Urabandai Three-Day Trip
TERMS & CONDITIONS TRIPS & TOURS All trips and tours are for SOFA personnel, dependents and guests. Full payment is required at time of reservation. MLC, IHA and JASDAF may sign up seven days prior to the event. Trip destinations, details and prices may chance due to varying factors including weather, road closures, base exercises, etc. Children must remain with their parents at all times. For additional requirements and information, please ask ODR staff for the trip itinerary. RENTAL EQUIPMENT Equipment may be reserved with full payment up to 120 days in advance by active duty military, Reserve, National Guard and their family members with a valid I.D. card. Local nationals and base contractor employees may reserve equipment with full payment up to 20 days in advance. Persons not assigned to Yokota Air Base must have official TDY or leave orders. Full terms and conditions will be provided at the time of reservation.

Wed • 8 Jan • 4 a.m.–9 p.m. $60 All Ages Sign-Up: 9 Dec–5 Jan Includes: Transit Kagura is a large resort that caters mostly to intermediate level skiers and boarders. Its high elevation provides for great snow and exciting runs. It has 24 lifts, two trams and two parks.
Kurohime Kogen

Be on the look out for views of Lake Nojiri as you ride down the eastern slopes of Mount Kurohime.

Nozawa Onsen & Fire Festival Two-Day Trip
Wed–Thu • 15–16 Jan Depart: 4 a.m., Return: 9 p.m. $150 All Ages Sign-Up: 16 Nov–12 Jan Includes: Transit, Lodging, Dinner & Breakfast Ski or snowboard in powder heaven and experience one of Japan’s top three fire festivals all in one trip. During the festival, a massive tower is erected as a petition for the health and growth of the town’s first-born sons. At night, villagers rush at the tower with torches. The town’s 25-year-old men fight off the villagers at the base of the tower while the 42-year-old men guard the top. The event climaxes in a massive bonfire as the tower succumbs to flames.
