Basingstoke Voluntary Action
Showcasing Community Life in Eastleigh
Fifty exhibitors set up their stalls at The Point in Eastleigh on Sunday 28 January in an Community extravaganza of community Action Fareham activity. The Community Showcase event, organised by Community First New One Community, provided a Forest feast for the eye as well as cake Gosport from the Women’s Institute, Voluntary and a programme of Action entertainment from Indian Hart Voluntary dancers, community choirs, Action youth theatre and a ukulele One orchestra. The Stroke Association offered blood pressure testing and local Community organisations provided masses of information, on health, finances, bereavement Rushmoor … and much, much more. Voluntary There was a real buzz to the event, with around 600 visitors and so much Services going on. Organiser, Charlotte Walker from One Community’s Voluntary Sector Test Valley Support Team, says, “There’s no Community better opportunity for local people to Services find out what’s going on in the Gosport Employment Borough of Eastleigh, whether you’re & Skills Fair—p2 looking for a club to join, a Wellbeing Day in volunteering role, or services to Hart—p2 support a relative.
