What to wear this Season It feels like we only just wrapped our heads around the trends of winter wear, and now that summer is fast approaching, fashion trends are changing again. So, we took it upon ourselves to converse with the likes of beautiful Australian brands Zokky and Tengdahl on what we should wear for the Summer season.
We spoke to Zokky Novak, the Designer and Director of Melbourne fashion label Zokky, on what she believes women should be wearing this season, enlightening us about the bright block colours we’ve seen on the runways of late. ‘Bold colours never go out of fashion [but] they should be reserved for accessories’. While Julie Tengdahl, the CEO of Brisbane fashion label Tengdahl says flower colours such as orchard pinks, cherry pinks and whites are trending this season as well as earth-like colours (and we’re here for it!). She says a big trend that emerged from COVID-19 was slow fashion. Because of the pandemic this trend has been heightened and includes buying from local women in the industry and supporting sustainability, as well as appreciating artistic fabrics and artisan. Julie recognises this as a positive effect from the virus stating that the approach to sustainable fashion is necessary and ‘things need to slow down’.
