Ná die omstredenheid wat die 2014-2018 waardasierol vir die Makhado munisipaliteit gekenmerk het, sou mens verwag dat daar met meer omsigtigheid te werk gegaan word met die opstel van ‘n nuwe rol. Dit blyk egter dat daar soortgelyks baie vrae en min antwoorde oor die 2018-2023 waardasierol is.

Die nuwe waardasierol, wat op 1 Julie in werking getree het, is opgestel deur Geospatial Valuation Technologies vanaf Port Elizabeth nadat die Makhado Munisipaliteit die amper R10 miljoen tender aan hulle toegestaan het. Die rol is voltooi en toe aan die publiek beskikbaar gestel vir inspeksie, kommentaar en besware met ‘n sluitingsdatum van 4 Mei. Dit was juis in hierdie stadium wat inwoners ernstig begin kopkrap het oor presies wie hiérdie Port Elizabethse maatskappy is wat die waardasies gedoen het? Een plaaslike eiendomskenner, me.

Gwen Loots van Realty 1, het haar openlik uitgespreek teenoor die munisipaliteit se besluit om die tender aan ‘n “buitestander” toe te ken. “Ek stem nie saam met meeste van hulle waardasies nie …

In my opinie is die gebruik van waardeerders van ander dorp ‘n fatale oefening en ‘n geldmors …” het Loots gesê.

Loots se reaksie was geskoei op eiendom binne die dorpsgebied. Die grootste skok het egter vir eienaars van landbougrond gewag. Me. Erika Helm van die TLU SA het in ‘n verklaring uitgevaar teen die maatskappy wat die waardasierol opgestel het.

Sy kon ook nie sin maak van hoe die waardeerders by plase se eiendomswaardes uitgekom het nie. In baie gevalle is grondwaardes summier met tussen 100% en 300% verhoog. In ‘n gevallestudie wat die Zoutpansberger gedoen het, is bevind dat een boer se plase (gesamentlik 8 444ha), wat volgens die 2014/18 waardasierol vir net onder die R38 miljoen gewaardeer is, skielik volgens die 2018/23 waardasierol nou vir net onder die R71 miljoen

gewaardeer is. “Sjoe, teen daardie waardasie kan ek nou maar aftree … Ek is selfs bereid om al my grond teen daardie prys aan die Staat te verkoop, met afslag!” het die boer opgemerk.

Boere wat soortgelyks ongelukkig was met die buitensporige waardasies op hulle plase kon toe beswaar aanteken om hul waardasie te wysig na meer realistiese en markverwante prys. Een van hierdie boere was mnr. Doors le Roux. Le Roux besit ses stuks grond as deel van die plaas Welgevonden op die Thohoyandou-pad.

Groot was Le Roux se ontnugtering toe hy sien dat die Port Elizabethse waardeerders na sy beswaar al sy eiendom vir bykans 80% meer gaan waardeer het. “Dit is absoluut bog!” het Le Roux gesê.

Gedeelte 34 van die plaas is in 2014 vir R438 000 gewaardeer en verhoog na R680 000 gedurende die 2015 aanvullende waardasierol.

In 2018 is dieselfde eiendom se prys met 230% verhoog na R2 250 000 en nadat Le Roux beswaar aangeteken het, is sy eiendom herwaardeer vir R4 048 183 (495,32% verhoging vanaf 2015). Dieselfde was die geval op sy ander eiendom. Gedeelte 22 is in 2014 vir R201 000 gewaardeer, opgeskuif na R310 000 in 2015, toe vir R1 050 000 in 2018 waardeer en weer herwaardeer vir R1 850 000 (496,77% verhoging vanaf 2015). Gedeelte 25 is in 2014 vir R421 000 gewaardeer, verhoog na R650 000 in 2015 en gewaardeer vir R2 150 000 in 2018.

Dit is toe herwaardeer vir R3 883 000 (497,38% op van 2015) nadat Le Roux gekla het. Gedeelte 20 van die plaas is in 2014 vir R407 000 gewaardeer, verhoog na R760 000 in 2015 en vir R2 100 000 gewaardeer in 2018, waarna die eiendom herwaardeer is R3 754 000 (393,95% op vanaf 2015).

Gedeelte 26 is in 2014 vir R393 000 waardeer, opgeskuif na R900 000 in 2015 en toe gewaardeer vir R2 050 000 in 2018. Toe Le Roux daaroor kla, is sy eiendom herwaardeer vir R3 632 000 (303,56% op van 2015). Die laaste eiendom, Gedeelte 35, is in 2014 vir R409 000 gewaardeer, opgeskuif na

R800 000 in 2015 en vir R2 100 000 gewaardeer in 2018. Ná beswaar aangeteken is, is die eiendom vir R3 775 000 (371,88% op van 2015) waardeer.

Volgens Geospatial Valuation Technologies se nuwe waardasies is Le Roux se grond deur die bank sowat R41 500 per hektaar werd. “Die plase bestaan meestal uit styl berghange waar beeste nie eens kan loop nie. Ek weet nie hoe hulle by hulle waardasies uitgekom het nie,” het Le Roux gesê.

Geospatial Valuation Technologies het op ‘n vraag oor die waardasiemetodologie in Maart vanjaar gesê dat hulle fisies elke eiendom wat hulle waardeer het, besoek het, alhoewel ‘n fisiese besoek nie volgens wet verpligtend is nie. In gevalle, het die maatskappy gesê, mag hulle gebruik maak van vergelykende, analitiese en ander sisteme soos lugfotografie om eiendomme te waardeer.

Na herhaaldelike versoek om per e-pos terug te antwoord, het die Zoutpansberger op Vrydag, 6 Julie, ‘n oproep ontvang van Geospatial Valuation Technolgies se mnr. Clyde Lawrence.

Lawrence het aangedui dat hulle nie kommentaar gaan lewer nie, omdat die kwessie nou sub judice is. “Die klaer moet maar appèl aanteken,” is al wat Lawrence gesê het. Aangesien die term sub judice ‘n regsterm is met betrekking tot hofsake is Lawrence gevra of hulle maatskappy dan nou weliswaar in ‘n hofgeding betrokke is oor die waardasie rol?

Geen kommentaar hieroor is ontvang nie.

Munisipale woordvoerder mnr. Louis Bobodi is ook gevra vir kommentaar wat betref die nuwe waardasierol. Volgens hom was daar egter nie baie klagtes nie. “In vergelyking met vorige waardasierolle het ons nie baie klagte ontvang nie. Klagtes was meestal van huiseienaar en ‘n minimale getal klagtes van plaaseienaars,” het Bobodi gesê.

m vir die mensdom se sonde te sterf moes die Here Jesus Hom oorgee tot die mees gevreesde, gewelddadige, pynlike, skandelike, en bo alles, die gruwelikste vloekdood (Gal.3:13). Die enigste dood wat ons kan red van die vloek wat op God se gebroke wet rus, was Sy vloekdood aan die kruis (Gal.3:10). Hierdie dood van die kruis is vandag nog God se antwoord vir die mens se grootste probleem, die sonde.

Jesus se kruisdood is die oplossing vir al die mens se probleme, vrese en bekommernis, as hulle toelaat dat dit hulle van hul “oue mens” met sy lelike voorkoms en gemene eienskappe bevry.

Elke mens se keuse is in werklikheid net tussen twee maniere van dood, of die dood van die kruis vir verlossing van sonde, of die veel meer skrikwekkende dood wat volg op sonde, die ewige dood. Die goeie nuus is dat die dood vir sonde reeds afgehandel is. Al wat jy moet doen is om dit te weet, dit in die geloof te aanvaar en uit te lewe deur die genade van God. Die kruis is die enigste plek waar ons oue mens se doodsvonnis deeglik voltrek kan word ( 2 Korintiërs 5:14,15 ).

Vir iemand wat tot die dood toe moeg is vir al die lelike koppe van die sonde-monster, is die dood van die kruis nie ‘n verskrikking nie, eerder ‘n soete verlossing.

Jesus het deur Sy sterwe aan die kruis, die heel laaste en noodsaaklike stap geneem.

Dit was tot by elke verlore uitverkorene (2 Kor.5:21). Omdat Jesus Christus vir ons “sonde gemaak” is, ‘n vervloekte geword het, kan ons inderdaad van die slawerny van sonde verlos word.

Double murderer says State owes him for extra five years spent behind bars

A convicted double murderer is planning to sue the State for compensation, claiming that he was wrongfully incarcerated for an extra five years on top of his original 20-year life sentence.

The now 57-year-old Mr Reuben Mashudu Netshiavha from Makhado saw the outside of a prison for the first time after 25 years on 5 March this year. He was convicted on two counts of murder and one of assault at the young age of 32 by the High Court in Johannesburg and sentenced to life imprisonment. He started serving his 20-year sentence on 18 March 1993.

At face value, many readers might ask what exactly Netshiavha’s defence is going to be, seeing that a life sentence constitutes 25 years behind bars.

There might also be those who firmly believe that a life sentence should mean just that: Spending the rest of your life in a prison cell. The South African justice system, however, makes provision that even a person who received a life sentence can be set free when a certain number of years had been served.

This argument forms the basis of Netshiavha’s planned claim against the State.

As a young man, Netshiavha was no angel. “To my mind you deserve the death sentence, but in all the circumstances of this case I just cannot say that that would be the only appropriate sentence.

You have proved yourself to be an utter enemy of society,” said then Judge Schabort in his sentencing remarks. Netshiavha himself admits that he had made a mistake when he killed his father-in-law and the father-in-law’s 16-year-old son, while almost killing his consort in a fit of rage. “But I served my time,” said Netshiavha.

The dilemma came when authorities had to decide how much time Netshiavha should serve.

He was originally sentenced to life under Act 8 of 1959 of the Correctional Service Act which, at the time, stated that a sentence of life constituted a 20-year prison term.

Netshiavha, however, ended up serving 25 years, after legislation changed and Act 8 of 1959 was replaced by Act 111 of 1998. In a nutshell, Act 111 of 1998 increased the old 20-year life sentence to 25 years, meaning that all inmates receiving life sentence after 1 October 2004 may not be placed on day parole after serving at least 25 years of their sentences. All inmates sentence before 1 October 2004 would serve out their life sentences under Act 8 of 1959. In short, Netshiavha was only to serve 20 years.

In an interview with the Zoutpansberger, Netshiavha described his long battle with authorities, first to have him released on day parole and later just to be released as he had already exceeded his original sentence.

It all started with the Pretoria High Court ruling in favour of convicted murderer Cornelius Johannes van Wyk on 26 November 2012. Van Wyk took the minister of Correctional Services to court, arguing

I knew that what they were doing was not right,” said Netshiavha.

Being able to now read and write, Netshiavha started his own paper battle against the prison system, a system which saw him starting the serve his sentence at C Max in Pretoria, being transferred to Matatshe Prison (Thohoyandou) in November 1996, then being transferred to the Kutama Sinthumule Maximum Security Prison in February 2002, only to be transferred back to Matatshe in April 2015.

Netshiavha kept detailed accounts of all his correspondence, including all his applications for parole. All went unheard. “I first applied for parole in 2009 … I think the parole board never exercised their duty in a good manner,” said Netshiavha.

Netshiavha was finally released in March this year, only after he wrote to the Minister of Correctional Services in January. “I took a chance and wrote a letter stating that my attorney indicated that I must be released immediately because I exceeded my sentence. Almost immediately I was called in and informed that the Minister ordered my release,” said Netshiavha.

“I should have been released five years ago.

My victims’ family members had forgiven me, because my children were suffering. They (the prison authorities) could give me no explanation as to why they kept me for an extra five years,” said Netshiavha.

He has since acquired the assistance of a local attorney, Mr Hennie Erwee from Musina, who undertook to start legal proceedings against the State for compensation. “It would seem that my client indeed has a good chance of success in court ... I will leave no stone unturned to take action against all parties involved who violated my clients’ human rights,” said Erwee.

that as he was convicted under Act 8 of 1959, he was eligible for parole after serving 13 years and four months of his 20-year sentence.

The older residents of the Soutpansberg might remember Van Wyk as the man convicted for his role in the brutal murder of three people on 14 October 1991 in what was to become known as the Roux murders. Van Wyk and Matthew White killed Mrs Maria Roux and two of her farm workers, Mr Wilson Dobani and Ms Makwarela Dobani, on a farm just outside of Louis Trichardt while in search of firearms for an extreme right-wing movement called the National Socialist Partisans (NSP).

White, and another member of the NSP Jurgens Grobler, died following a shoot-out with police a couple of weeks after the murders near Noenieput in the Kalahari.

Van Wyk was convicted on 11 charges including three counts of murder for which he received three life sentences on 5 September 1994.

“This man [Van Wyk] was the man who fought for all prisoners who were sentenced under Act 8 of 1959. I was with him in C Max,” said Netshiavha.

On 26 November 2012, the Pretoria High Court ruled that Van Wyk must be placed on day parole as from 1 January 2013.

Netshiavha also base his argument for compensation on the successful court case by yet another prisoner, Paul van Vuuren. Van Vuuren was convicted of, among others, murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. He was sentenced to death on 13 November 1992, but his death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment on 20 September 2000.

In both Van Wyk and Van Vuuren’s cases (2010) against the State, the court ruled in their favour, stating that all inmates sentenced to life before 1 October 2004 would be dealt with under Act 8 of 1959 and that they would not only have to serve 20 years, but that they were also eligible for parole after only serving 13 years and four months of their 20-year sentence.

Netshiavha said that following Van Wyk and Van Vuuren’s successful court cases, his name was one of the 209 names which appeared in several daily newspaper in April 2011 whereby the then Minister of Correctional Services, Ms Mapisa-Nqakula, called for victim participation in the parole consideration of offenders, especially offenders sentenced to life before 1 March 1994.

“My name was there, number 131. From Limpopo, we were 12 or 14. All were released except me,” said Netshiavha.

According to Netshiavha, he should have been released in March 2013. “I do not know why they didn’t release me ... I once asked them and was told that they could not find my file,” said Netshiavha.

When Netshiavha went to jail, he could not read or write. “I wanted to create a better future for myself. I started school from ABED (Adult Basic Education) level 1 until I passed Grade 12 … So, when I was at school in prison, I did law subjects.

She received the TW Kambule-NSTF Award for the best Emerging Researcher during the recent National Science and Technology (NSTF) awards.

The NSTF-South32 Awards gala dinner took place in Gauteng on 28 June to celebrate the most outstanding contributions to science, engineering and technology (SET), and innovation. This is the 20th anniversary celebration of the awards, which are the largest SET and innovation awards in South Africa. They are known as the ‘Science Oscars’ and this year were presented by the Minister of Science and Technology, Ms Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, who is the event’s patron.

Wendy scooped the prestigious award for her work in establishing and running the EWT’s Wildlife and Roads Project, which aims to reduce the negative impacts of transport infrastructure on wildlife, and ultimately improve driver safety through a reduction in wildlife-vehicle-collisions (WVCs).

Problems with SASSA payouts leave many in distress

Mr Roy Saunders was one of many Louis Trichardt pensioners who had a nasty surprise when he tried to draw his pension on Saturday.

“I always draw my pension on the 30th of each month,” he said. “By that time everything has run out, and so I really need the money.” He had made sure that he collected his new South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) card in good time and wasn’t expecting any problems getting his money.

“When I tried the ATM, I could not draw anything,” he said. “The slips said either that there were insufficient funds or that I’d entered the incorrect pin number. When I spoke to SASSA, they told me that my R1710 had not been drawn and that I should be able to access it. I was then directed to the post office, where once again I couldn’t draw any of my money. I tried my old card, as well as the new one at that point. The Postmaster told me that the money

had not been drawn, but that I would have to wait another week to get it until they had a response from their Bloemfontein office, because somehow their records showed that it had been drawn.”

Saunders was more concerned about those pensioners who lived out of town or had difficulty with mobility. “At least I have these two feet and can walk down to the post office or bank as often as I have to,” he said. “What about those who can’t?

Or those who can’t afford transport into town?

Pensioners tend to survive from month to month.

Having to wait for extra weeks or even days like this is a disaster.”

In concluding a media release on 6 July, Acting CEO of SASSA, Mr Abraham Mahlangu, said: “Social security is a right enshrined in the South African Constitution and all parties involved should work together to ensure that this right is not violated. For its part, SASSA will continue raising the bar to ensure that beneficiaries get the quality service they deserve. We wish to also apologise sincerely to the affected beneficiaries and commit that these problems will not recur in future.”

Beneficiaries who encounter any problems are invited to contact SASSA’s toll free line on 0800 60 10 11 or inbox SASSA on social media. In extreme cases, SASSA will provide social relief of distress in the form of food parcels to anybody encountering problems with accessing their grants.

“For most of those who can’t draw their pensions now,” said Saunders, “This is definitely an extreme problem. I’m very fortunate and blessed to receive weekly food parcels from the lovely folk at Agape Church with the assistance of Woolworths. Most people don’t get this. I’m sure that some of them have nothing to eat.”

In the 6 July media release, SASSA stated that they had “experienced problems in paying a portion of its beneficiaries since 1 July 2018. SASSA pays over 12 million beneficiaries per month and about 700 000 of them use the new SASSA card. These 700 000 beneficiaries could not draw their money at some of the banking infrastructure in the country, notwithstanding the fact that SASSA had already deposited funds into their accounts.”

Last week amid reports of pensioners having difficulty in drawing their pensions, the Democratic Alliance said on Tuesday that: “It was concerned by reports from social grant beneficiaries across the country of systems glitches which had resulted in many of them failing to cash their monthly pay-outs.” They continued: “SASSA and the South African Post Office (SAPO), which had been appointed preferred payment channel for all social grants, appeared to have been ill-prepared for the changes to the payment system which came into effect on 1 July.”

SASSA’s release further said that beneficiaries “don’t have to necessarily collect their grants on the first day of the month, and that they don’t have to queue in the early hours of the morning at post offices because their money will be available at any

hour of the day.” They said that as at the moment, 72% of the R1 billion due to be paid for July had been made, and that “the remaining 28% are mainly people who don’t rush to withdraw their money on the first week of the month and they won’t have any problems withdrawing their money.”

Mrs Kittie de Bruin, manager of Our Home old age home said: “Several of our residents have experienced difficulties, but the situation seems to be very slowly righting itself now, with some pensioners finding that they were able to draw their pensions using their old cards.”

When Zoutpansberger contacted Mr Netshifefe (SASSA Makhado manager) for comment, he suggested that pensioners with problems should go to the SASSA offices in town once again if they were unable to draw their money.

The notorious Songozwi- and Grobler Street junction in Louis Trichardt claimed yet more victims. Op 20 Oktober 1894 het die oostelike en westelike dele van die lyn bymekaar aangesluit by Balmoral op die plaas Elandsfontein, sowat 90 kilometer vanaf Pretoria. President Paul Kruger het spesiaal op 2 November 1894 na Wilgerivier gereis om die laaste bout in die spoorlyn te draai.

On Sunday, 15 July, a number of wreaths will be laid at the MOTHs Turbi Hills Shellhole in Louis Trichardt to commemorate the battle of Delville Wood and to pay tribute to the South African soldiers who lost their lives during this battle.

The Battle of the Somme occurred between 1 July and 18 November 1916 and is described as one of the bloodiest battles in human history.

More than one million men were wounded or killed on the banks of the river Somme in France.

Among the soldiers killed and injured were more than 2400 South Africans who fought for control over a small piece of land in the northeast of France, called Delville Wood. The ceremony at Turbi Hills Shellhole at 66 Burger Street will start at 10:30 for 11:00. Do not fall for friendly farmer’s tricks again

Scam artists regularly target Louis Trichardt with very similar scenarios, and while those who have heard about these rip-off artists before might see it coming, the latest potential victims would like to share their modus operandi with those who haven’t.

Last year, the Zoutpansberger reported two cases of residents having been fleeced of their money by these heartless thugs. In February 2017, Mrs Kittie de Bruin lost R275 when she purchased airtime for “Johan Botha”, a wonderful sounding, humanitarian farmer who wanted to donate quite a lot of meat to the old age home. “He really sounded like someone who genuinely cared for the elderly the way he spoke,” she said. “You can’t just refuse such an offer for an institution such as Ons Tuiste.”

A scamster struck again in July 2017 in the form of “Boet Rousseau”, who with a very similar tale of wanting to do good and donate a large amount of beef to Laerskool Louis Trichardt, managed to extort a further R275 in airtime vouchers from Mr Louis Linde, the headmaster. While he had sent a vehicle to collect the meat as instructed, “Boet” phoned back with a request for airtime because his “wife” had almost finished theirs. “We sent it,” said Mrs Elsje Linde. “The man was so kind to give the school meat.”

Once again these crooks are trying their dirty tricks.

Mrs Erika Grobler and Mrs Karen Smit informed us that these scammers are at work in town once again. Erika received a call on her cell phone early on Thursday last week from a man who introduced himself as “Doctor Bertie Malan”. He said that he was the owner of the farm Sterkfontein No 709, 17 km outside of Louis Trichardt. He said that there was a problem with his cold room on the farm, and that he had a half a sheep and a whole beef carcass that he wanted to give away, preferably to be distributed to people in need, before it went rotten. He insisted that she send someone to collect it as quickly as possible. Erika smelled a rat and gave his number to Karen to try and call. Someone called Wimpie replied.

It didn’t take long before “Doctor Bertie” asked if she wouldn’t mind purchasing four R275 Vodacom airtime vouchers and SMS the pin numbers to him, because “Tannie Estie”, his wife, had run out of airtime. At this point the ladies were aware that these people were trying to scam them, so Karen decided to try and find out more. Karen suggested that “Tannie Estie” could be using a little too much airtime and asked why so much was needed. As the calls went back and forth he angrily informed Erika that he had R163 000 worth of products that he needed to get to town to poor people, and that she was getting in the way of his doing that properly. Mainly he really needed to get the airtime

Follow our jailbirds weekly in the newspaper and on our Facebook page,” invite the management of the local SPCA. The Jailed & Bailed fundraiser will take place from 10:00 until 13:00. Delicious food and sweets will be on sale, as well as the local SPCA’s whole range of merchandise. “You will get to see the jailbirds sweat it out in the kennels while they wait to be bailed out. Karen’s Catering and My Sweetopia in Louis Trichardt are run by Karen Smit and Erika Grobler for a seamless mix of savoury and sweet eating.

They’ve been situated in their new premises in Krogh Street since April and offer more than catering for away functions pretty much anywhere in the province. They have a function room on the premises, as well as two very reasonable and well-appointed rooms for overnight accommodation that can include breakfasts or not.

While Karen concentrates on all things savoury and on catering events, Erika is a hugely gifted baker and sweet maker, and creates designer and novelty custom cakes for all possible

occasions to order, as well as for the shop.

In the coffee shop on site you can buy anything from light meals to decadent cakes to enjoy right there while the little ones play in the small play area close enough for you to watch them safely while you indulge.

They have a huge range of frozen items for you to simply take home and heat, as well as a fridge full of other quick and tasty items such as sausage rolls, muffins, melktert, and a huge variety of home baked goods. All items on the menu are available as takeaways.

The shop is open every day from 09:00 until 16:00. “Pop in for a fine meal, a naughty nibble, or to arrange for professional catering services,” invited Karen and Erika.

Rugby Club getting ready for final round of local clashes Rugby News

The Louis Trichardt Rugby Club asked local supporters to make a mental note of their next home game on 21 July.

This weekend, the club is playing away games against the University of Limpopo.

The club’s next local clash would be against Univen on 21 July, followed by the last local game for the season against Letaba on 28 July. The last game will be an historic one as it

will be the last game to played on the club’s old rugby fields before the club relocates to its new premises further down the Thohoyandou road.

“We ask everyone to come and support the town’s players. The team are doing well in the Boet Fick league and the matches on 28 July promises to bring a fitting end to the local rugby club’s illustrious past before moving,” said the club management.

Die Soutpansberg Gholfklub sal hierdie jaar poog om die gesogte Hanglip 54-trofee terug te wen en op eie bodem te hou, nadat dit verlede jaar deur besoekers Hennie Anderson en Piet Chauke gedeel is. Dit was die eerste keer in die geskiedenis van die kompetisie dat die trofee as algehele wenner

gedeel is. Anderson, een van die Klerksdorp-manne, sal vanjaar weer afslaan om sy titel te verdedig. Chauke speel nie hierdie jaar nie.

Die Hanglip 54 se hoofborge hierdie jaar is die Makhado Munisipaliteit en PJ Timbers. Oudergewoonte het die toernooi Woensdagaand afgeskop met die hou van die gholfklub se “perdeveiling” waar alle spelers opgeveil word.

Een van die streek se grootste toernooie op die gholfkalender, die jaarlikse Hanglip 54-toernooi, word vanaf 12 tot 14 Julie vir die 25ste agtereenvolgende jaar deur die Soutpansberg Gholfklub in Louis Trichard aangebied.

Vanjaar se kompetisie sal weer ’n vol veld van 128 spelers lok met die fokus wat weereens op besoekende spelers sal wees.

Meer as 50% van die veld bestaan uit besoekers.

Die nou reeds bekende “Klerksdorp groep” sal weer getrou vanjaar se toernooi ondersteun met ‘n totaal van 36 spelers.

Daar is ook spelers van verskeie ander klubs uit verskeie provinsies, uitsluitend spelers vanaf onder meer Pretoria, Nelspruit en Lydenburg.

Hoe die toernooi werk is dat spelers in spanne van twee elke dag in ’n beterbal Stableford-kompetisie meeding.

Elke dag is daar dus twee wenners. Die algehele wenner is egter die speler wat die beste individuele Hennie Anderson vanaf Klerksdorp, wat verlede jaar saam met Piet Chauke die gesogte Hanglip Stableford-telling oor al 54-toernooi gewen het, sal vanjaar weer hier wees om sy titel te verdedig.
