TRIAUNA CAREY enjoys sharing her passion for sports and academics with the youth. Since 2009, she has been running basketball camps, officiating games, and coaching in competitive youth leagues. Triauna also values working with students in courses such as English Literature, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric and Composition. She has been actively teaching Creative Writing since 2014. MICHAEL CARROLL has coached youth sports since 2000. As a competitive outdoor volleyball player and coach, he focuses on fundamental development, skill training, and ball control. In the 1990s, Mike coached at a semi-pro level and became an expert in advanced volleyball techniques and gameplay. He has a passion for developing volleyball confidence and encouraging the youth in the sport he loves.

CASSIE DYSON has been a dancer since 1997. She has extensive studio training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary style. Cassie also has 10 years of experience in drill team and pro-league dancing for NFL and ECHL teams. Since 2009, she has had the privilege of teaching teams and young dancers across the nation. Cassie is excited to bring her passion and love for dance to the next generation of artists and performers.

EAST LACROSSE ASSOCIATION has been serving Wylie and the surrounding communities since 1992. Their mission is to develop athletes with enriching lacrosse experiences and educate the community about the sport through friendly competition, positive sportsmanship, and quality skill development. East Lacrosse Association’s goal is to build athletes character, integrity, confidence, and respect for others with the sport of lacrosse.

SANDY ELKINS offers fine art painting classes. She started painting as a hobby in 2005. In 2011, she became a Robert Garden Certified Instructor. Her lessons include using oil paint, acrylic paint, watercolors, oil pastels, and charcoal. She teaches several techniques using the different mediums, through monthly classes and camps. She teaches perspective, color theory, and timesaving brush strokes, so students may develop a greater understanding of the visual world. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since June 2012.

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS® brings math, science, technology, and engineering to children in a fun and challenging way. They encourage children to have fun while using their knowledge of engineering and science to design, create, and improve solutions to engineering problems. Programs are designed to meet national standards in STEM education from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-affiliated associations. Engineering for Kids® engages students in hands-on, realworld engineering experiences. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since June 2014.

KEANA HINDS is a Wylie native and teaches Art Creator Studio. She has been leading painting since 2017. Keana studied Applied Art and Science at the University of North Texas and uses these skills not only with a paintbrush but in floral design and photography too. Keana believes that art is a perspective and it is in everything we do.

ANGELA JACKSON is the founder of Metropolitan Charm and Modeling, and executive director of The Miss Denton County Scholarship Pageant. Since 1999, Angela successfully participated in numerous pageants. She progressed from modeling in rural Southeast Texas to the DFW area, and continued to model and compete in pageants while in college. She credits her success to manners classes, modeling training, and pageant prep workshops. Her longtime mentor is nationally recognized Ada Duckett of the Miss Texas/Miss America organization. MAD SCIENCE® is focused on STEM enrichment programs for kids. With a strong foundation in science, they deliver unique, hands-on, projectbased experiences that are entertaining, educational, and enlightening. Mad Science covers topics from earth, life, physical, and technology sciences. Mad Science sparks imaginative learning and curiosity.

ANNA LAMB, owner of Little Lamb Sweets, has been baking and creating custom cookies since 2018. Anna’s interest in cookie decorating stemmed from wanting her kids to have the most creative birthday cookies for a fraction of the specialty bakery cost. She began self-teaching, and her hobby quickly turned into a passion. Anna now bakes and decorates cookies nonstop and believes “everyone deserves a cookie.”

PLAY-WELL originated in 1997. Their goal is to engage kids and get them excited about engineering, architecture, and physics concepts using LEGO. Play-Well’s mission is to help kids solve problems, provide an opportunity for creative expression, and develop teamwork skills through building elaborate objects and collaborating with their peers. PlayWell is dedicated to kids having fun and expressing themselves through the world of play. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since June 2017.

DAL SANDERS, founder of the Dallas Magic Academy and former Ronald McDonald, has been teaching and performing magic since the 1980’s. Dal has performed all over the world, appeared on a variety of television shows, and served as the President of the Society of American Magicians. Dal has a passion for sharing his love of magic with kids. He believes that magic connects people together and teaches vital interpersonal skills. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since July 2020.

SKYHAWKS has been a leader in providing safe, fun, and skill-based sports experience for kids since 1979. They pride themselves on teaching sport-specific skills to all children of varying athletic levels. Skyhawks has a vision that every child should experience the joy and benefits of sports. They emphasize critical life lessons, such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and winning and losing with grace. Skyhawks’ goal is to teach life skills through sports.

AMBER SMITH has been sewing since 1992. Her passion for fabrics, stitches, and embroidery began with her mother, who taught her the art of sewing and quilting. At the age of 11, Amber began selling her sewn items and handmade doll clothes. Amber strives to boost hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, and creativity within her students. She has taught sewing and held private lessons since 2011. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since January 2013.

SOCCER SPARKS has been teaching soccer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2009. Their focus is the physical development of children and the community as a whole. Their classes are designed to teach kids the proper skills and principles of the game while focusing on fun in a non-competitive environment. Soccer Sparks’ goal is for players to simply enjoy the sport while acquiring the necessary skill set without the pressure of outcomes. Awesome expert for Wylie Recreation since September 2018.

STRETCH AND GROW is focused on providing enrichment programs that enhance children’s health, confidence, and attitude. Since 1990, their offerings center around highquality, fun, and engaging exercise experiences that emphasize integrity and teamwork. They aim to grow happy, healthy, and successful kids through a mix of physical activity and education.

SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS AND ATHLETES (SSA) is geared toward preparing children for their future while having fun. SSA strives to enhance confidence, leadership, and communication skills within their students. SSA emphasizes the importance of physical and mental health. Children experience boosted self-esteem, the ability to focus and be more alert, reduced stress levels, improved teamwork skills, and enhanced positivity. WIZE COMPUTING ACADEMY, founded in 2015 by technology professionals, is focused on projectbased curriculums in coding, robotics, and design for kids. Wize believes that the best way for students to learn is “by doing”. Wize prepares students for the real-world IT industry and enables them to be creators, not just users of technology. Their goal is to help students increase focus, improve critical thinking and reasoning skills, and enhance teamwork.
