RIGHT The Capital Campaign For Community Expansion Since 1852, the YMCA of Greater New Orleans has been dedicated to strengthening our community. As the needs of our community continue to grow and evolve, an expansion of our West St. Tammany facility is necessary to help us provide quality programs and services to more people throughout the North Shore community. The goal of the campaign is to raise $XX million for a building expansion and a state-of-the-art aquatics facility that can meet the current and future needs of the community. It will be funded by YMCA members and generous donors from across the community… like you!

Our current facility prevents us from making the most of our potential for social and community impact on the North Shore.

3. GROW, LEARN, THRIVE The new facility will allow us to greatly expand the capacity of our afterschool, Leaderâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Club and summer camp programs so more working families will have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment.

ONE STROKE AT A TIME With demands growing for local aquatic programs for all ages and abilities, the new facility will feature a stateof-the-art aquatics center with a heated outdoor pool, heated 25-meter indoor pool and splash park. This will also allow us to expand our commitment to water safety, instruction and recreation.

The Goal: Youth Development The Need: After School Programs.

15 million 5-14 year olds in this country have no adult supervision after school. Less than 20% of young people participated in organized enrichment activities after school. Students who are busy with after school are: 30% less likely to commit crimes, 37% less likely to have unintended pregnancies, and 49% less likely to be involved with drugs, reports the Ford Foundation Annual Report (2011).
