LETTER FROM THE EDITOR It’s now November and that means Fall Rally is just around the corner. Other Key Clubbers from different divisions will be coming to our division’s home turf to compete for the spirit stick. D16 has been one of the largest divisions of Key club and it’s our chance to win the
spirit stick. This month’s newsletter will deal with the events that happened during the month of October and a guide to prepare for Fall Rally. Enjoy! Sincerely, YeChan Lee

AIDs Walk The whole Region 7 gathered in LA to participate in the AIDs Walk on October 13th, 2013. North Hollywood Key Clubbers not only participated in the walk, but also volunteered as parking assistants in the morning. Even though North Hollywood Key Clubbers didn’t raise money for the walk, they attended to raise awareness of the harmful disease.
For the morning volunteers, the Key Clubbers met at 5:30 AM. “Volunteering put me in a good mood because I was able to greet AIDs Walk participants and see how happy and excited they were,” said NH Key Club Historian Gabrielle Sumilang. Later, every Key Clubbers from Region 7 met and started walking at 10 AM. Region 7 stayed together from the beginning to the end and finished the 6.2 mi walk with everyone.

Spirit Sessions During the month of October, D16 held 3 separate spirit sessions in order to prepare for the spirit battle during the Fall Rally South. The spirit sessions were held on October 19th, 26th and November 2nd in Valencia Heritage park, Lincoln Park, and El Cariso Community Regional Park. These sessions were divided so that every D16 Key Clubbers from different region were able to attend at least once. The spirit sessions were led by the District Board members and they taught D16’s Fall Rally South cheers and how to make spirit items such as capes, tutus and even D16 posters. “I had a great time learning cheers and having spirit battles,” said NH Key Club Secretary Carla Gomez. “It definitely got me pumped up for Fall Rally!” The Key Clubbers were able to practice D16’s new cheers and prepare for Fall Rally South on November 9th, 2013.
School Supply Drive
North Hollywood Key Club collected donations from the beginning of September until October 29th, 2013 for the School Supply Drive. All the NH Key Clubbers were encouraged to donate school supplies for the underprivileged children. School Supply Drive is not unique to Key Club but to other community service organization. It is nationwide event where these groups collect donations in order to give the underprivileged children an opportunity to learn in schools. 5

WHEN: November 9, 2013, 9 AM - 6PM (Key Clubbers get in an hour and a half EARLIER than everyone else!) WHERE: Six Flags Magic Mountain Tickets will be sold on the day of for $34 and everyone with the season pass gets in for $5

NOTE: DIVISION 16 IS IN RALLY SESSION 2 at 12:00 pm. This means that all those attending Fall Rally should meet in front of the Golden Bear Theatre by 11 am and NO LATER than 11:30am.
PLEASE make sure you have the Medical Release Form on you! These will not be collected, but it is good to have these on you just in case of emergencies. Please don't jinx yourself by saying you never get hurt because you really never know.
