Yokota’s Pet Fashion Photography Contest
Winner
Believe it or not, the Boeding family captured their award-winning photo on a whim during one of their daily walks to the East Side baseball fields. Parents Chris and Carrie Boeding shot the photo on an iPhone when they noticed the global hawk aircraft parked on the flight line. Even their dog’s bandana was merely a coincidence. “My mom makes him bandanas, and so he almost always has a themed bandana on, and it happened to be right around the 4th of July,” Carrie explained. It helped that their Samoyed dog, Belukha, is incredibly photogenic. “He is very pretty and he knows it too.” She swears he stands taller whenever someone compliments his looks. The charismatic pup loves people and other dogs and has the unique talent of catching his tail. He can often be seen running in tight circles with his tail clutched in his mouth. It was Chris and Carrie’s 7-year-old son, Cavanaugh, who suggested they submit the photo in the contest. He was elated to find out they won.
