THE MUSIC CLASS FROM DAILY LIFE
01 Project One
2018
“ Sound Lab steps out the academic music education, by combining 3D printing with hardware from daily life, creating a media to connect daily life sounds to melody. Holding workshops allows children to explore the fun of sounds, igniting their imagination for sounds and music even create their ver y own instruments.
S ound
Children
Explore
CONCEPT Ever yone feels different about the sound, but when I think of the music lesson in my childhood, everyone is blowing the same sound with the same instrument. What if the music learning experience could be free like general art classes as we can enjoy the freedom to explore potentials of sounds, maybe it could be a better way to ignite children’s imagination.
REDEFINE INSTRUMENTS Explore the possibilities of various sounds
In nowadys life, people has a limited imagination for sounds like EDM or classic music, they tend to pursue the dazing visual stimulations instead of music itself. Thus we hope to utilise daily objects to spark curiosity for music, a different music class to boost children’s imagination for sounds.
Electronic instruments lack the direct interaction between the user and the instrument itself. For traditional musical instruments, you must learn through high thresholds and practice for a long time. How to directly interact with artifacts to find unique sounds, and easily achieve the three elements of rhythm, melody and timbre, so that the sound of artifacts has more possibilities.
INSTRUMENTS RESEARCH
The state of the air that causes vibration in the pipe iscalled the air column, the vibration of the string, andthe ends are sections. The middle is the belly. Wind music, the middle is the knot, the ends are the belly.

"Hardware from daily life" is an artifact that ever yone often sees and is close to life. Through the size, operation and material diversity of the public regulations, it is suitable as a teaching tool for exploring sound.

CONCEPT Compar ing to life care, you should care more about the seniors' mental health. MR. TOUGH is a set of musical enter tainment produc ts for the senior. With integrated sof t ware and hardware, it is easy to get star ted for the senior and provides a platfor m for them to play in a band while improving their mental health and living a wonder ful life.
ANALYSIS & RESEARCH “ Situations about the elders face many in their later life
Looking at our parents they are going to be getting older and older in ten years. Most of them are physical healthy when they start their retired life, but they lose the challenge from work, they seem to lose their passion for lives. This gradually leads to their unhealthy of mental. We believe that good "mental health" can delay aging .

BREAK Elder Only
So we want to use music to change the lives of the elderly.I found that aging is actually just appearance. in fact, they have a great longing for life as we are, want tr y want play. We hope to have more interesting choices for seniors, and want to cross the different generations with such a conflicting design, also can break the established impression of the younger generation on the dull and serious of the elderly. Use a design which can bring laughter to break age and generation,Let generations can talk and communicate with each other.

MUSIC SOCIAL IN TAIWAN Lots of seniors people play karaoke together. It is the most popular activities among seniors. Music is more than a hobby for them.Playing music helps the elders better deal with their daily situations and helps their mental health. Therefore, we considered playing music a potential of development.

FRUSTRATION “ WHAT IS NEEDED BY MODERN SENIORS? ” We found that many elders like karaoke because they loved music. However, when talked about playing instruments, they all said “i can’t do that”.Most of them think instruments are top difficult to learn. It is a pity for so many elders who are interested in playing music.
