His back ground is in electronic engineering, Product development, Business management, Coaching, presenting and delivering high quality products which work.

company first as an engineer and then progressing to Senior Business Manager developing and launching a range of Computer based products in Japan, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada and the USA.
For the past 20+ years he has been building and managing his own businesses all designed to help business owners achieve greater returns from their efforts using the very latest skills and technology.
What is Your Brand? The word brand or branding has been around for many years.
It is the term for identifying a person, product, business or a website perhaps all of these.
In this day and age everyone who is determined to be successful needs their own Brand, it really does not matter whether you are setting up in business or looking to secure a very good job in someone else’s business or planning to take on the role of a Director or other Executive in a Corporation or Company.
With the age of the Internet everyone is using it as tool to find what they are searching for, if you want to be found then you need to stand out when someone does a search on Google or any other search engine.

Not only do you need a really good website to promote yourself and what you do, you need to also use Social Media like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to name just three so when people search for what you have to offer they will find you ahead of your competitors.
Creating your own powerful Brand will enable you to stand out from the crowd, demonstrate your ability to promote yourself, your products and/or services.

cattle has been around for a long time with the Brand mark showing ownership.
Some Brands become so powerful they have even taken the place of the correct description of the product, take Hoover for example, for many years the Vacuum cleaner has been referred to as the Hoover because the Brand was so strong.
So whether you have a product, service or wish to create yourself or your business as a Brand, if you do the job of Branding very well you can become the dominant force in your market place.
Recent Branding examples. Some Brands have been and gone and new ones have emerged, probably one of the most successful Brands of modern times is MacDonald’s, they have dominated the world not so much because of the foods they sell. Mainly due to the Brand they have created and the power of marketing the Brand.
Virgin Airlines or Virgin Atlantic is another very good example of the power of Branding, in this case they have stole the lime light from British Airways through creating a strong Brand and then delivering a standard of service and reputation to match the Brand, in this case they also created a figure head to the Brand through Sir Richard Branson making the whole image even stronger.

Sir Richard is now treated as a celebrity by many people as I witnessed at a recent event where people were reaching out to touch his hand, hoping I am sure that his touch would help them be as successful in their own endeavours.
Another good example of a Brand is Google, often talked about as the only search engine even though there are many including Yahoo and Bing. Staying with the online theme of course we have Facebook and Twitter plus many others all battling to share a huge online market place.
In every case they have invested serious money in creating a Brand which people will instantly recognise.
Why Create Your Brand? This is such an important question and one you must ask yourself.
I did give some clues earlier in this document and when you look at all successful people and Companies you will find them operating under some form of Branding.
The cattle example is one of the best examples of Branding, each cow can easily be identified as belonging to a specific ranch because of its Brand.

you do by your Brand. Assuming your Brand means quality and good value for money then they will search for you or your products amongst the crowd and return time and time again.
Creating your own Brand means you will stand out in the crowd, as I write this content the world is going through the most difficult financial period since the 1930’s, people are struggling to keep their jobs and businesses are making it much harder for people to acquire the best positions.
If you are setting up your own business then you need to stand out in the crowd and make it as easy as possible for people to choose what ever it is you are offering them.
By creating a strong image or Brand and dominating the market place with your Brand you stand a much better chance than your competition in securing the business or job/position you are seeking.
It really does not matter what you do or plan to do, there will always be someone else trying to secure what ever it is you are trying to secure. This means you need to stand out in the crowd and ensure people know why they should pick you.

So whether you need more Customers or Clients or want the job or position within an organisation or have another reason for standing out in the crowd, you need to make the investment and create your own Brand.
The Power of the Internet. Technology has enabled virtually anyone to be able to access the Internet, not just from their PC or laptop, with modern smart phones using 3 & 4G people can go online and search for anything they want almost anywhere they may be.
When looking for a product, services or an expert in any market niche, just typing in a few words instantly brings up a range of options for them to choose from.
The Internet also adds another dimension, in the mid to late 1900’s people’s and businesses credibility was established by looking in Yellow Pages and other offline directories, now the only place most people look is online.
Just imagine if someone recommended you to a friend or colleague, the first thing most people in business do these days is to Google you to see what is being said about you.

Of course for those with a strong online presence or Brand the viewer will quickly see how well known they are, assuming they have created a strong online Brand.
Just imagine if you dominated the search engines when your Brand was searched for, do you think people would be impressed, of course they would.
In the Yellow Pages day, to gain a good image you just paid for a bigger Ad compared to your competitors, this does not work quite the same online, to gain the advantage and dominate online you need to take a number of different actions to ensure you stand the best chance.
Website Yes you need a Website which tells people what you do, this site needs to be kept up to date with quality information so you meet the strict requirements of the search engines and stand the best chance of being ranked on the first page of Google etc for your Brand.
There are many aspects to consider when creating a Website for your Brand to ensure the site performs to the highest level and always features on the first page. Creating the “Know-Like-Trust” Factor Hopefully you will already have this message from the last heading, get known for what you do and do well, be careful some people get known for what they promise and then fail to deliver.
People Like people who promise something and then deliver it, they Like people more if they over deliver. Just remember this point, people will pay more if you deliver more. The secret is to over deliver and under charge, I am not saying give it away, people will pay good money for your products and services and will buy again if you give them more than they expected.
Trust comes from delivering and delivering on time. It also comes from delivering more than you promised. Trust has to be earned, never ever assume you have someone’s trust until they tell you they Trust you.
