Together we make a difference Volunteering Volunteering has always been at the centre of our service provision; encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with their local community.
Over the years, the team has used a variety of methods to publicise opportuni es and act as a broker for people who are unsure what would be right for them. From paper copies in libraries to www.do-it.org on the internet, from a ending events such as the Mela to promo on on Solent TV and Unity 101 Radio.
At least 10,000 volunteers have come through the service and been placed with local groups, the team hopes to recruit many more.
One of the key ways for chari es to keep their volunteers is to make them feel appreciated and for over 25 years One Community has held celebratory events with local Mayors during Volunteers’ Week to ensure they hear the most important words:-
