Find your Family’s strength June - August 2014 YMCA of Greenville
A SUMMER FOR GOOD HEALTH Whoever described summer as the “lazy days of summer” never spent any time at the Y. Summer time is prime time for us and our mission. Children spend their summer break with us making friends and staying active in summer day camp, specialty day camps and sports camps. Or they spend a week or two at Camp Greenville, becoming more independent and making memories that will last their lifetime. But summertime at the Y is so much more than just kids’ stuff. There are things to do for the whole family! We provide cutting-edge group exercise classes you can’t find anywhere else, like Beast ModeTM , and TRX, plus favorites like ZUMBA, yoga, Pilates, and kettlebells. If you know you need help getting healthier, the Y is your partner. Every Y member is eligible for the Wellness Works coaching program at no additional cost! In Wellness Works, you will have a relationship with one of our certified instructors who will help you meet your goals, encourage you, and help hold you accountable. Make an appointment today with a Wellness Works coach to get you started! The Y is working hard to be the thought leader in health and wellness for Greenville County. We’ve got some great things planned with some great partners that we know truly move the needle in the health of our neighbors. We look forward to sharing them with you in the coming months. Yours in health, Scot Baddley President and CEO YMCA of Greenville

PRESERVE OUR MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE Water conservation is the most cost-effective and environmentally sound way to reduce our demand for water. Find out what you can do to make sure Greenville has enough water now and for the future. WATER CONSERVATION TIPS: Turn off water while you brush your teeth and save up to four gallons per minute. That’s 200 gallons each week for a family of four. Keep your tap water cold in the refrigerator rather than running water until it’s cold enough for drinking. When washing your car, use a bucket with soapy water. Use a nozzle on your hose for rinsing. This will control the flow of water. Find out more about how to conserve and save money at: www.greenvillewater.com.
