a few iconic Taiwanese to discover the ultimate spirit of Taiwan. This approach not only helps define the material, shape, and structure of Taiwan Tower, but also how the Tower is elevated. Of which the Taiwan Tower is characterized: suppleness and stiff, diverse and dynamics, persistence and unswerving determination.

The execution of this project is based on two major considerations: 1. The primary of the project is intended to create connections between nature and artifact. We try to

build a public open space between the nature sceneries and the bike ways. 2. The design task is to build a toilet facility with

a recreation area for the tourists and local inhabitants.
Site
The project is located in a nature environment called Ping-ling, which is the headstream of Feicuei Dam. The government built bike ways aside the river that is in front the site. Concept
The design strategy of this project tends to minimize

the volume of the building, to make the nature environment stay in harmony, and to use the native plants to recreate the landscape of the site. Solution
Because the project has many characteristics, with crossed, overlapped, and various functional spaces. We use the bearing wall system to maximize interior space and use wood beams to lighten the weight of the roof. It is based on the specific concern that con-

tributes to the nature environment. We use the solar energy system to create power and maintain the river water to flush the toilet. It is not simply a toilet facility, but rather brings a bigger idea about establishing a public space that enhances the interaction of this area.

YEH-SEN SU URBAN STRATEGY
Urban Strategy Program Two buildings contain hostel spaces and public open spaces that could enhance communication between tourists and residents. Site
This project is in An-ping, Tainan. Tainan was the first city in Taiwan and An-ping was the first community in Tainan, there are many historical

spots and we can also see many traditional houses in An-ping. When the economical business arose, people rather choose to hang out in the shops instead of knowing the true context of An-ping. Concept
The urban conditions in An-ping separate into two parts. The first part is for the tourists, fulfilled with shops and people. Another part is for the
â–˛ the new street in 2007
residents which can reveal the true environment in An-ping. The main goal is to rebuild the main street in An-ping and use two areas beside the street in different ways to break the gap between tourists and residents. Solution
Two methods to approach site 1. The first layer is the street with many shops in An-ping. To make people know the culture and history by renewing the road with different materials. 2. The second layer is two hostels both for tourists and residents.

YEH-SEN SU OBJECTS ANALYSIS
Objects Analysis Program The priority of this assignment lies in two directions: 1.To deconstruct and reconstruct specific objects in a rational way. 2.The structures here attempt to revival the broken buildings and empty street.
Site
This project is located in Tainan, Taiwan. This area has been surrounded by the oldest established city in Taiwan, the Hai-an Road is in the center of this city. Concept
The design strategy of this project derives from the unsuccessful developmental project on the underground street, to renew the

street by using the flexible structures. Solution
After considering the identification of contextual constrains, in accordance with the private buildings and public environment, I inserted the flexible structures to balance the ongoing deterioration of the buildings in Hai-an Road caused by the ex-

YEH-SEN SU OBJECTS ANALYSIS
Deconstruct Define the system The first process was to deconstruct the selected object “desk lamp”. Depicting the profiles of this object and using other materials to represent the new interpretation of it. In the working process, I found the relationship of the joints combination. To create the new structures by defining the joints system. The new system consists with two parts. The former is of the fixed part, which maintains the position of the object. The latter is of the variable part, which can be bended and prolonged in different ways.
