Parallel World
Commuter Rush
To renew oneself mentally and physically, I created a kind of parallel world alongside of the passageway to the ticket gates in Kawaramachi Station. In train stations, people may find it hard to have a feeling of their own reality because of their everyday routine. I thought that people can spend more fulfilling days when knowing themselves objectively.

When walking along the ramp, one would find someone's image projected by light from a gap in between the ramp. The shadow seems to be one of his own. The open space in the center of the ramp is a contrast to the actual world in terms of "curve and straight lines," "silence and noise," "darkness and light". It is designed to emphasize the person himself in this space.
