AMANI AL SHAALI Amani Al Shaali studied interior design at the American University in Dubai. Even though she currently makes a living as interior designer for yachts, her love of photography developed at an early age, when she was only thirteen. Upon graduation, Amani decided to explore a multitude of personal creative projects, including photography and digital art. Amani’s main interest is ‘Creation’, in an almost cosmological sense. She is fascinated by the possibilities of photography and digital editing as a means to creating something from nothing. Rather than simply reflecting on her environment, she uses photographic elements to bring a completely new world into being. A world, which has its roots in the very core of her soul. “I am somebody who wants to create images that convey feelings most people can relate to. I’m inspired by personal stories, everyday experiences, human emotions and trying to find beauty in sadness.” Amani is the perfect embodiment of the searching artist: constantly exploring narratives, the best technical solutions and perfect balance in composition. She also shares the struggles of her creative process on her blog, where she allows the reader to enter into the very personal realm of her artistic practice.

ANTHONY LAMB Coming from a family of artists and art enthusiasts, Anthony Lamb graduated in Furniture and Product Design in the year 2000. His love of photography was first sparked by trips to the Alps, the Lake District and Scotland. This experience fuelled his appreciation for large and open spaces and landscape photography, which he further developed during his extensive travels to various countries, such as Australia, USA, South Africa, UK, France, India, Italy, Greece and Jordan. While backpacking in Australia in 2002, Anthony discovered a landscape photographer by the name of Peter Lik, who captured huge panoramic photographic landscapes and opened his eyes to what was possible with a camera. “I’ve always liked clean design, minimal modern art, simple compositions in landscape paintings, symmetry and balance. It always made sense to me that when composing a photograph, the image should be simplistic and uncluttered. This minimal style reflects a calm sense of mood which is my overall intention. I’ve always been more interested in shooting less recognisable locations, as it adds more intrigue to the photograph; finding beauty in places that may be dismissed and composing simplistic photographic scenes to produce something unexpected.” ”I’m drawn to water, (…) Beaches, lakes and oceans; they all hold photographic opportunities due to the changing reflective light, the movement and mood that water can produce with long exposures and the right conditions.“

YOUSEF BIN SHAKAR ALZAABI Yousef Bin Shakar Alzaabi, launched one of the biggest photography groups in the UAE, called Emirates Falcons Photography. He has participated in more than 40 different exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates, as well as overseas. Alzaabi has a hungry talent for photography. His journey started with a graduation gift from his beloved mother: a digital camera, a small object that changed his whole life. He took it with him on a study trip to the United Kingdom, where he started shooting portraits of his friends. Little did he know that this was a start of a new phase in his life. His passion for portrait photography grew over time, as he strived to polish his photographic knowledge and strive to become one of the most distinguished photographers in the U.A.E.. Even though he has developed a deep interest in culture and storytelling since the first days of his career, he will forever remain an ardent lover of portraits. To Yousef Bin Shakar, perfecting his technique and mastering the art of photography is not merely about expertise or craftsmanship. He sees photography as a spiritual life experience and a teacher that he learns from. A mentor that shows him the value of patience and gives him a new perspective in life, which he shares with his family and friends.
