Fareham Area Active Blind (FAAB)
Wessex Cancer Charity Shop, Portchester
Fareham Area Active Blind is a self-help group for the visually impaired. The group meets twice a month in the afternoon in Fareham. They plan trips, meals out, guest speakers, evening social meet ups, etc. They have a couple of current volunteering vacancies: Treasurer: someone to act as treasurer, providing support in relation to the group’s finances. A computer user who is familiar with Excel, Outlook and has at least basic knowledge of book keeping. Secretary: someone to take minutes and help with the general administration of Fareham Area Active Blind. A computer user who is familiar with Word and Outlook. Ideally someone who has experience of note taking and producing minutes.
Open Day: Come along to the shop, 10.30am-12 noon, on Tuesday 23 May to find out more details about volunteering there Friendly, proactive volunteers who enjoy working as part of a team are needed in the Wessex Cancer Charity Shop, Portchester. The role is a varied one and includes serving customers, operating the till, sorting stock and donations, steaming and preparing goods for sale. This is a great opportunity to up-skill, meet new people and raise awareness of the cause. The charity shop, at the centre of the community, raises vital funds and helps provide cancer care and support services to people living with cancer. You will become part of a valued team helping to make a difference to many people affected by cancer. In return you will receive training and support. This role is very flexible and you can volunteer for as little as two hours a
