One Community provides a range of Voluntary Sector Support, Community Development, Care, Information and Transport services

We would like to hear from people willing to help get the scheme started (by providing ideas, delivering leaflets, doing some administration etc) as well as gardeners and people with gardens.

Do you yearn to grow your own fruit but have no garden?

We are interested in growing food and encouraging others to do so.

We are looking for people who would like to get involved in sharing a garden

What are the benefits?

You could be someone who can’t manage their vegetable patch any longer, or just doesn’t have the time.

Garden owners:

Maybe you’d like to have a vegetable patch in your garden but don’t know how to get started.

Better health through a share of any fresh fruit and vegetables grown.

You could be someone who lives in a flat with no garden but would love to grow your own vegetables and fruit.

Maybe your garden is too small and you would like to have more space to grow your own food.

There are only a few allotment sites in Eastleigh and a long waiting list.

How does it work?

We hope that a garden share scheme, bringing together willing growers with garden owners keen to make their gardens more productive will help resolve the need for more allotments.

When we have a reasonable match we will introduce you.

We gather the names of people who have gardens and people to garden and match them up.

Then one person helps the other with their vegetable patch and they share any vegetables grown.

A small introduction fee is charged, insurance may also be necessary.
