TRADITIONAL DAY CAMPS WEEK-LONG SESSIONS (MON - FRI) MAY 22 - AUGUST 2 | AGES 4-16 Day Camp is full of silliness, fun, and creativity!

With a sense of belonging, kids learn how to build relationships and reach new heights of achievement.

Program: Widji campers choose their own adventure! Instead of providing the same program for all children, they can customize their outdoor summer camp experience. Options include sailing, zip lining, skiing, climbing, banana boat rides, horseback riding, and more!

Meals: Day Campers are provided lunch and snack every day so there’s no need to pack meals throughout the week. Each session’s menu is listed on campwidji.org prior to the week’s beginning.

PATHFINDER NATION Ages 4-5 | $230 Pathfinders is the perfect nation to start your journey at Camp Widjiwagan. Campers will be provided with an introductory experience to camp and a structured schedule. While there will be no add-ons available for this Nation, campers will be able to sample a little of each of the various activity area at camp. Pathfinders have an opportunity to experience Day Camp for the first time. After being a Pathfinder, campers are encouraged to move up into the Braves Nation.

FIRST CAMP Ages 5-7 | $385 BRAVES NATION Ages 5-7 | $285 Campers in the Brave Nation will experience a fun-filled week traveling as a tribe through the most popular camp activities tailored to their age appropriate needs. This nation is specially designed for our younger campers, some of whom may be experiencing camp for the first time.

First Camp offers an introduction to the magic of Overnight Camp life to our youngest campers!

Under the careful and constant supervision of counselors specifically chosen to care for this age group, campers will participate in a week of camp that combines Day Camp with two overnights.

Campers will spend Monday and Tuesday participating in Day Camp programming, such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming and adventure games. On Wednesday, campers will arrive at camp with their bags packed and move into a YMCA Camp Widjiwagan cabin for two nights of Overnight Camp.

Campers will check out on Friday afternoon with plenty of memories and stories to share!

THUNDERBIRD NATION Ages 9-11 | $285 During their Thunderbird Nation experience, campers spend their days trying new activities and participating in some of Camp Widjiwagan’s most exciting events including Under Siege. No two days are ever the same in this fun program. Additionally, certain new activities and opportunities become available at this age. CHIEF NATION Ages 11-13 | $285 The Chief Nation is designed for the camper who still wants the traditional camp experience, but is ready for new challenges. We combine all the fun and excitement of Thunderbird Nation, with bonus features reserved only for the Chief Nation. Chief Nation campers will choose their own activities for the week, play themed allnation camp games, and create traditions which will carry on for years to come, additionally this nation features extra teambuilding and leadership activities. Step up to become a CHIEF!

CREW is a leadership development Day Camp program for ages 13-15.

This specialty program's goal is to develop leadership skills that young people can use throughout their lives to identify and achieve goals. CREW members will participate in a variety of camp activities including handson experiences that will help them develop their leadership and teamwork skills. Some of the skills the program focuses on include goal setting, teamwork, responsibility and communication.

These skills are developed through role modeling, activities, discussions, journals and mentoring.

FULLY-THEMED DAY CAMPS PRINCESS CAMP Ages 5-7 Session 5 | $325 Dust off your tiara and get ready to twirl! This program invites young ladies to embrace their inner princess. Campers will develop independence and build self-confidence through the creation of their princess persona while learning various new skills. Campers will enjoy dance lessons, etiquette, cooking, arts and crafts, and the opportunity to build their own fairy tale castles! Girls in this program will work towards write their own princess story and play a key role in the Big Game for that week.

PIRATE CAMP Ages 5-7 Session 9 | $325 This program offers campers an opportunity to harness their creativity and allow their pirate dreams to come alive! Campers will learn new skills in marksmanship, treasure map reading, sword making, climbing, and flag hoisting. Campers will prepare for and participate in many pirate “battles” as well as building their own cardboard boats to race and defend!

GIRL POWER CAMP Ages 8-10 & 11-13 Sessions 3 & 8 | $325 Girl Power is for dynamic and inspired girls who want to challenge themselves and each other to be their very best! Campers will have a full week of climbing, swimming, team and individual challenges, a trail ride with one of our horses, and archery. They also get to spend a whole night at camp on Thursday with s’mores and campfire stories! Form meaningful friendships and build self-confidence as you develop and sharpen your skills to prepare for the ultimate GIRL POWER OLYMPIAD on Friday!

ALIEN INVASION CAMP Ages 9-13 Session 2 | $325 Join in on the adventure that’s out of this world! During this exciting new day camp program, campers will use Nerf guns and foam dart blasters to protect camp from the alien scourge. This camp will challenge their problem-solving skills while they have a blast! We create a fun and challenging environment in which campers will complete missions as a team while learning about teamwork, field strategy, marksmanship and various outdoor survival skills.

STAR WARS: ROGUE TEAM Ages 9-13 Session 7 | $325 Star Wars fans will have the opportunity to work together throughout the week to infiltrate the Imperial defenses layer by layer and steal the plans to the Death Star in efforts to return them back to the Rebel Alliance. Campers will have to use their mental and physical skills, wits and the Force to succeed in the face of the evil empire.

FUTURE QUEST Ages 9-13 Session 4 | $325 This fully-immersive camp pulls inspiration and activities from popular dystopian young adult books. Future Quest will pit campers in challenging settings in which they must identify their allies and activate their survival skills. In the wake of the uprising, campers will unite to face a labyrinth of challenges that will test their abilities to problem solve, work together and overcome obstacles against incredible odds.

DAY SKILL CAMPS THEATER Ages 7-9 & 9-13 Session 6 | $325

COMICCON ART Ages 7-10 Session 8 | $325

Campers will work together to produce a fantastic theatrical production throughout the week featuring colorful characters, hilarious hijinx and more based around favorite fairy tale characters that we all know and love. Campers will practice perform and create their set pieces and costumes throughout the week leading up to a final production on Friday prior to our Parent Show. This is a great camp for youth looking to try out theater!

This is the perfect camp for the aspiring artist. Campers will create their own fanart throughout the week from their favorite comic books, series, anime and books!

Drawings, paintings and comic strips will be covered. Friday campers will dress up as their favorite characters and host a convention for all the other campers to attend. Campers will also participate in a variety of camp activities during the week including swim time and banana boats.

SPLASH! AQUATIC ADVENTURES Ages 9-13 Sessions 9 | $325

BULLSEYE! ARCHERY, SLINGSHOTS, & MORE! Ages 9-13 Session 5 | $325

Join in an exciting week filled extra water activities and a trip to Nashville Shores!

Campers will enjoy the Wet Willie, go on a boat tour of Percy Priest Reservoir, Banana boat and have an epic water balloon battle. You won’t want to miss this amazing offering.

Hone your skills in target sports in this fun camp that will challenge campers in a variety of ways. Campers will head offsite one day for an exciting round of Archery Tag. Friday campers will compete in the Bullseye Blitz Biathlon where they will have a series of shooting challenges set up around camp with archery, slingshots, and Nerf where they will race for the best overall time.

WIDJI GUITAR BASICS CAMP Ages 9-13 Session 4 | $325 Every want to learn guitar? Basics from beginner level chords and tuning your instrument will all be covered in this camp designed for beginner to intermediate level musicians. Campers will practice in a group setting and learn a few basic songs as well to round out their musical experience. This camp is made possible by the genorosity of the Boedeker Foundation.

WIDJI SCHOOL OF ROCK Ages 9-13 Session 7 | $325 Have an interest in Music? This camp is designed to explore and expand your interest as campers will work together to practice and perform songs together in a garage band setting. The focus is for young and aspiring musicians to get the opportunity to play in an ensemble setting and learn a few popular songs and encourage their development as a musician. This camp is made possible by the genorosity of the Boedeker Foundation.

LEGO CAMP Ages 7-10 Sessions 4 & 9 | $325 Campers in this program will build skyscrapers and cars; learn about levers; and have a blast doing it! Over the course of the week, campers will be challenged as they build sets that grow in complexity and skill.

They will put their knowledge to the test as they create life-size Legos of their own and build creations for the All-Camp Game on Thursday. This program will not only build campers’ brain power, fine motors skills and creativity; it will also help them explore a world of their imagination and bring it to life for a week.

LEGO ANIMATION Ages 9-13 Sessions 1, 3, & 6 $325 Join a small group of other campers as they create fun, original and unique animations using LEGOS. Campers will learn basic storyboarding, shot composition, editing and storytelling in this awesome week of camp! Campers will also swim each day, enjoy a banana boat ride, and participate in other traditional camp activities. Friday campers will gather around for a short film festival where we showcase their creations for campers to enjoy!

DAY RANCH CAMPS BOOTS AND BITS Ages 7-10 | $345 The Boots and Bits program is filled with fun, friends and our favorite, horses! Each rider will experience the joy and responsibility of taking care of their own horse through daily activities such as grooming, tacking, horseback riding lessons and trail rides. Ranchers will spend most of their week in the saddle and with the horses, but will also have time to enjoy traditional camp activities such as archery, canoeing, swimming, ropes courses, arts and crafts and much more. All riders are placed in riding groups based on an assessment of their current riding skills. All riding levels are welcome!

WRANGLERS Ages 10-16 | $345 The Wranglers program gives older campers an opportunity to advance their riding skills and experience the joy and responsibility of taking care of their own assigned horse. This program teaches campers the skills needed to care for horses through riding and ground lessons. Every day, Wranglers groom and tack their horse before heading out on the trails or participating in an arena lesson with an experienced equestrian counselor. Wranglers spend most of their time at the barn with the horses but also have time to enjoy traditional camp activities. All riders are placed in riding groups based on an assessment of their current riding skills, but all riding levels are welcome. Wranglers have the unique opportunity to attend an overnight campout each Thursday night!

Campers who are interested in trying an overnight ranch program are encouraged to register for this add-on.

PONY CAMP Ages 5-6 | $325 Pony Camp gives younger day campers an introduction to ranch camp by working with some of our best friends: PONIES! In this program, campers learn the basic fundamentals and have a daily one-on-one (rider and instructor) riding time with one of the Widji ponies. Pony campers learn about grooming, tacking, and horse nutrition. In addition to being in a ranch program, campers also participate in traditional camp activities for a portion of the day.

DAY FARM CAMP Ages 7-12 | $315 Farm Camp is full of fun and adventure for kids who love animals! Children in Farm Camp spend their week caring for all Widji animals, growing plants in the greenhouse and garden and also participate in a trail ride on one of our beautiful lakeside trails. This program fosters a respect for nature and instills a sense of responsibility while allowing campers to still experience the activities and magic of Widji including climbing, survival skills, arts and crafts, swimming, boating, archery, and more.

SPIRIT OF AMERICA Ages 12-15 | FREE For both Day and Overnight camp! This program has two parts: Part 1 is primarily focused on Boater Safety. Our instructors use curriculum from the Boat Tennessee course, recognized by the United States Coast Guard, and campers have the opportunity to fulfill the requirements for earning a Tennessee Boater’s License. Part 2 is an introduction to piloting each type of watercraft at Camp Widji—Sail, Paddle, and Motor boating.

TRAIL RIDE Ages 7-15 | $20 WARRIORS, THUNDERBIRDS, CHIEFS & CREW ONLY Campers learn the basics of horsemanship including proper approach, mounting, riding, steering and braking. Campers go on a ride on one of Widji’s lakeside trails. This is meant to be an introduction to horses that is fun and safe with no previous experience required.

WIDJI WATER SPORTS Ages 9-15 | $150 THUNDERBIRDS, CHIEFS & CREW ONLY Widji Wake Sports takes campers on a lake adventure! They’ll have opportunities to wakeboard, waterski, and for those over 11 years old, surf! Widji Water Sports starts with the basics on “Dry Dock” and progresses as the camper’s skill increases!

This add-on is staffed by our highly trained boat drivers who can help the first-time skier feel at ease while challenging campers who grew up in the water to reach new heights. Five separate lessons are included and campers can choose whether they focus on water skiing, wake boarding or wake surfing.

CAMPOUT Ages 7-16 | $50 WARRIORS, THUNDERBIRDS, CHIEFS & CREW ONLY What if you could go to Day Camp with your friends and then spend the night camping out at Camp Widjiwagan? Pack your duffel bag with overnight gear and then spend an evening in a night under the stars in tents! Your counselors will be the same, your Tribe will be the same, but the experience will be even more amazing than ever! This is a great way to test out the Overnight Camp experience for future camp-outs. This is a limited size add-on.

WRANGLER CAMPOUT Ages 10-16 | $50 WRANGLERS ONLY Wranglers have the unique opportunity to attend an overnight campout each Thursday night!

Enjoy extra time at the barn and in the water then dance the night away at the overnight camp dance. Campers who are interested in trying an overnight ranch program are encouraged to register for this add-on.

While at Traditional Overnight Camp, kids get a feel for the variety of activities offered as they spend a week participating in cabin activities and exciting programs and focusing on developing various skills of their own choosing. All the while, campers forge friendships, strengthen confidence, sharpen character and create lasting memories on Widjiwagan’s beautiful 320 acres.

Every day at Camp Widjiwagan is packed with challenge and excitement. General activities available at Camp Widji include canoeing, archery, ropes activities, drama, nature activities, arts and crafts, sports, sailing and many more, and every camper will have the opportunity to swim daily.

Progressive programs allow for new skill orientation each year a child returns to camp, with specialized activities for each age group and village. All of Camp Widjiwagan’s Overnight campers come together for delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, and during unique and exciting evening activities. No week at Camp Widjiwagan is complete without the traditional campfires, songs, night hikes and camp-outs! Spend the summer at Widji and watch your child grow!

VOYAGER VILLAGE Ages 7-9 | $390

FRONTIER VILLAGE Ages 7-9 | $710

This half week program running from Sunday through Wednesday, is designed for 7-9 year olds who may not have been to overnight camp before. Running on a schedule identical to the Main Camp Villages, this is a great choice to introduce a first time camper to the magical world of overnight camping.

There is never a dull moment in Frontier Village. Each day is jam packed with exciting games and activities specially designed for this age group. Counselors are trained to ensure a positive experience for these young campers, some of whom may be experiencing camp for the first time! Frontier campers learn how to cook their own dinner at their Monday night cookout and follow it up with a Frontier camp-out and campfire!

Frontier campers enjoy pool time each day. Frontier participates in the all camp game during the week. Campers also choose three other activities to fill out their own daily schedule.

NEW YURT VILLAGE Camp Widjiwagan is adding a NEW Yurt Village for 2017! The six Yurts will serve as the home for Widji’s Overnight Ranchers, Leadership Programs, and Fully-Themed Overnight Camps throughout the summer! Each Yurt sleeps 12 people for a total of 72 beds in the entire village. All Yurts will be fully air conditioned and heated. Restrooms for campers in the Yurts will be located in the nearby Tortuga Lodge.

The new Tortuga Lodge will serve as the bathhouse and dining area for summer campers and will be fully air conditioned and heated.

STAR WARS Ages 9-15 | Sessions 2 & 7 | $740 Are you prepared to embark on the greatest adventure ever seen in a galaxy long ago and far away? There is war brewing between the Republic, Clones, Trade Federation, Outer Rim Planets…and there have been reports that the Sith are reemerging. Join forces with the greatest heroes of the universe and take down the darkest evil ever faced. From the moment you arrive until you check out on Saturday, you will cease to be a Muggle and will enter the Widji Branch of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a student. Do you have what it takes to learn Potions? Are you ready for daily Quidditch practice? Do you know your spell book forwards and back? Tons of activity, imagination and fun will fill this week. Come prepared to immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter, while enjoying all that Camp Widjiwagan has to offer!

MINECRAFT Ages 9-15 | Sessions 5 & 9 | $740 Are you ready to actively immerse yourself into a world of building, creating and adventure? There are endless amounts of resources for you and your team to gather. You will spend your collecting those resources, as well as emerald ore to trade for food, supplies and objects to help you on your missions. Learn survival skills, such as fire-, raft- and shelter-building; learn other skills,such as Archery, Canoeing, Climbing and Outdoor Cooking; and experience camp outs. Will you be able to use everything you’ve learned to defeat the Ender dragon?

SAILING ADVENTURES Ages 9-15 | Session 9 | $740 A fully-themed week based on the Brotherband Chronicles. Junior Ranch Campers ride each day on their own horses, participate in ground lessons, and explore Camp on trail rides. In addition to being in a ranch program, campers also participate in traditional camp activities for a portion of the day. All riders are placed in riding groups based on an assessment of their current riding skills, but all riding levels are welcome!

Overnight Ranch Camps are unlike any other.

Especially in Widji Ranch, campers get to watch the sunrise from horseback while out on the trails!

Widji Ranchers are assigned to their own horses for the entire week and experience the joy and responsibility of taking care of their horses through daily activities such as grooming, tacking, horseback riding lessons, and trail rides.

Ranchers spend most of their week in the saddle and with the horses, but also have time to enjoy traditional camp activities such as archery, canoeing, swimming, ropes courses, arts and crafts, and much more. All riders are placed in riding groups based on an assessment of their current riding skills, but all riding levels are welcome.

Whether it’s working on cantering in one of the riding arenas or jumping off of the pamper pole, Teen Ranch Camp is a program for older ranchers to take it to the next level! Teen ranchers spend the majority of their day at the barn but also experience high adventure activities suited for their age. All riders are placed in riding groups based on an assessment of their current riding skills, but all riding levels are welcome!

OVERNIGHT FARM CAMP Ages 7-11 Session 4 $730 At overnight Farm Camp, kids spend even more time with the horses while participating in daily riding lessons and trail rides. Farm Camp is a unique and exciting program that allows campers to learn and grow through exploration of both farm animals and the garden. The overnight aspect amplifies campers’ connection to nature and further instills a sense of responsibility which allows campers to deepen the connection with the animals they care for daily. Children also experience traditional camp activities such as zip lining, arts and crafts, swimming and, much more! TRAIL RIDE Ages 7-15 | $20 Campers learn the basics of horsemanship including proper approach, mounting, riding, steering and braking. Campers go on a ride on one of Widji’s lakeside trails. This is meant to be an introduction to horses that is fun and safe with no previous experience required.

WIDJI WATER SPORTS Ages 9-15 | $150 Widji Wake Sports starts with the basics on “Dry Dock” and progresses as the camper’s skill increases! Widji Wake Sports is staffed by our highly trained boat drivers who can help the first-time skier feel at ease while challenging campers who grew up in the water to reach new heights. Five separate lessons are included and campers can choose whether they focus on water skiing, wake boarding or wake surfing.

SPIRIT OF AMERICA Ages 12-15 | FREE For both Day and Overnight camp! This program has two parts: Part 1 is primarily focused on Boater Safety. Our instructors use curriculum from the Boat Tennessee course, recognized by the United States Coast Guard, and campers have the opportunity to fulfill the requirements for earning a Tennessee Boater’s License. Part 2 is an introduction to piloting each type of watercraft at Camp Widji—Sail, Paddle, and Motor boating.

Campers with an intermediate experience level with music will have a blast rockin’ out in this exciting two week musical adventure. Kids in Widji Jam Camp work together to build their band and prepare for the final showcase! Personal coaches inspire and nourish a love for music while campers develop discipline in playing daily.

After TWO WHOLE WEEKS training as a band in guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and vocals, kids get to show off their musical talents for friends and family in the GRAND FINALE CONCERT!

On this exciting and challenging trip, campers will travel off-site for the week to experience the many wonders nature has to provide. Adventurers will experience the thrill of whitewater rafting, zip lining, and rock climbing then return to their campsite each day exhausted yet exhilarated to debrief and decompress around the campfire. Along with rafting, rappelling and caving, adventurers will learn important outdoor living skills such as cooking over a fire and setting up camp. Your child will return with renewed confidence and maturity and many exciting stories to share!

This progressive program provides opportunities for constant feedback and individualized training for those interested in becoming a future Camp Widjiwagan counselor. CITs will assist with the leadership and guidance of campers, as well as everyday counselor responsibilities, while receiving constant feedback. Additionally, CITs will assist with special service projects around Camp Widjiwagan.

The LIT program fosters and develops group dynamics, problem solving, and the camping skills we look for in future staff members and leaders. Campers participate in the main camp activities and programs while focusing on their leadership skills and program development. This training is a stepping stone for older campers who are interested in transitioning into future camp leaders or want to develop leadership skills but still enjoy the magic of being a camper. LITs will divide during the day to shadow counselors and help teach activities. They come back together at night to do camp activities as a LIT group.
