before joining BDP, Radhika has worked at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore in India. She has also actively attended workshops on design and urban planning in Paris & South Africa. She has also been active in teaching & related academic ventures in Mumbai & Ahmedabad.
Pranay Singh
Architect Director

With over 16 years of experience in the field of Design and Development, Pranay has worked with leading Architectural and Real Estate firms in South Asia. Pranay has recently joined BDP as an Architect Director and would be setting up the second Indian studio for BDP in Mumbai.
He began his career in India working with reputable Architectural firms in Lucknow, New Delhi and Mumbai Pranay then went on to spend 10 years with Ong&Ong Pte Ltd ( Five of those years were spent in the Singapore office of Ong&Ong where he worked on and led several design and construction projects in Singapore, Vietnam, Dubai and India. He spent the next five years with Ong&Ong as Director, Architecture and head of the India offices where he led Business Development and the delivery of various Residential, Mixed use and Hospitality projects
Pranay then joined Virtuous Retail , one of the largest institutionally owned retail led mixed use developer and operator in India, as Vice President Design Management. At Virtuous Retail, he oversaw and led the re branding, improvement and place making exercises for acquired assets that included VR Punjab, VR Ambarsar and VR Nagpur. He also started and led the design process for two of VR’s latest and largest greenfield mixed use offer ings VR Delhi (Approx. 2 million Sqft) and Mumbai (Approx. 5 million Sqft).

In a career spanning more 25 years, Meetali has worked with worked in various leading landscape firms in growing roles. While the long and enriching experience at her previous eomployers has taught her the minutest nuances of design including an eye for details; her other stints enabled her to gain vast experience in planning and executing projects on a large-scale. This entailed designing, detailing and overseeing the external development in coordination with the in house designers, foreign design consultants, the site team and the top management. Meetali has handled a range of spaces from townships to terraces, from office complexes to farmhouses, a range of work from designing to detailing, from over-seeing site execution to checking invoices, designed for a range of cities across India spanning its length and breadth.
She strongly believes in design being inclusive of all the disciplines. For her, Landscape Architecture is more than just design of outdoor space, it is a complex interplay of various elements. ‘What ultimately counts is the flow of spaces and activities and the response in form of emotions, it generates.’
