When Ashley joined an Olympic Weightlifting gym to gain experience for a contract job she had at the time, she gained much more than she expected from her visit that day.
Brunei born Jen Deng (also known as JD), happened to be head coach at that same gym, and after meeting him, the six weeks Ashley had planned to spend there flew out the door! The spark they felt between them has lasted to this day, along with her lifting.
On one particular day, Ashley was working on a photoshoot with photographer, Mark from Timeless Creations. Meanwhile, JD was being dropped off at the shoot location so Ashley wouldn’t recognise his car. While they were in the shoot, Ashley could hear footsteps getting closer. She says she remembers getting slightly annoyed that someone had clearly not seen that they were shooting. She continued posing though, assuming Mark would have stopped shooting if the person was in the shot. Then she turned around, and there was JD with a giant bunch of flowers and a gorgeous ring!
Ashley says, “JD collaborated or conspired with Mark leading up to the day of the scheduled shoot, to arrive at the end and drop to one knee. Together the two scoped out the perfect location for the moment, down to choosing the direction of the shot based on shadows expected at that time in the afternoon.”
She remembers how a week earlier, Mark had mentioned to her that he would like to do some extra shots in a specific location – and to bring a dress to the shoot. At the time, she didn’t think anything of it as she was used to modelling on various creative projects.
reallife weddings
JD proposed in 2020 during the height of COVID, so they gave themselves some extra planning time as a buffer, hoping that things might get better and JD’s family from overseas would be able to join them. As the day drew closer, unfortunately COVID restrictions meant that most of JD’s family were unable to fly into Australia. So Ashley and JD went to them instead – virtually!
“For JD’s Chinese heritage, we did a virtual Chinese wedding tea ceremony”, she says. There was also a surprise Chinese Lion dance performance as part of their reception entrance and before their wedding, they also enlisted the help of zoom to hold a praying ceremony to JD’s family ancestors. Both wanted their wedding to have as many elements as possible from both JD’s culture and Ashley’s to make it the luckiest wedding in two cultures. Ashley adhered to tradition and wore something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue; she even had a silver sixpence in her shoe! They spent the night before apart, and where possible they included the Chinese character for ‘double happiness’ in decorations, on guest favours, on the favour bags, on their wedding cake topper, on their invitations, on their wedding signage, and even engraved on the inside of JD’s wedding ring.
reallife weddings
“We paid the most attention to choosing our photographer and videographer” she says, “as we wanted the biggest day of our lives captured in the most perfect way, and so we could look back at our amazing photos and always watch our wedding video like our favourite movie of all time!”
They chose Mark and Adrian from Timeless Creations, who they say were fantastic.
“They went above and beyond to capture every moment” she remarks, adding, “they were open to all our ideas, and their professionalism and sense of humour made it an absolute dream. Our wedding photos speak for themselves.”
Rather than having an engagement party before their wedding, Ashley and JD had a year anniversary lunch at Pialligo Estate with local family and the best man. It was a great way to find out more about the venue as they drove them around in one of their buggies to showcase the ceremony and photography locations.
Ashley says their reception was perfect. “If there’s somewhere that knows how to do weddings, and make you feel special, it’s Pialligo Estate”. Their guests loved it too!
After their ‘western ceremony’, Ashley and JD held a Chinese tea ceremony with their family. As receiving the tea is a way of giving blessing, she says, “we also gave all guests a serve of the chrysanthemum tea blend that we used in our family tea ceremony to extend this tea ceremony to everyone at our wedding”.
Ashley and JD were relieved that they nailed the big ‘wow’ elements of their first dance at their reception, and she says, “We had an absolute blast with the International Dance Studio, neither of us dance, but we picked it up for a convincing first dance thanks to them!”
After an incredible day, Ashley and JD spent their first night at Hotel Realm. They then went to Fiji for their honeymoon which they say was the most friendly, happy and beautiful place they’ve ever been!
“We split our time in Fiji over two resorts and can’t recommend enough Likuliku resort on Malolo Island.”
Ashley’s wedding advice: “Delegate and make sure you have a moment to sit back and enjoy your day!”
“We both felt like we were hosting the event, not necessarily enjoying the event. While it was an incredible day, we ran out of time to get to everything, and to speak to everyone. I would delegate more or have a dedicated person to answer all of the questions and direct the events, so we could have more time to enjoy the event that was all about us!”
“We’ve been married for over 8 months now, and we love looking back on our wedding and the beautiful memories we have with all our friends and family. As we have settled into married life, we have also started growing our family with our 7 month old fur child, a blue merle Australian Shepherd called Kobe!”
At first apprehensive about planning a wedding, Natacha and Christopher found that it actually turned out to be easy and fun! This was in part due to the short four months they gave themselves which demanded more decisive decisions and less agonizing over details, but also thanks to their ability to prioritise what was important to them.
Natacha and Chris, born and raised in Melbourne and Sydney respectively, met each other through a mutual friend in Brisbane, where they both lived and worked at the time. Their relationship took off quickly and after two and a half years together, Natacha was instantly brought to tears when they “casually” went ring shopping and came across “the ring”. With a European holiday on the horizon, Natacha was hopeful of a proposal in Paris, the City of Love. Unfortunately, their Paris trip didn’t eventuate due to strikes and riots at the time. A proposal in the Swiss Alps was still a possibility, but it passed and still no proposal. Their romantic Tasmanian holiday planned for early 2020 was derailed due to COVID, so between lockdowns, they managed to book an Airbnb in Maleny, Queensland.
“Chris was so nervous and awkward that day that it was very obvious what was going to happen,” Natacha remembers, “he bizarrely said, ‘what a special day’, while we were sitting on a very normal and not special bench in the local town. Anyway, it was a very easy yes when he asked” she says.
reallife weddings
Due to border restrictions they decided to wait until late 2021 to start planning their wedding. They had originally decided to give themselves the usual 12 to 18 months to plan, but once they started, they got really excited and decided to just go for it! They found that deciding on a winter wedding in four months’ time brought some benefits their way also. Canberra wedding suppliers were quieter at this time, so they were able to book in almost every supplier they wanted.
Top priority was given to their search for the perfect venue. Something beautiful, local and easy to work with, where everything could be done on site were their criteria. The Royal Hotel Queanbeyan ticked all of the boxes!
Makeup for Natacha took a lot of thought and research, as did Chris’s suit. Their photographer and musician were also important aspects they considered in their wedding planning. Tiffany Alexandria Photography was chosen as their photographer and Chicago Charles, their musician. Says Natacha, “We did a pre-wedding shoot and found that really useful in deciding what poses felt natural compared to the ones that made us giggle so much that we ended up with double chins in the photos. Tiffany had a list of photos we wanted on the day and was really obliging of all the guests and careful to not be intrusive.”
Working to a budget within a short time frame made it necessary to exclude what they considered to be extras. For Natacha and Chris, these excluded extras were bomboniere, videography and a bridal party. One thing they made sure to include for their guests though was great food. “We know the pain of being a hungry wedding guest, so we also paid close attention to the portion sizes” they reveal. The chef also designed a grazing table with roving canapes for the cocktail hour that by far exceeded their expectations.
As their day drew closer, their prewedding celebrations got underway with a hot air balloon ride together, followed by dinners with friends and family as they arrived in Canberra.
reallife weddings
Guests arrived from Darwin, Townsville, Melbourne, Sydney and regionally for their wedding. Greeting their guests together, Natacha and Chris found that from the moment they started arriving, everything from the architecture, attentiveness of the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan staff, to the food and beverages, received glowing reviews.
“The staff at the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan, in particular Bianca and Matt, exceeded our expectations. Bianca took every change, question and random request in her stride, and also gave us wonderful advice that made the day run smoothly and lots of fun.”
Initially wanting an outdoor ceremony, they eventually decided on having it indoors to reduce their stress on the day in case of rain or cold weather. Their ceremony included an acknowledgement to their parents and when they read their vows to each other, they turned off their microphones so only they could hear each other’s vows. Their “silent vows” made it feel much more personal and intimate. Natacha had wanted a colourful dress and rainbow flowers originally, but Chris was not so keen and preferred a more traditional colour scheme. Their stylist managed to find a compromise. “The styling of the venue was beautiful and made us and the night feel so special” they remember. Their night turned into an awesome party with guests dancing all night from 8.30pm to 11pm. Natacha and Chris didn’t expect their guests to be dancing so hard all night, and their only wish is that it could have gone on for longer! Their friends created a tunnel for them to dance through at the end of the night, with their musician, Chicago Charles matching the energy of the room. They remember feeling so loved as they danced amongst their friends. “We loved everything about the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan.”
With the whole top floor to themselves, it was very private and they loved that they were able to walk a hundred metres to the bridal suite at the end of the night.
They have so many special memories of their wedding. “We love that we maximised our time together and our time with our guests. We achieved this through a family dinner the night before, the first look, and then greeting our guests together, and limiting the couple photos away from the venue between the ceremony and reception” they recall.
For a couple who were at first apprehensive about the idea of planning a wedding, even toying with the idea of eloping, Natacha and Chris are now so glad that they followed through and planned a wedding that reflected them as a couple.
“It ended up being an awesome party that we didn’t want to leave at the end of the night!”
Natacha and Chris’s wedding advice: “Don’t be afraid to simplify your day (if you want), make it your own and cut out traditions if they aren’t meaningful to you. Pick vendors that are going to enhance your day, not add stress or drama. Don’t feel pressured into booking a vendor if you’re not 100% after sleeping on it.”

When you know, you know – and Belle knew pretty much straightaway that Shane was ‘the one’. They met at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner in October 2010. It was a night they both remembered as they sat across from each other and laughed all night!
When Shane proposed, they were enjoying a holiday with their one-year-old daughter at their favourite location at Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast. It took another five and a half years before they would say “I do” to each other. This was not because they didn’t want to get married, but because they had plans to have another baby soon. It was when their second child turned two, that they started to think more seriously about getting married. Says Belle, “we were engaged for five years before getting married.” Surprisingly, despite having young children, they managed to plan their wedding in only six months! Their main priority was finding the right venue. As they both loved the beach, wanted a family friendly venue, and Shane had always enjoyed playing golf there, Narooma Golf Club was the perfect choice.
Belle and Shane’s wedding was very much a family affair, with not only their daughter and son involved in the wedding, but their nieces and nephews, and Belle’s bridesmaids’ children as well! In total six flower girls and five-page boys!
“They were surprisingly really well behaved” adds Belle.
reallife weddings
Their son, as well as being a page boy was also their ringbearer, while their daughter, a flower girl, also read an acknowledgement of country and was gifted her own special ring from her parents.
Belle says she will never forget the special moment when her father walked her down the aisle, and her brother Stevie as MC, working hard to ensure they both had a memorable wedding day.
“The only thing I would change would have been to invite all our family members,” she says. “We decided to just have immediate family and friends.”
Belle and Shane had guests who had travelled from Melbourne, Brisbane, Bega, Sunshine Coast and Canberra to be with them on their special day. Those who could also attended a dinner with the couple the night before their wedding which was held at the local bowling club. When their wedding day arrived, Belle’s makeup artist, Kylie got to work.
“Kylie was so much fun!” she exclaims. “She worked all day glamming up my two bridesmaids, my mum and even made the flower girls feel special by adding some dust to their eyelids and lip-gloss.”
Belle absolutely loved her wedding makeup!
reallife weddings
Their photographer, Tara Chiu from Daisy Hill Photography was their perfect match. As well as being great with kids, Belle says “she was professional, personable, took initiative and took the most precious photos of our special day.”
Their cake, their flowers and their entertainment were all amazing, and their celebrant was organised and helpful, recalls Belle.
“She made our ceremony run smoothly and exactly how we wanted it to be.”
Their reception, which was upstairs at Narooma Golf Club had room for a dance floor, band or DJ, plenty of room for the kids to play, and Belle recalls that “the view is magical there. The glass window panels go right across so you can see along the horizon.”
The Functions coordinator and Team at Narooma Golf Club made sure their day ran smoothly, and they even delivered food to the bridal party when they were having their photos taken.
With their band, Salt Entertainment keeping the atmosphere alive, and everyone on the dancefloor until the end of the night, Belle and Shane couldn’t be happier. They then spent the night of their wedding at Amooran Apartments which was just across the road from Narooma Golf Club – a nice easy walk after a big day.
Belle’s wedding advice:
“Keep things simple. Delegate jobs to family members and friends. Do what’s right for you and your partner – you aren’t going to please everyone! Meet with the people you are going to use on the day (florist, celebrant, photographer etc), so you can explain exactly what you are looking for. When selecting a dress make sure you are able to sit down in the dress and feel comfortable in it. Practice walking in your heels before the day and if you are walking on grass, purchase some heel stoppers. If you are having a beach wedding, pack some baby powder to get the sand off your feet! Lastly, take some time to take it all in. The day flies by!”

Ame and Anthony were both drawn to each other from the day they first met, and to this day their life together is one of genuine connection and love.
Initially meeting at work, Ame and Anthony became friends over cheeky coffee room banter. This soon grew to include daily lunches together, and after about eight months, they started dating.
It was a very romantic, private moment in the Snowy Mountains region when Anthony proposed to her.
When they were ready to start planning, they worked out what aspects of a wedding were important to them.
“Knowing the priorities at the start made our wedding planning process stress-free and a lovely experience together.”
Ame’s wish list was for videography and fairy lights. Anthony wanted a custom suit and to have their wedding bands made by the jeweller who created Ame’s engagement ring. Together they agreed they wanted to have their ceremony and reception at the same location, and highlighted professional photography as a must-have!
The venue they chose was Centennial Vineyards Restaurant, which was a winery in the Southern Highlands.
“The location we chose was exactly what we were looking for, it was gorgeous” they recall.
reallife weddings
All of their suppliers were amazing they say. Their videography, See Infinity Products; their jeweller, Harlequin Jewellers, and Roger Bartholomew who created Anthony’s custom suit. Their photographer, they agree, was “AMAZING. A Shot above the Rest are incredible. We could not recommend them more highly for any type of photography.”
Ame and Anthony also had their engagement photos with them which they say were stunning!
“They made our wedding day photography seamless, effortless (for us...!), natural and relaxed, while ensuring that we had enough time to capture the important aspects.”
Their guests travelled from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Launceston and surrounding regions to share and celebrate their special day.
It was such a beautiful and happy day for us
reallife weddings
The weather was warm and cloudy with a little rain which prevented them from having their celebrations outside, but they admit, “the planned alternative was very beautiful too”. Their first dance was a highlight of the night for both of them. They were confident and enjoyed dancing together after taking dance lessons leading up to their wedding. They also included a father-daughter dance, with Ame and her dad, and Anthony and his daughter.
“Mid-way through the song, we invited all father-daughters at the wedding to join us” they remember, “it was very special and prompted lots of happy and emotional tears from our guests.”
At the end of the night they also did a bouquet toss – with a twist! It was a ‘men only’ event, and the winner was awarded a bouquet of flowers to present to his wife or partner. This was a lot of fun, they recall, and very memorable for all.
At the conclusion of their reception, they spent their wedding night in a gorgeous private estate in the Southern Highlands, before heading to Port Douglas in Queensland for their honeymoon.
“Our wedding was perfect. It was such a beautiful and happy day for us. We are now also expecting a baby and are very excited about this next chapter for us too!”
Ame & Anthony’s wedding advice:
“You don’t need to start wedding planning immediately. Spend some time enjoying your engagement together first! Talk with your fiancé about your shared and individual priorities for your wedding day. Then focus your planning and spending around these important things.
Remember that your marriage is much more important than your wedding day. It should be a celebration of your love and life together! But I have seen many weddings that feel more like a performance for the guests. Share this experience primarily with your fiancé, communicate and make decisions jointly, compromise together (it’s both of your special days!), learn to talk openly and regularly about money choices, and try not to blow your wedding budget (remember you still need to buy food, pay rent/mortgage, etc, the week after your wedding day too!).
Stay hydrated and remember to eat! It’s a busy day for the bridal couple.”
Alison and Josh met when they were just 16 and 17 years of age, and still at school. It was through social media that they actually got to know each other properly, as they didn’t talk to each other at school. Once they started talking though, it didn’t take long before they became a couple. That was 8 years ago and since then their relationship has gone from strength to strength.
“It was our 6th year together” says Alison, “when Josh planned a romantic picnic on the beach.” The beach he chose was in Forster, NSW, where they had many memories together from their annual family holidays.
At first yearning for a destination wedding, they soon changed their mind after attending a wedding at City Beach Function Centre. Alison says it was “beyond amazing”, and they decided they wanted their reception to be there too!
“We got in touch with the ladies at City Beach, who were so amazing with everything” she recalls, “nothing was ever a problem. It was such smooth sailing because of how organised they were.”
Their wedding date was set for October 2021, but then with COVID lockdowns and restrictions, they decided to move it to February 2022. This gave them ample time to plan their wedding, especially since they had secured their venue in March 2020 – effectively giving them almost two years of wedding planning!
reallife weddings
When their wedding day arrived, it was overcast in the morning but by the afternoon it had cleared up to reveal a beautiful sunny day. Fortunately, it stayed perfect for their outdoor ceremony. The most memorable part of the day for Alison was walking down the aisle to Josh. “All the emotions and loads of anxiety just go away once you see your best friend down the end of that aisle” she remembers.
As their reception got underway, it rained and kept raining for the rest of the night! Inside the venue however, they had created a coastal beach vibe which “felt warm and beautiful” says Alison. “We created this using loads of dried florals, and simple rose colours, whites, and light pinks to break up the neutrals.”
She says they didn’t go overboard with the styling but had enough to make the venue look perfect.
At the end of the night, they stayed in a room overlooking the water at Headlands Hotel in Austinmer.
felt warm and beautiful
Their favourite honeymoon destination would have been Fiji, but due to COVID, they settled for Cairns in Queensland, which was their next best choice. “We stayed at the stunning Riley Crystal Brook which has an amazing pool and was within walking distance of everything” Alison recalls.
Alison’s wedding advice: “Be organised. I felt that I was less stressed because I was so organised. I had people saying why are you doing this and that so early and I am so glad I did what I did because the wedding comes around so fast, and before you know, it is over.”

Looking for friendship, Claire and Frank met online on a website called Zoosk. As their online friendship developed, they decided it was time to meet in real life. Their only barrier was distance, with Claire living in Melbourne, and Frank in Canberra.
“We had our first coffee date in Melbourne and knew we were made for each other straight away” Claire recalls. They ignored the distance barrier and spent their first year flying back and forth on a fortnightly basis. “So crazy” says Claire, “but love, commitment and Tiger Airlines made it work!”
After that year, Frank decided to move to Melbourne, unfortunately it was right before COVID and the lockdowns.
It was during the long COVID lockdown in Melbourne that Frank proposed. He had made a customised book for Claire about all the things he loved about her. And with the most gorgeous ring, popped the question, with the page that read, ‘will you marry me?”
Claire says, “Even though I was sitting on the couch in pjs, it was still the most romantic proposal and it’s all about us, only us!”
reallife weddings
They were very excited to get married and Claire states, “we were on full-on planning mode when we first got engaged in Melbourne.”
This didn’t last though, thanks to the uncertainly surrounding COVID. It forced them to have to reschedule their wedding twice!
In time, they decided to move back to Canberra, and once they started planning again, they found it went smoothly and didn’t take too long at all. By this point though, they both agreed they just wanted to get married, even if it meant a COVID wedding.
While COVID prevented many of their family and friends from physically attending their wedding, it didn’t stop them from virtually attending, thanks to Attnd Live Streaming. While Mel from Mel Hill Photography looked after creating beautiful photos for them, husband Michael made sure their family and friends from afar were able to join them via his Attnd Live Streaming platform.
“We had live streaming to include all our interstate and overseas families and friends” says Claire.
Guests, including Claire’s parents and sister, watched from Taiwan, Italy, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
“A lot of live stream guests dressed up for the day and had a glass of wine to celebrate our special day with us” she remembers, adding that “everyone really enjoyed being part of our day. Some watched the livestream on the tram, and so many cried behind the screens.”

When it arrived, their wedding day was cloudy, but it didn’t rain. Luckily, because Claire hates rain! With only 17 ‘in person’ guests, including Claire’s uncle and aunty who had travelled from Sydney, and their local Canberra guests, Claire and Frank were finally married.
The Chapel at Gold Creek provided the cosy, intimate feel they wanted, and their celebrant, Stephanie Slater provided not only a ceremony, but wedding planning, coordination, cheerleading, therapy and problem solving which they needed in the lead up to their wedding!
“On our wedding day, we were supposed to be nervous, but we weren’t because we knew Steph was there and we were in good hands!” she says. Claire’s hair and makeup providers, Kathryn from KMmakeup, and Mariana from Infinite Hairstyling also received rave reviews from her. “They made me look more beautiful than I am!” she remarks.
In the lead up to their wedding and on the day, Claire and Frank remember how incredible Mel and Michael were. Normally shy with new people, they say they immediately felt at ease with them.
“We felt like we were friends when they took our photos on the day, and we were so comfortable around them.”
Due to their very small wedding, they decided to reschedule their wedding reception and organised a small dinner at 65 Northbourne instead.
“The food, drinks and hospitality were amazing, and portions were very generous too!” Claire says, “the restaurant manager, Peter and the staff, were very excited to have us celebrating our special day with them and they took very good care of us and our guests.”
While they wished there was no COVID, so Claire’s dad could have walked her down the aisle, and their guests could have physically been there with them, they both say they enjoyed every minute of their wedding day. They were also very surprised that 65 online accounts all over Australia and the world joined their Attnd Live Stream ceremony!
At the end of their wedding celebration, they stayed at Hotel Realm, and then enjoyed a three week honeymoon experiencing and taking in the sights of the Gold Coast, Daydream Island, Airlie Beach, Whitehaven Beach, Heart Reef, and Brisbane.
“It was a dream, and also our first holiday since COVID, so we definitely spoilt ourselves.”
Claire’s wedding advice: “Find good vendors and trust them (they have good connections to anything you may be looking for).
Try to be yourself and trust your heart, it is your day (also your fiancé’s day) after all. Know when to take advice from people, and when not to. RELAX and have the most memorable time with your new husband/wife.
If you feel like no one understands your concern or you’re feeling anxious, wedding groups on Facebook are amazing and supportive.”
“Frank, I love doing life with you!!”

PHOTOGRAPHY
Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your wedding. Whoever you choose will be in charge of creating lasting memories of your special day, so take into account the style, special effects and quality of the photographs you would like. Your photography requirements are unique, so it is important to choose a photographer that reflects your personal style and meets your wedding needs.
PHOTOGRAPHY trends
SAME DAY EDITS
Same day edits offer entertainment at your reception for your guests. They will love watching a slideshow of the day!
POPULAR BRIDE SHOTS
As well as the couple’s first look, a first look with the bride’s father is also popular, as are fatherdaughter dances, and amazing veil shots - the longer the better!
EDITING STYLES
Do you like black and white, natural, moody or boho (orange toned) inspired photos?
Subtle differences in editing styles can make a difference to your finished album.
THE FINER DETAILS
Producing memorable photos capturing those finer details. Close ups of the wedding table, flowers, rings etc add extra colour and beauty to a wedding album and can produce highly emotive images despite not having a person in the photo.
NON-TRADITIONAL WEDDING PARTIES
Uneven bridal parties e.g., where the bride may have more bridesmaids than the number of groomsmen. Also popular is the trend where brides might have a “brides man” rather than a “maid” and the same for the groom. Plus animals are becoming more popular, sometimes even replacing the bridal party altogether.
NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PHOTOGRAPHY
Taking advantage of the natural beauty surrounding them, photographers are creating some breathtaking photos for weddings. With these shots, the couple are captured within a setting that shows them to be a small part of a much larger environment. This connection with nature produces powerfully emotive images.
Couples are also taking advantage of Drones to capture stunning aerial shots of them in the Natural Environment from a whole different perspective.
CANDID GUEST CAPTURE
While candid shots of the couple are popular - so too are shots of the guests. Whether they are captured enjoying the wedding ceremony or reception, these candid shots highlight the atmosphere of your special day.

CEREMONY
Your ceremony is the most important part of your wedding day. It’s the moment where you will both express your love and commitment to each other; where your partnership is made legal in the eyes of the law and in the company of your family and friends.
CELEBRANTS
Your wedding Celebrant will be the person binding you and your partner in marriage. They will be there to support you on your special day and bring your family and friends together as they acknowledge and celebrate your love for each other.
Congratulations on your engagement. My name is Kirsten Sachs and I am a married mother of 2 lovely daughters. My journey to become a celebrant has been an exciting one. I chose this path to enable you to have the choice of who, when, why and how you wish to marry. I want to produce the ceremony to re ect you and your occasion, willing to guide you and still be respectful of your wishes. We want to make this a stress free, enjoyable and memorable day, irrespective of the type and size of your wedding or its venue. I am committed to providing the best possible service to you and creating the ceremony you envisioned. Contact me for an obligation free chat.
RINGS & JEWELLERY
The exchange of rings is the most traditional expression of your love for one another. Remember when selecting your engagement or wedding ring, they will be worn for the rest of your life, so think carefully about your investment. Make sure the ring is comfortable to wear and that the metal, style and finish fits your lifestyle and is a perfect reflection of you. When selecting the stone, particularly a diamond, the four most important characteristics to look for are the cut, colour, clarity and carat weight.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
Your health, hair and makeup play an important role in contributing to the overall look for your wedding day. Preparation can start as soon as you’re engaged, as hair and makeup trials, health plans and treatments often take place weeks or even months prior. Take the time to look at various options so you’ll feel happy and confident on the day.
WEDDING STYLING
When it comes to wedding styling, we often put weddings into categories such as rustic, bohemian and vintage to name a few. In reality though, every wedding is unique and these categories are not meant to be rigid, but more a framework to work with and take from it what appeals to you.
Professional wedding stylists can decorate your ceremony right through to your reception in a way that reflects who you are as a couple. They can help you narrow down your wedding ‘look’ and supply you with beautiful decor to suit your style.

CAKES
Your wedding dress, your chosen venue, your stationery, your transport; all of these things combine to communicate the style of your wedding. The same goes for your wedding cake. A work of art, it proudly sits atop it’s pedestal revealing your unique wedding style to guests as they arrive at your reception.
As well as looking amazing, your wedding cake should taste exceptional, so if possible make an appointment to sample a few different flavours to find that perfect blend.
FLOWERS
Flowers offer an instant splash of beauty and colour to your wedding day.
Used in bouquets, headpieces, table centrepieces, cakes, arbours, backdrops and boutonnieres, they play an important role in adding the final touches to create the perfect look for your wedding.
TIPS ON SELECTING YOUR FLOWERS
Decide on the colour theme for your wedding before choosing your flowers.
Check on the availability of your preferred flowersare they in season at the time of your wedding?
Ensure that the flowers you’ve selected will last in the weather conditions.
Think about how you will carry your bouquet - make sure it will be easy to handle.
Book an appointment with your florist to discuss your ideas.
VIDEOGRAPHY
Your wedding video will be the most detailed reminder of your wedding day. Most couples find it an amazing experience to look back after a few years and re-live the big day. Video captures many small things that most people forget, or don’t even see on the wedding day. Most brides and grooms spend months of planning for their special day, making sure every single little detail is perfect. Then on the day, they are usually too busy to take it all in! The day goes so fast and before you know it, it’s time to leave the reception with your new spouse.
If you had a videographer though, the highlights, the things that made you laugh, the things you didn’t even see on the day, your friends and family celebrating with you, your vows, the toasts, plus all of the little things that came together so well on the day, can be watched later and relived as often as you please.
Plus if you have close family that can’t make it to your wedding, what nicer way than to surprise them with highlights of your wedding so they can share your experience.
While your photographer will take those all important photos for your wedding album, your videographer will be capturing everything in between.
