Members can participate in one or more of the 85 aerobics and fitness classes including Spin, Zumba™, yoga, and much more. The seasonal pool offers family time, swim lessons, swim team, and adult swimming programs. The Y is far beyond a swim and gym, offering programs such as Diabetes Prevention, childcare, Leader’s Club, youth sports, after-school programs, summer camp, wellness and social programs for active older adults, lifeguard training, and fitness challenges. The Y is truly a community center for the whole family.

GUEST POLICY
JOINING INFORMATION
Guests must adhere to all YMCA policies, rules, swim attire, and usage guidelines. The guest fee will be $6 if accompanied by a member and $10 if not for ages 13 and over, $5 for ages 12 and under.
We do not require a membership contract, but do require a one time joining fee. This fee is payable when you join. Expired or cancelled memberships greater than 90 days are subject to repayment of the Join Fee to renew membership. Join Fees are nonrefundable and non-transferable.
A.W.A.Y. The YMCA of Greater New Orleans endorses the YMCA visiting member program, AWAY (Always Welcome At YMCAs) and welcomes YMCA members outside of the Greater New Orleans area identified by their membership card. Visiting AWAY members are permitted to use our facilities up to 12 times per year.

I WANT TO BE HEALTHY FITNESS & WELLNESS
The Y is focused on healthy living and a big component of that is fitness and wellness. There are lots of reasons why people choose to be active and exercise, and the Y is ready to help you reach your goal, whatever it may be! If you’re a new member, new exerciser, or just someone looking to get back into a routine, the East Jefferson YMCA offers several programs free to members to kick off a healthy lifestyle.
GROUP EXERCISE We offer more than 85 group exercise classes each week at our facilities to meet the needs of seniors, adults, youth and families. Most classes are free for members and include a wide variety of cardio, strength, and mind/body options. In addition to the classes offered in our studios, we offer aquatic classes in our pool during the summer season.
ORIENTATIONS Schedule a free orientation and meet with a Wellness Coach to learn about the programs, classes or equipment that best fit you and your goals. You will learn how to use our equipment and get set up for success in the Wellness Center.
PERSONAL TRAINING We have a team of highly qualified personal fitness trainers available to optimize your time, energy and exercise routine. These trainers have a variety of specialties and can provide you with a personalized, functional and effective workout. We several different packages to help you reach your goals.

KIDS CORNER & KIDS CLUB KIDS CORNER is a fun, safe getaway for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. While you spend some time working out and taking care of yourself, let us care for your children. Kids Corner is an included benefit of our family membership. Snacks are permitted and sometimes provided for nutrition based activities. KIDS CLUB is a place for 5-11 year olds to spend time during afternoons, weekends, and holiday breaks, while you work out or try a new class. This family member benefit includes the same highly trained staff from Kids Corner. Kids Club is a great space that allows older children to enjoy age-appropriate activities. Parents must sign their children into and out of Kids Club.

KIDS NIGHT OUT Drop off the kids (1-12 years old) at the East Jefferson YMCA for an evening of fun and games. Activities include crafts, studio time, and bounce houses. Please pre-register, as available spots fill fast. A $5.00 late fee is added if you register on the day-of.

Y Staff lead weekly small group training classes specifically for teens. Teens are guided through a progression of cardio, strength, cross training, and flexibility exercises and ultimately learn how to set and achieve personal goals. LEADERS CLUB YMCA Leaders Club helps teens (ages 13–18) develop into the kind of leaders who can have a positive impact on the community. Teens gain valuable teamwork and volunteer experience and build a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Please contact the Youth Program Director for eligibility and enrollment. An application is required for consideration. Requirements: 13-18 years old, positive attitude and willingness to learn more about community outreach. Yearly dues are $35 Leaders Club meets once a week and the schedule is set according to school calendars. Please contact the Youth Program Director for additional information.

HOLIDAY CAMP It's a holiday, there is no school, and the kids are home! What to do? We have the answer! The East Jefferson YMCA offers special holiday camps during school breaks. Your children will be well taken care of while having fun during those out-of-school hours. Activities include themed stories, songs, crafts, and holiday decorations! Holiday Camp will be available: Mardi Gras: February 27– March 3 (no camp 2/28) Spring Break: April 10-17 Members: $25/day OR $95 for full camp session Nonmembers: $35.5/day OR $140 for full camp session

Super Hero Training Do you have a little one that is full of energy? If so, we have the class for you! Our Super Hero Training Class is a fun-filled program that will have your child jumping, climbing, crawling, playing with friends, dancing, and having fun! BRUSHES, BUDDIES, & BEYOND Painting Program
Brushes, Buddies and Beyond is a “painting party” specifically for individuals with special needs from ages 5 to 17, and each week the classes are held in a safe and relaxing environment. This program, which is offered in partnership with the George Rodrigue Foundation, provides opportunities to explore and learn more about painting from an instructional artist among friends. Artists get to create their own unique paintings, which can be used for keepsakes or gifts after the session is completed. LEARN TO SAVE A LIFE!
CPR/First Aid Certification Class This program offers an expert-level CPR certification that helps keep healthcare and community professionals prepared and ready to respond as they encounter life-threatening emergencies, provide basic life support, and respond to choking and other airway obstruction incidents. Additionally, the First Aid program will help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond. This is an excellent certification for the workplace as well as the community. You must register beforehand. No same day registrations will be accepted. Registration opens January 1. LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION During this YMCA Lifeguard Course, you will learn the following skills: Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid, how to utilize an AED and Emergency Oxygen in a time of need, how to prevent incidents, and how to recognize and respond to emergencies in the pool and around the deck. The course presents information on the skills and knowledge lifeguards need in pool, lake, river, surf and waterpark environments. Participants MUST attend all course times and complete all online tutorials PRIOR to the first day of class. The pre-work will be sent out 7days prior to the start of the course. The physical prerequisites for the course are:
16 years old or above Treading water for 2 min with no hands Two pool lengths of each: front crawl with head up, sidestroke, breaststroke, breaststroke with head up, and elementary backstroke kick with no hands Feet first and head first surface dive and sprint swim at least 60 feet Pick up object off of bottom of the pool (6 ft) Climb out of pool without assistance of ladder or steps Listen to verbal directions given
