CITY IN FLUX By Yanda De Vasco
City in flux My brief was on “City in flux”. I am required to research into the visual language of the city, how imagery, artifacts sounds and ephemera of all kinds of senses with visual messages and experiences. What does “flux” mean? It means continuous flow of change. When I was handed the brief for the city of Flux project, Initially I researched the meaning of the word “Flux’ more before I had thought of my ideas and this helped greatly. “Flux” can mean many things, such as movement, change, the action of flowing and much more. I like the concept of the project; I could have fun with my ideas and play around with experiments in development because the concept is so wide, that you could diversity of ideas. I am essentially going to make my work on a particular thing that shows ‘the flux’ in my choice of city.
What does the world ‘Flux’ mean?
I wanted to add more to my knowledge of what the actual word flux means, from different viewpoints. Website “In the various sub fields of physics, there exist two common usages of term flux, each with rigorous mathematical frameworks. The terms “flux”, “current”, “flux density,””current density,” can sometimes be used interchangeably and ambiguously, though the terms used below match those of the contexts in literature” Flux, from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Leeds + Huddersfield
For my secondary research I wanted to gather information from all kinds of people, for example from photographers, fine artists, musicians, architectures, designers, poets and much more. I mainly want to look into those whose work was also influenced by a city.
35mm film diapositive necklaces
by Jess Gouws
Jess Gouws is the founder of ‘Yellow Jewellery’s’ which is a fashion and accessories brand. These really unique style looking necklaces charms were designed by Jess Gouws, the images inside the bottles are actual photographs Personally took by Jess, so these necklaces’ have a message behind them and it was definitely not just randomly designed. Although the necklace is eye catching they also are functional. Jess Gouws designed 35mm film diapositive necklaces with original Kodak slides. These film photographs are about cities around the world, where Jess Gouws personally travelled to. She went to Madrid, Paris and Cape Town and many more. The main reason I was attracted to her work is because what inspired her into designing these necklaces and what inspired her was that she sees photographs as factual pieces of evidence providing our memories are real, not fake. It was about her belief.

The calendar of the Everyday by Liani van der Westhuizen
Liani van der Westhuizen is an architect and design educator at the Spier Architectural arts. She shows her passion for architecture in one of her work called ‘Calendar of the Everyday’, a year long photo essay. Photographs taken in Cape Town and as you can see her work has an architectural influence. However she did not do all of this to be looked as your regular city photos, her project was to celebrate the ordinary everyday experience of the Mother City in a visual way; Cape Town city life inspired Liani van der Westhuizen. She also wanted to offer a unique perspective by showing the city in a unique way of array of photos, which will be available on online websites like for example Google. I envy how she managed to capture the design essence of how Cape Town is a will change and be in the next coming years. Lone van der Westhuizen said ‘A city’s character is made of more than its physical features and infrastructure’. She also mentioned “A city’s urban identity comes from its relation to the everyday world. Calendar of the Everyday depicts this distinctive ‘flow’ of Cape Town city life, embracing its rhythms, contours, personal histories, eccentricities and contradictions, beyond tourist traps and well-known natural beauty”.

Shaun Gaylard is an architect, designer and artist. He founded ‘Blank ink Design’ in 2013.
I decided to post Shaun Gaylard work called ‘A-Z’ because the composition and the style of illustration. The white in the background makes each building look dominant, which gives off the feeling of importance; it becomes eye catching to the viewers. First Shaun Gaylard hand drawn these Architectural buildings in plain black ink, capturing their unique characteristics. After sketching the buildings formed the work into a print. This print work is called ‘A-Z’ and it is done by Shaun Gaylard. The print Size is 330mm x 450mm and the quality of the print is Fine Art High Definition done on velvet Fine Art Paper 220 gram Acid Free. ‘A-Z’ is an alphabetical guide to architects of the world and each of these 26 international buildings reflects the style of the period of construction was taking place. Each building is drawn in accurate details, in unwavering high quality making it look very sophisticated; it looks like a lot of time was spent researching each building to have these accurate details. Along with his unique sketches he provided information for the viewers, positioning the information such as the buildings name, the year, the architect and location below each drawing. Berlin buildings by Architect Leonard Miller
Leonard Miller is an Architect who enjoys taking striking photographs of buildings, roads, people, and the sea around the world. He started taking pictures of sites in his first year as an architecture student and as time progressed, he also gained photography skills which is has now developed to beautiful combination. I like these photographs he took of the Berlin buildings, in my opinion they are mesmerizing and one of a kind. His passion for architecture and his photography skills combined together complement each other greatly. I was mesmerized by the splendid mixed colored skies reflecting on the glass buildings as if it was catching its beauty. The photographs communicated what Leonard was more interested in taking a photograph of, he stuck to a specific pattern while he was taking his photographs which was including skis and the top half of the buildings. They make you curious what the other half looks like.

Leeds Inspired poster By Anna Peaker
The Leeds based Graphic artist, Anna Peaker designed this A3 commissioned poster for Leeds inspired. Her poster is bold filled with simple coloured patterns that easily portray architectural buildings; when I look carefully I can see there are patterns take shape of windows, stairs and even top of buildings. Anna Peaker said she was inspired by the shapes and patterns of her home city Leeds “The poster itself was inspired by the patterns and shapes of the city, there’s a great film by John Betjeman about Leeds that a friend directed me to recently, where he muses about the old architecture of Leeds. Culturally, I think Leeds and the surrounding areas are so unique, there’s always something to do or see whether it be music, Film or art events.” I am also from Leeds and I can see why Anna was inspired by the buildings, there is cultural diversity and that has influenced the architecture in Leeds. I like the fact she only used patterns for her poster and it still managed to inform about the beauty Leeds architecture buildings.

Day to Night By Stephen Wilkes In 2000, Stephen was commissioned by ‘Epson America’ to make a portrait of the United States and these are part of it. He went to a high building and continuously photographed from one angle only for at least 10 to 15 hours taking hundreds shots to capture cityscapes of New York City’s feeling moment, from day to night; this was for each work he did for Day to Night. He then continued his work on Photoshop to effectively blend in each image together. I love his edited photographs The moment I saw them, I was instantly mesmerized by the beauty & his concept. Researching into Day to Night influenced greatly one of my concepts in relation to rush hour from morning to the evening in rapid time Stephens, edited his work in a way that it can easily communicate with his viewers what his concept is really about. The blended the photos together, on one half showing the moment when it was day and the other in the night. From the photographs you can get a sense what makes New York City really interesting and attractive; it’s the energy flowing throughout. From day to night and it will still look lovely. It looks surreal. I can see why people call it “The city that never sleeps”. All the positive responses Stephen received from the public is what inspired him to make this original work. An amazing photographer and work, I would like to research more into his work.

Ernesto Olivares Ernesto Olivares was born in Barcelona, Spain. He is a Graphic designer who only specializes in creating ‘Visual content’ into Info-graphics and Data Visualization. ‘The Best Dressed Cities in America’ designed by Ernesto Olivares for a clothing company called ‘Ardenreed.com’. His work shows the audience how fashion for men is slowly taking change again and I included Olivares work in my research because one of the meaning for the word Flux is constantly changing. His work helps the audience understand what used to be quite popular for centuries is coming back to fashion in some cities in america. His work also provided a great insight into how men in different cities in America style are changing from the influence of the popular TV show called ‘Mad Men’. The title is in bold and each word is in different styled fonts saying “The best dressed cities in America”, the word “Cities” in light baby blue and bigger than the other words. The title already grabs the audience’s attention because who would not be curious if their city is on the list for best dressed cities? The illustration of the man in a brown suit, looking confident instead of a woman is Sends a message that it aimed towards men in the audience. On the right of this illustration is another illustration of a city in black and white. The bottom of this it says “America is changing. The advent of Mad Men, Suits and White Collar has created a more style conscious man” His straight forward stated the TV shows for that had a great influence on this change. He added on a lot of estimated percentages he had to research and they are good for persuading the audience more. In the beginning of my research I was just thinking about ideas to do with buildings and architect, cityscapes change all the time, so I not really concerned about ideas including people till now. Because of Olivares work I found a desire doing an idea based on fashion, but not exactly the same way he approached his work by using a lot of data and statics. I can visually show my idea in a different format.
Uta Barth
I went to Leeds this weekend, my home town and whilst I was cleaning my room, I came across my old Art & Design book from my previous course and this book is about other artists and designers that are inspirational. I was extremely happy that I saved my book because it reminded me of the unique photographer, Utah Barth and what I like about Utah Barth is that her work is very different from other photographs. I couldn’t leave Uta Barth aside from my research, the way she approached her work is too unique to be ignored. I wish to learn from her technique with a camera because I want to able to include it in my primary research so I may be able to experiment with it with one of my ideas rush hour in Huddersfield. ‘Field #20’ taken in 1997. The medium used is digital print, acrylic paint on canvas. She has not manipulated this photographic print in any way. The photo is on a street corner with a red traffic light across. She has deliberately taken the photograph out of focus, the blurriness makes photograph to resemble an abstract piece, it has an abstract element and dramatic feel. I like the fact that her work could be looked at differently, as an abstract not just as a photograph. The composition of red light dots causes the work to stand out more, it is as if we are staring through a wet glass window.
Uta Barth ‘and to draw a bright white line with light.’ (Untitled 11.2), 2011.
I think that Utah Barth’s work goes more in depth than it just being a ‘blurred photograph’, it deserves more than a glance because her work calls the viewers attention to the absence of the subject ‘Street corner’ and this causes them to focus on where the subject would be if it was a focused photograph in effect turning us the viewers into the real subjects. Utah Barth said in an interview - “Mostly the camera is used as a sort of pointing device. One goes out into the world and points it at something of beauty, something of importance, a spectacle of some sort . . . always at something, so in most images the subject of the photograph and the meaning are one and the same. I wanted to challenge that by removing the central subject and to look at and think about the background, which ascribes meaning to the subject in an almost subliminal way.”

Rush Hour Poem
‘NYC Morning Grazing with herds of business men and women alike at our communal caffeine watering hole. Seemingly indifferent to each others presence, we’re unwittingly intimately connected by coffee in this loosely arranged New York State of Mind ritual’ I found a good and simple rush hour poem on a website called hello poetry, I put the link below if anyone is interested because I came across really good poems on this website. Despite the poem being very short, I enjoyed it; the readers can understand that there is a morning routine combined with the rush hour ’our communal caffeine watering hole’. We come to understand that despite their being so many people you get used to it ‘indifferent to each others presence’, is this because of the sweet pleasure of the coffee drink that we have in the morning? ‘We’re unwittingly intimately connected by the coffee’ He is saying that it is as if coffee is our numbing drug in the morning pumping through our vein making the morning rush hour in New York City seem unimportant. The writer who is still unidentified said on the hello poetry Website ‘I feel like this isn’t done. Will probably change the title too. I’m really going to miss NYC/NJ.’ I wonder what if i could communicate a morning routine also through my idea on Rush hour.

Destructive influence This is contemporary and mixed media design. I found a graphic designer who designed collage work about people in the past and I posted his work as I am wanting to do for one of my ideas on Stories. Ashley Joseph Edwards is a London based graphic designer. It was his the first and second image that intrigued me to his work. The first image of the little girl saying her bedtime prayers and the little pink pyramid, it made me wonder what do you think she’s praying for? A face? A hat?.
Stanley Morison
I found this on Pinterest but the name of the artist was never put below the image so i still do not who it belongs to. However i really find interesting how the story takes the shape of letters, and those form another message. I could incorporate this into my magazine by kind of combining a feature story in the small text, but an ASF with the larger letter outlines. I would like to see where this typography takes me to.
Huddersfield I took a lot of photos in the train station, but only two of them I thought were worth documenting. I am thinking of going early in the morning around 6 am, so I can catch the rush hour and the crowd. How many stories would i get from this Coffee stand?
#He waited and waited...
Interesting materials These are scans of photocopies of old documents and newspaper from the past. These photocopies are about the Huddersfield train station. What route the trains used to have to take before now. I wanted to see if I could find any interesting stories that may occur at the Huddersfield train station, the train station itself did not keep information from the part, so this led me to go the Local history section and they were all piled up in a brown envelope. This envelope was dedicated to the Huddersfield train station.
Documents Materials
I know what you want to ask. What did I find interesting in old documents? They had interesting stories on how the Huddersfield train station was in the past, I found the old text appealing, and could be useful for when I come to do my collages.
About Geral Egan ‘Those were the days; when steam was king in the heavy woolen district’. There was one article story I gathered from the big pile of documents. This article story was about Geral Egan. ‘For me it all started on Septembers 18,1951’ This is the line that caught my attention straight away because I understand it was going to be a very detailed story on his memory. He wanted to share how his career begun. What his interview was like and where he headed into next. I think that Geral Egan’s story can make an interesting subject to experiment with. I want to try and use these scanning’s for collage experiments, To cut out the section of piece and juxtapose them in nice layouts and composition to see which one is more appealing.
Collages I made many collages in my sketchbook to experiment the type of ways I could lay out my work. This way I could have more choices in how i could layout my work. The materials I used for my collages were. Varieties of pens from ballpoint pens to ink pens, a ruler and scissors.
I think that in my first collage ‘Story.’ I over used the photocopies because they covered the typography that it now looks too busy for one’s eye so it makes it impenetrable. The inspiration was from the magnificent newspaper article typography. I liked the way it turned out and I think that my story idea could benefit from it because while the story I picked is fun to read, I also think that my choice of typography should be too.
Initial Experimentation Initially this was tested out in my sketch book as a collage, I cut out valuable information and images from the article photocopy relating to the Geral Egan’s story, because I wanted to make to communicate it easier. You could say that my targeted audience was children and young people. I moved the collage work from my sketchbook to Adobe Photoshop. Although I already had layout planned out from my sketchbook, I wanted to see if I could do it in different ways that may be better. I combined all the layers together and by doing so I realized that how bland it really looked. How could a fun memory story not look as if it had any emotions? I moved on to bringing out more colours and life to the work, so I started with editing out the smoke from the train chimney, each of them done in blending option. Then I enhanced the train and Gerals Egan’s face with the ‘Shaper’ Filter. I was not pleased with the outcome, I felt as if the design needed to expand more in the A4 paper.
On my Last experiment my work was too insipid; I think the issue was because It did not make use of the whole page and typography that could be used. I still used the same information I cut out and copied from the article story and even brought in a nice old 1960’s looking “N” letter that you would see in adverts. If you look closely the design spells out stories. Why ‘Stories’, it may not be a good answer, but to me it was simply because that is what I am communicating, a story, a memory. I did all my work on Adobe Photoshop and just added filters to cut outs from the photocopies. I am happy with the outcome, inspired by a work I came across in my secondary research. A typography I found on a popular website called ‘Pinterest’.
Although I am happy with the experiment, I feel as if it needs to show a bit more. Despite liking my work, I do not think it appeals to children effectively. I think the reason is because it does not have the visual images that look fun that look eye-catching and lack of colour.
This is the outcome of my third experiment. It was not a successful as I thought it was would be in my head. The colour from the smoke causes the image to look more interesting and artistic, but now the work looks too busy. I am disappointed with the lack of information I did not find to work with to develop my experiment. I liked the whole story, but I wanted to also tell other personal stories from the past relating to the Huddersfield train station. The Local Huddersfield library did not have this type of documents I was interested in. I felt that the story ideas is not for me because you will not always come across people that are willing to talk to you and want to get on with their day. I wanted to have more than one story in order to make a story book of actual real experiences and memories from the people that have always lived in Huddersfield.
A stroll back into Leeds.
LEEDS
Fashion in Leeds The fashion in Leeds is top priority, even mothers with children make sure the kids have the best style going around. I asked her why if they have stuff in the backpack and she told me “Oh no hun, nothing in there of importance it just went with their clothes. It certainly did go with their clothes, their whole outfit and the fact that they are twins made people squeal because how cute they looked.
Geometric shapes
This Wonderful black and white print poster is by Ivan Smagghe. The work was produced in 2011. The way the poster design is laid out adds a remarkable look to the unique typeface in use. The custom typeface is called Elementary A.I think the beauty of the typeface is what makes the whole work stand out and it’s because they use symbols with their typeface. The cupid sign on the top right of the corner is meant to be the ‘A’ and while the ‘G’ is two circles connected together a small line, can possibly look like an icon for glasses and the whole thing says ‘A few things from’ which is then continued to the smaller different front. You can see that the triangle grid shapes show some features of an animal and a human, that can cause interest to people because it makes you curious about the other half of them, like what are they hiding?

‘The Underground @ Kennedys, Westland Row D.2 Doors 10pm’ The purpose of the poster to advertise their big event where they will be the DJing for 5 hours set at the Kennedys. They used the commercial as a slang to shorten the word ‘At’, I felt that the reason they used the commercial at, is because, the poster is aimed towards the young population, which are the ones that understand the meaning of the sign.
Lauren Goodwin is a Graphic designer from Cincinnati, OH, USA. She designed compositional studies for a task, where was she asked to design three examples of the inherent and dynamic forces of rectangle utilizing point, shape, line, typography and mixed with an image, all in an 8 x 11 inch format. She did not just make a random work; she simply considered the tone and meaning of the design. You can see that the main tones she used were black, dark grey, light grey to white, they all relate from the darkest to the lightest. ‘Break and burn’ is a harsh sentence easily can cause the audience to think of the worse meanings from the design. I think that the black tone seems as if it is slowly taking over the grey image, it reminds me of a nightmare where the dark will slowly swallow you up. Lauren Goodwin Focused on a specific principle of design, using only geometric shapes, which are the circles and uniform lines. She made her work in a circle format compositions’, grouping them closely together effectively

gives a claustrophobic feeling, and as if she is trying to show the audience that even ‘paradise’ can easily disappear. When I look at the designs that look unbalanced, I feel sometimes uncomfortable, but she pulls off the right feeling that is perfect for the meaning of her work, causing the viewers to simply go through the feeling. I loved the variety of different tones she used and the meaning and feeling of her design through typography.
The work is by a Graphic designer called Quim Marin, who is from Barcelona. He designed a page in a magazine talking about ‘Hair’. The photo has been overlaid on the typography and I think that the combination gives an essential beauty, at the same that ensures the communication effective because not only does it grab the viewer’s attention but also because the whole bold sentence portrays what it means with the image used. On the other hand, I think that the word “Let” needs to be a bit darker because it is as it is disappearing with the white page, I think it needs to contrast between the letters and negative space. With that saying I also like the composition and typography work.

Urban Fashion Urban Wear in Leeds Idea. I want to do my next idea on the Urban fashion based in Leeds. I like to keep up with the fashion, but alternatively because I see a flux happening in fashion at the moment, usually on the internet, TV but also in person. It has been happening since the 1980’s, the only thing that changed now is that Urban style used to be a top notch in the past. I think that Fashion and music go together, so I am extremely excited in researching the relationship between two. I know that Urban music is a big part of urban culture, which is why the music massively influences urban fashion. It’s been over twenty fiver years since the new form of expression And despite the efforts from stablishment to try What i am aiming for? I want to inform people how Urban music influenced fashion and how the Urban fashion has changed over the years. I think the pefect format for this would be a magazine instead of a poster or a book. A magazine is a good choise for fashion talk.
and minimize the influence urban music has on young people. Urban music means music relating to R&B and Hip Hop. Today Hip Hop is for man a way of life, a culture in every aspect of young people’s daily lives. I think it is important to remember that Hip-Hop was emerging culture that has similarities to other cultures that have emerged throughout history. How was Hip-Hop born? Hip-Hop came from the early practitioners of Rap music and the street corner fashion. This creation was to overcome their inability to gain acceptance and recognition by fashion, entrainment industries and established music.
These models you see, are mine and my brothers friends who took time of their work to help me out. My friends brought some of their clothes with them because i did not want to have them wear the same outfit on the pages of my magazine, and because there is only three of them , I felt as if it will make the magazine a bit boring. The reason I used people i know is because it is difficult to just take photographs of people in town, not everyone want to be on a project.
Ever since Urban Fashion, you can see that a lot of women discarded wearing heels and started wearing trainers with different brands.
Photographs I took inside a Boutique store, famous for their Urban wear.
Front Cover
1st experimentation
I felt that it should take on a specific style that could be easy to understand without so many different fonts and colors. The reason I designed the headline typography this way is because two words were in my head at that time; these words were ‘Flux’ and ‘Urban’. Flux means continuously flowing, and urban is relating to, characteristic of a city. I think the word ‘flux’ was narrated in the way that it is attached to ‘Urban’ by the end of the capital letter ‘A’. Yellow road markings were placed on in front of the typography and overlaid to make it seem as if both come together. The yellow road markings were from a random photograph I took in Leeds, they relate to the urban features. I like the way that the markings overlay the type, to be honest; it brings out the word more than it is plain black.
Different design solution for my front cover. It feels like this leads more into fashion magazine feel, which in the beginning i was avoiding because i wanted to make the cover unique, however this style is very appealing and fresh than the first design solution. Further more i felt that this design is more likley to attract attention if it was printed into a real fashion magazine. Therefore i deided to take this design into further develoment to become my offical cover.
I tried different ways in the beginning, I used many different fonts and colours, shoved them all together in one page, unconsciously interpreting the common magazine cover you see that are usually covered all with many different types of texts. However, when I looked at thework, I felt that the cover was overloaded and that is when I decided I needed to take a different approach and discard the usual magazine cover we see. I felt that it should take on a specific style that could be easy to understand without so many different fonts and colors. The reason I designed the masthead design andtypography this way is because it relates the world flux, which means continuously moving, the word ‘flux’ was narrated in the way that it relates to the word ‘Urban’ too.
Inner pages experimentation and Development
First and Second page design I did many different experiments on the first two pages, however i lost my work a few weeks go but thankfully i had already printed them out for tests i was doing on materials. These were my other design solutions and i prefer this to my previous design. I like the geometric shape and impact the yellow has on both pages. In the beginning i used illustrator however i found it difficult to overlay the image over the shapes, therefore i used photoshop which was successful. I think it was essential to edit the photographs,I did not want to over filter the photographs, so I stuck to black and white and a simple virbant colours. This design was also my chosen design for my first and second page.
Third and Fourth page These were my design solution for my third and fourth pages. The first design includes texts explaining the outfit.
Fifth and Sixth page A Page showing an example of urban wear, the outfits typically worn. This page is mostly clothes for boys however not entirely because ladies are wearing large tshorts over shorts, just like the ones i have included. The first and second are compositined similair ways and both have a use of geometric elements. I refined the design, instil of also have horizontal texts like the likes, i decided them being in a normal position is more appealing.
Seventh and Eigth page As you can see in the begininning it was very simple design, however it development into a more simplistic designs. I was greattly influenced by Lauren Goodwin geometric work, you can see this in my second, third and fourth designs. However in my third and fourth design there is less geometric bold shapes, i included yellow horizontal lines and made the background into purified rectancles shapes which is hard to see due to the black colour. Despite this, i feel that this is perfect design appraoch, it brings our the photographs effectively than the other designs.
Ninth and Tenth page This is my design for the pages specifically shops promotiong and advice in which shops based in Leeds sell urban wear. I like the third design, the mixture of colour and patterns are remarkable together. The layout was influenced by vogue magazine. If i had to pick, this would be my favourite page.
Back page I wanted to make the back pages very simple. The first design is very unsucessful, the image looks like it has been switched together and it looks rather tacky. At first i wanted my name to be on the back but i feel as if no words at all looks better and that is when i designed the second page in the style of my reflection.
Paper material testings
Laser cut white paper
Laser-cut thin paper
Azertape
Normal white paper I experimented with different type of textures in the Print room. The dark laser paper was not successful because the paper was too dark and the designs were not appealing on this type of paper. I wanted to try out Azertape because i wanted to try and see if i could makes one of the pages inside the magazine in the same material. However it was also unsucessful due to the fact that the designs overlayed one another. I also tested it out on normal white paper which was not a comeplete dispointment as the others.
Final Outcome chosen designs
These are my selected designs i will include in my Urban fashion magazine from my cover to my back page. I chose these designs because i felt that it reflects to the specific style my magazine will be about through out the mazgine. I refined page 8, only a slight change to it as i missed other important shops in relation to urban wear.
Evluation
My final idea was on urban fashion based in Leeds. Fashion and music go together, so I was extremely interested in the relationship between two. Urban music is a big part of urban culture, which is why the music massively influences urban fashion. I took photographs of people with this particular fashion style in mind whilst in Leeds with the urban areas being the location. The way I designed some of my pages was a reflection of an artist called Lauren Goodwin who was a strong inspiration; she designed three great examples of dynamic forces of a rectangle utilizing point; lines, shapes and typography. I loved the variety of the different tones she used and the meaning and feeling of her design through typography. One of my much-loved pages from my own magazine I have is a great example of urban wear; the main reason it’s one of my favourites is because I used typography to co-inside with the geometric shapes. The design splits the visual space vertically down the centre of the composition which makes it seem like a mirror image that joins to form a circle. I found this brief very difficult at first because i usually design with a target audicnce in mind, however there was none in particular. But as time progressed i found getting the hand of it. I wish i had done more experimentations with paper, however i still could not find the right place to print with the typical magazine paper texture. With saying that i am still happy with my outcome and would not change the design, i think the pages match well.
