BUILDING BRIGHT FUTURES September - December 2013 YMCA of Greenville

Enriching Lives Everyday Just as January 1 is the technical start of the year, the start of the school year is for many the true start of a new year. Whether fall is the start or the finale, it is a time for reflection. Has 2013 met the promises and aspirations you had for it? I hope so. But, if not, the Y is here to help you. If you need a new or better exercise routine, a review of your diet or eating habits, perhaps a personal trainer, or maybe just someone to run with—the Y is your support system for healthy living. We can help. In addition to our superb wellness classes and services, our many locations and life-changing youth programs, we are extremely proud of our Y staff. We believe it is our “family” that makes the real difference to our members and is the core of our success. We make every effort to hire people of character and ability, who have a deep desire to be of service. We also select our business partners the same way. We all need a network of cheerleaders who can help us on our personal journey. The Greenville Health System, LiveWell Greenville, and Nutrition Solutions are some of those partners who are dedicated to making our lives healthier and making Greenville better. The generosity of our friends, through their personal financial support and investments of time and energy, make Y services available to all regardless of financial situations. In 2013 we were blessed with nearly $1 million in contributions from Y members and community and business leaders. Your support made it possible for us to invest those dollars into afterschool care, youth sports, summer camp, swim lessons and memberships for families who needed the Y but could not afford it. Thank you so much! If you know of someone who could benefit from participating at the Y, please share your Y experience with them and encourage them to seek us out. The Y family is eager to be a part of their support system—and their cheerleader, too! Yours in health, Scot Baddley President and CEO YMCA of Greenville
