Dear Member: Happy New Year! As you read this, we are a little under 60 days from March (and, hopefully, warmer golf days). I am excited for 2017, and I know you are as well. 2016 was a year of course and clubhouse projects, which have only served to enhanced the beauty of our great club. Now the projects are complete and our golf staff is looking forward to making 2017 all about golf. The Celebrity Member Guest Committee has already begun planning for the 2017 tournament. It looks to be a Masterful event. The Committee will be hosting a sign up party on February 18th. Hillcrest will be mailing information regarding how to enter your team for the lottery drawing. Please look for the mailer in January or see the club’s website for more information. www.hillcrestcountryclub.com Ladies’ Golf Association Chairperson, Ashley Tenopir, and her committee have met this fall and winter to prepare the Ladies’ calendar of events and tournaments. A new offering this summer will be a monthly 9-hole Stagette, May-August. The golf shop will have a formatted net team event and a lite dinner will be served following golf. Prizes will be announced at dinner. Our plan is to schedule a couple golf apparel “Trunk Shows” for you post golf enjoyment. Players will receive special pricing if they place an order that evening. Guest are encouraged and welcome to attend. Look for this and many other great ladies golf offerings in the event page on the website. The Men’s Golf League on Thursday nights will have new feel and format with (two) 6 week sessions and a new single player format. Sign up for Men’s League will begin in March. Our popular Eliminator (Team Better-Ball Bracket Challenge) returns as well. Sign up will begin February 1st and first round play begins on April 21st. Our Player Development Staff coordinated by Jerad Palmer will be offering many great programs this season, so you can play and enjoy more golf. If you haven’t been playing much in recent years, “Get Golf Ready” with our “3-6-9” Evening Clinic for men and women looking to return to the game and play more golf. Additionally you could sign up for our Cleveland Short Game Clinic. Not only will you improve your shot making around the greens but you will get to select a new Cleveland Wedge as part of the clinic package. All these great programs along with Women’s 101 Clinics, Junior Golf Program and Equipment Demo & Fitting Days will help you get your game in shape for a summer of fun. On behalf of the golf staff, best wishes for a Happy 2017. Best in Golf,

Mike Brown – Director of Golf

Congratulations Jerad Palmer! The Hillcrest Board of Directors has promoted Jerad Palmer to PGA Head Professional. Jerad is beginning his fourth season at Hillcrest and has done a wonderful job with our junior golf and as assistant professional for Mike in the golf shop. As Head Professional, Jerad’s main focus will be on player development. Our junior golf program will continue to be at the heart of player development at Hillcrest. But in addition, adult members will be offered programs designed to strengthen the participation of our core golfers and enhance the golf skills and enjoyment of our occasional golfers. Plus, there will also be offerings connecting our beginner or lapsed golfers with fun and non-traditional instruction and formats. Enjoying more golf is what it is all about. Mike, Jerad and Charlie along with our PGM interns are looking forward to helping you with your golf games in 2017. For more information about all our golf instructional programs please contact: Jpalmer@hillcrestcountclub.com or call 402.489.8181
