Mindset of A Winner Questionnaire
Winning Mindset Questionnaire. Introduction. It is very difficult to create something different unless you know what it is like now.
This questionnaire is designed to help you establish your current Tennis mindset in preparation for the process of changing it to a Winning mindset.
As described in month one a mindset is a serious of programs you have established in your brain over your life time. Your Tennis mindset will consist of a serious of programs you have developed while playing Tennis and watching other people play the game.
You will also have certain programs which have been created in your mind from other activities which will also play a part in developing your mindset with respect to winning.
As I have said the mind is a very complex computer system which stores everything.

For example if you enjoy winning then your mind will have a very strong program around winning and some people may consider you to be very competitive. This is good as long as all the other relevant programs fit with this winning program.
Sometimes it is possible to have a very strong program which is limited by other programs you have created over time.
For example if you are very competitive and find yourself on the losing side often you may have created a program which makes you very angry when you lose. The end result is often shown by hitting the racket on the ground or wall or shouting out to release the frustration.
The objective of this questionnaire is to help you understand how you react and the thoughts which go through your mind under different playing conditions.
I would like you to also note the feelings you have as well as the thoughts as these also create programs within your mind which will either improve your play or hold you back.
I know that it will not be easy for you to stop playing to write your thoughts and feelings down, so I suggest you focus on two or three areas of your game and note your thoughts and feelings for these for each practice session or match you are going to play.

Mindset of A Winner Questionnaire
The more you understand about yourself now the easier it will be to reprogram your mind to achieve the best result in the fastest period of time.
The best place to start is when you are practicing, remember it is usually easier to play well in practice as you do not usually have the pressure of a competitor making shot selection and accuracy of play much easier to do.
Also remember that when you are practicing you are programming your mind which means it is important you play the shot in the best possible way so your mind stores the right information ready for match play.
Before I start listing the areas you need to consider let me just remind you what is required.
There are three internal processes you need to take note of:
1. What thoughts you have when carrying out each of the following activities. 2. What feelings you have for each item. 3. What conversations do you have in your head for each item?

Mindset of A Winner Questionnaire
Questionnaire. Note your thoughts, feelings and internal conversations for each of the following situations.
When getting ready to go to your Club to play. When you are traveling to the Club. When you arrive and are waiting to go on court. As you warm up ready to play. As you start to practice with your coach/without your coach. What thoughts do you have about the opposition when playing a match. As you start to play a match. When you play a good shot. When you play a poor shot. When the ball goes where you want it to. Where the ball goes out. Where the ball hits the net. When you miss or miss hit the ball. When you do a good serve. When you hit the net on serve. When you double fault on serve. When you win a point, game, set and match. When you lose a point, game, set and match. There are quite a lot of different situations here, that is why tennis is harder than it first looks. Copyright www.SeansTennisAcademy.com

Study each of these areas carefully and begin to understand your mindset for each situation.
As you begin to build up the picture you will start to learn more about you and how the thoughts, feelings and conversations affect your play.
As I have said before we are going to work together to help you not only understand your mindset, we will work together so you learn how to create the mindset of a winner.
I have absolutely no doubt just doing this exercise will open your eyes to how your mind reacts when various activities take place.
Once you have a better understanding of how you think, feel and react now, you will quickly see the power of training the mind to achieve the results you want to achieve.
So make sure you pick two or three items from the list above and then monitor your response the next time you are on court. Then take another two or three from the list and do the same.
Creating a Winning Mindset takes a little time, but the end result is really worth it.
