Healthy/Safety Guidelines Children with colds or experiencing illness will not be permitted to attend camp. Prescription medications will not be administered unless a “Medical Authorization Form” has been filled out. All medication must be in the original container. A camper will only be released to those listed on the Authorized Pick Up form OR to the parents listed on the registration form. All camp staff is required to check identification of all persons picking up children from camp. The YMCA will not allow a child to leave with anyone who does not have a picture ID or anyone not listed on the authorized pick up form. Changes (additions and subtractions) to the Authorized Pick Up List or one time pick-ups from camp, need to be done in writing and approved by the on-duty Camp Director. YMCA Staff are mandated child abuse reporters – this includes physical, sexual, emotional, mental abuse and neglect. The YMCA has a 3 incident discipline policy. 1st incident will result in parent notification by phone and/or writing. 2nd will result in a disciplinary action form and meeting with parent and 3rd incident will result in temporary or permanent suspension from camp without refund. The YMCA will document all bumps and bruises and make the parent aware each time an incident or accident occurs. In extreme cases, we will call right away based on the information provided on the campers registration form. In not so extreme cases, we will communicate to the person picking the camper up and they will sign a “bump and bruise” report. If an accident/incident occurs that requires IMMEDIATE medical attention, the YMCA will call 911. The parents will assume fees for the emergency transportation.
Payment Information The YMCA will be auto-drafting summer camp fees from the account noted on the camper registration form 1 WEEK PRIOR to the intended week of camp. Financial assistance is available for those making under $40/K per year but funds are limited – registration and updated paperwork for financial assistance is required and should be turned in quickly to the Welcome Center.
