Underwater fashion photography poses special challenges for the photographer because it requires a combination of two skills, underwater photography and fashion photography. A very special skill is required of the model who poses underwater holding her breath, and receiving air from a regulator every few seconds, supplied by a safety diver inbetween shots. The model is weighed down with weights, which requires a lot of self confidence on the part of the model. Shai, the model in this series is an experienced scuba diving instructor. The shoot was done in the Red Sea, Eilat, and some of the photos were taken at a depth of 20 meters.

About Sheila Vand
Alexa Meade has received international acclaim for inventing a technique for painting on the surfaces of objects, people, and architectural spaces so as to optically compress 3D space into a 2D plane.
heila Vand is an LA-based actor and performance S artist whose work explores the malleability of perception through abstractions in form and context. Her last piece Sneaky Nietzsche, a theatrical live music experiment, was a performance-based installation mounted at the LA County Museum of Art. It was described by the Los Angeles Times as “stepping into a living, changing art piece” and by the LA Weekly as an "all-encompassing, sensory overload. In a good way." Before that, Sheila mounted Portrait of the Architect in Ruins, a theatrical blend of film, dance, animation and water, at The Los Angeles Theatre Center. Acting highlights include performing on Broadway alongside Robin Williams and starring in Ben Affleck's ARGO. Upcoming projects include Body Thoughts, a series of seven filmed self-portraits exploring the JamesLange theory on emotion and A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, an Iranian Vampire Western movie produced by Elijah Wood.
Alexa has exhibited her art at The Saatchi Gallery in London, Postmasters Gallery in New York City, Galerie Ivo Kamm in Zurich, and the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. Alexa has been featured on PBS, CNN,The London Telegraph, The Guardian, USA Today, Der Spiegel, The Washington Post, La Repubblica, NY Arts Magazine, American Contemporary Art Magazine, Art Info, Juxtapoz Magazine, Italian Elle Magazine, Slate Magazine, Wired Magazine, and Nylon Magazine. Alexa Meade and Sheila Vand first came together in March 2012 in the spirit of artistic playtime and collaborated on a range of concepts spanning diverse media. “MILK: what will you make of me?” is their first joint release. They exhibited a live performance and limited edition photographic prints from MILK at Galerie Ivo Kamm in Zurich, Switzerland in September 2012.

EFJ, Vibrant and youthful, the art and fashion of Elise Francesca reflect's her unique style and interpretation of the meaning of youth. Influenced by 60’s & 70’s art, fashion, and music, Francesca's paintings convey a sense of vivaciousness and embrace a lively vigorous spirit. Predominately working with acrylic on canvas, Francesca uses abstract shapes and cropped images of the natural world, vivid colors, flowing brush strokes, and bold organic shapes to convey her ideas. Her titles are influenced by old song titles or lyrics Francesca felt helped to inspire young people. Francesca's use of contrasting colors, juxtaposition of bold complementary colors, and dynamic use of diagonal compositions gives each work a feeling of excitement and fluidity. The same qualities mirror those of the always evolving, curious, and changing nature of today’s youth. Francesca wanted everyone to be able to take home a piece of art, in the form of fashion. That was when the hand-painted tote bag was born. Using the same vibrance used on canvas, the brand FRANCESCA JOY developed. A collection of tote bags, and wristlets, all resort inspired, where the brand grew in Palm Beach, Florida. Almost 3 years later, Francesca launched a line of textiles, which gave resort lovers a new shoe to obsess over. The hempsilk blend Navajo sandal. Francesca offered an exotic approach to the original. This concept followed as she launched a line of men's ties- they took the ordinary and made them extroadinary, with the touch of original texitles and brush strokes in every print. FRANCESCA JOY will launch a Sorority Collection for students at Universities/Colleges in the USA. She hopes to visit Barcelona someday soon, and share her world of color and design with you.
