Meet chloe In many ways, Chloe Mundee is much like any other 15-year-old. She enjoys playing the guitar, listening to music and voraciously reads the latest teen fiction.

But when she finishes school each day, Chloe doesn’t have the luxury of hanging out with her friends in Eastleigh.

Chloe spends her evenings caring for her mother, Jo, who was injured in a car crash 18 years ago, and also suffers from facet joint disease (a degenerative spinal disorder), fibromyalgia and diabetes. Chloe’s father Stuart is in the Army and has to work away from home during the week, leaving Chloe to support Mum, cook, clean and run the household.

Chloe’s cheerful and confident demeanour hides the fact that she willingly shoulders burdens that most of her peers won’t face until they leave home. Chloe has been a part of Eastleigh Young Carers for almost 4 years. Since joining the project Chloe’s confidence has soared and she is able to shed her responsibilities on respite activities with other young carers.

Chloe has recently undertaken a massive challenge in raising £493.75 for Eastleigh Young Carers. Chloe and her dad cycled around the New Forest covering 75 miles .
