This enables patients to meet with multiple, highly-skilled Smilow Cancer Hospital specialists in breast imaging, medical oncology, breast surgery, radiation oncology, and reconstructive/plastic surgery. This team approach provides newly diagnosed patients with a carefully determined, personalized treatment plan focused on providing the most comprehensive, e ective care possible. Oncology nurse coordinators, social workers, dietitians, clinical research sta , palliative care expertise, and survivorship planning are also available for our patients. In addition, our designation as Connecticut’s only National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center brings the most advanced access to clinical trials to our patients.
