Clowning Around With Pam Taylor
Unlike the clowns you see peering out from the grates of the street gutters, Pam Taylor is a very nice clown. There are a lot of hobbies out there and “clowning” is one of the most unique. Pam, and her husband Bobby, have been residents of TGO for only a few years, but she has already made an impact with her clown class she teaches each Thursday at the TGO Library. Her goal is to just make people happy and painting clown faces, teaching you how to juggle and turning balloons into animals is her method. Pam has lots of great ideas and is looking for our TGO locals to join her Clown Alley. Read more on page 18
Jetty Park - A Close Getaway With Lots to See
Most TGO RVers have alredy been out to Jetty Park and know that it is an easy and close place to go camping, enjoy the beach, the ocean and take in a rocket launch. You also know how important it is to make reservations. Jetty Park is fairly busy year-round, so if this is your first trip, you’ll want to make sure to go online and make those reservations early. It is also a popular spot for watching cruise ships arriving and into departing from Port Canaveral, plus you might see an occasional submarine sighting. This 45-acre public park is one of the most popular attractions on the Space Coast. Book it early! Continued on page 60

Manager’s Corner July 22, 2022 Dear TGO Community, If you’re here now at TGO, then this weekend is the right time to stock up on groceries, dust off your favorite cook book, and plan out some home-cooked meals. Next week the Blue Heron will close for five days, Monday, July 25 – Friday, July 29 at 4:00 pm, while we install a new walk-in cooler in the kitchen. This short break will give Karan and the Blue Heron team a chance to do some deep cleaning and complete a few facilities projects which are difficult to do when we’re open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you all for your patience during this closure, and we look forward to serving you again soon. Next Tuesday I’m looking forward to having some fun with Mike O’Neal and our CSA lawn crew. This is the day I’m scheduled to put on my yellow safety shirt, wear my work boots and gloves, and spend a full day mowing grass with our lawn crew. Every year the lawn crew enjoys running circles around me while I try my best to keep up with them. This is one special way I can show my appreciation to this dedicated crew who labor in this summer heat to keep our lawns manicured. This work day includes a special lunch for the crew, and boy, can they eat! Our summer improvement projects continue to move forward at different speeds. This week our Manor pool contractor is scheduled to plaster the pool surface. Plastering is a big job and requires all hands-on-deck. I’ve given the contractor permission to begin at 3:00 am because they must do the entire pool at one time, and the plaster must have time to dry before the afternoon rainstorms arrive. This is an exciting week for the CSA front office staff. Donna, Sabrina and Carmella move into their new office space this week. We hope to have them settled into their new offices by Friday in order to move into Phase Two of our office renovations. Thank you for your patience and pardon our dust during this office transition time. During the next several weeks, it will be easiest to get service by calling or emailing the office. Facilities projects are also in full-gear. Next week we expect delivery of our new CSA irrigation pump system. This is an important upgrade to our community as our current irrigation pumps are now failing us. The irrigation team will not work on any current irrigation work orders until after the new pump is installed. Jordan Bullard and his utilities team worked to repair an underground potable water leak at south Twin Lakes where it intersects with Plantation Drive. This particular repair was able to be done “under pressure” so no one had to go without water. I was reminded about what makes TGO special on Monday of this week. I brought my mom and my three adult sisters to the Blue Heron following a family meeting with an attorney to do mom’s estate planning. I introduced mom to a large table of homeowners in the Café who were enjoying lunch. Everyone was so kind to my mom and they treated her like part of their TGO family. Those short interactions cheered mom up and made her smile after a difficult morning meeting. Maureen was our server, and she brought us out some delicious, fresh food. Along the way, Maureen made my mom laugh on several occasions, and after our meal was over, we walked out of the Blue Heron full and happy. What makes TGO special are our people, who are so warm and kind! Sincerely,
Billy Specht CSA Manager

- Meet The Staff
Susie Boyd was born and raised in San Diego, CA and grew up loving everything outdoors, especially if it concerned water. She loved swimming, water skiing, surfing, snow skiing, and especially jet skiing. Her husband was a salesman and this prompted them to live in many different places over the years, including Washington state, Indiana, Branson, MO, and Vero Beach. In 2012, they came to The Great Outdoors for a month’s vacation, fell in love with this area, and decided to buy a place on Coach Club where she lives to this day with Shadow, her Poodle/Wheaton Terrier mix.
Jeff Smutek has lived in TGO for seven years and has worked at the Pro Shop since June 2021. Previously, Jeff worked in real estate in Cleveland, OH, his hometown. He is married to Stephanie, and between the two of them, they have five children and three grandchildren. He enjoys golfing, swimming, and riding bicycles. Jeff is considered the utility man at the Pro Shop in that he works both inside the Pro Shop and outside at the cart barn, doing whatever is needed. Jeff is a great guy so don’t hesitate introducing yourself to him and talk about golf.
The Golf Pro Shop has it all! If you’re looking for new clubs, a golf bag, logoed apparel, and hats, sunglasses, gift certificates and more, make sure to stop by, take a look around, and say hi to our friendly staff.

AED Basics (Automated External Defibrillator) Have Someone Call 9-1-1 While You Operate AED
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that diagnoses incorrect heart rhythm patterns that could potentially be life threatening. The device treats the condition with electrical shocks. AED use requires minimal training because an electronic voice prompts the user through each step. If you are helping a person who collapsed and you’re unsure if a heart attack is the reason, don’t hesitate to use the AED. Every minute counts. The device determines if the patient needs an electrical shock or not. Simply place the AED pads on the patient’s bare skin, one on the right upper chest and the other on their lower left side. No one else should be touching the patient because false readings could result. The AED will advise you, the device operator, what to do next. TGO has seven AEDs located at CSA buildings. Guide to Living With Alligators in TGO
There are 38 Lakes in The Great Outdoors and all of them are home to alligators. Please keep these points in mind to be safe when alligators could be nearby: • It is illegal to feed, taunt or harass an alligator. • Do not swim or wade in any of our lakes. • Do not walk near the shorelines and do not walk your pets near shoreline. • Do not allow your pets to swim, exercise or drink in or near our lakes. • While alligators can be active at any time, they are most active between dusk and dawn and move during the night to different water sources. • Please give our alligators the respect and space they deserve. • For your safety, as well as the safety of your family and pets.
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE! If you have an issue with an alligator, please call: Sandy Juba at 321-543-0502 or Betty Salter at 321-223-8073 or Nancy Clark at 321-292-1434. These ladies are experienced in dealing with TGO wildlife.
Community Information & Notices CSA Yard Debris Pick-Up Rules
The CSA crew picks up organic yard debris at least once per week. Tree trimmings should be cut down to a maximum of 4 feet long, weigh less than 50 pounds, and be stacked uniformly at the curb. Loose material such as pine needles, leaves and small twigs must be collected in untied plastic bags or open containers. The CSA will not pick up sod, dirt, tree stumps, construction material (e.g., concrete, wood, drywall, metal), chemicals (e.g., paint, oil), major appliances, or tires. DO NOT bring these items to the CSA Maintenance Yard yourself. They may be dropped off, without charge, at the Brevard County Mockingbird Mulching Facility (321-264-5009) on South Street (SR405). Go past the Lowe’s SR405 entrance then turn LEFT at the first traffic signal. Most other waste items such as carpet, porcelain plumbing fixtures, etc. that are not mentioned above can be dropped off at the Brevard County Transfer Station (321-264-5048) that is also on South Street (SR405), but 0.5 mile past Lowe’s on the same side of the street. Please do not allow pets to urinate on trash or debris. The crew has to pick this up!
CSA Trash Pick Up Rules
The CSA crew picks up household trash 364 days of the year (off for Christmas). You’ll see them in a big truck pulling one or more green hoppers behind it. The guy crouching on the hopper grabs your trash bag as they pass by. To make the collection process efficient, please follow these important rules: • Break down all boxes and put all packing material in a closed bag. • Close all trash bags with twist ties or the integrated drawstrings that some trash bags have. • Tie bags together if they are all light in weight. • Place trash within 1 foot of the road so that it’s within easy reach. • Dispose of your pet’s waste inside the closed trash bag. • Put trash out at the curb by 10:00 am - Pick-up time varies within the park. • Do not mix household trash with organic yard debris or construction materials. • Do not put trash out at night because by morning it will have been scattered by wild animals. • Also be aware that if you place your trash out on the street too early, the vultures think you have prepared them a sack lunch - and the result is not always pretty!
Clearing Vegetation on CSA Property
Our Declaration of Covenants states that “No CSA land may be cleared of any vegetation without prior written permission from the Board of Directors or its designee. Unauthorized clearing of CSA property will result in a hearing, with possible fines and ordered replanting.” This only makes sense, as you would not cut vegetation on someone else’s property without permission first. In order to track this better, we will require anyone seeking permission to cut vegetation on CSA property to fill out an ARC permit. An approved permit must include the CSA manager’s signature, and a copy of the permit will be filed in your ARC file for documentation purposes.
Service Animal Rules
According to Florida Statues under Social Welfare, Chapter 413, Section 08, Paragraph D - “Service Animal” means an animal that is trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The tasks may include, but are not limited to, guiding a person who is visually impaired or blind, alerting a person who is deaf or hard of hearing, pulling a wheelchair, assisting with mobility or balance, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, retrieving objects, or performing other special tasks. A service animal is not a pet. Only Service Animals are allowed in TGO buildings, no other animals are permitted. Please obey the signs.

Clowning Around With Pam Taylor
P
am was working as a civilian Family Support Division Chief on an Army base in Neu-Ulm, Germany when she first dressed up like a clown, face make-up and all. It was a Halloween party and she figured, “Who doesn’t like a clown?” Well... there was an actual former Ringling clown in attendance and she immediately caught his attention. It was then that she learned how a real clown face should look and how all clown faces have their own identity. She received some great advice and from there she fell in love with being a clown. Pam Taylor and her husband, Bobby, discovered TGO about three years ago. They were having their motor home serviced at the Newmar factory in Indiana when they met a TGO couple who suggested they should come visit “our” park. They came, fell in love with TGO, purchased a place on Coach Club and after only a few months, decided they wanted to purchase a home. They now live on Plantation Drive and love everything TGO has to offer. Pam and Bobby’s previous home was in Virginia and they became full-time RVers about five years before they settled down on Plantation. Their journeys took them to nearly every contiguous state in the union, with the exception of California, Oregon and Washington. During their travels they work camped and Pam would teach face painting, juggling and other activities
18
to the kids in the camps. They also work camped at Ordway Swisher, a biological station that is a research, teaching, and extension facility of the University of Florida where Bobby had studied the Gopher Tortoise and received his Ph.D. in Biology. They both really enjoy the outdoors and like to spend their time hiking, biking and golfing. Bobby also likes to run marathons, although Pam doesn’t appear too keen about him doing that any more. (Hint!) While living in Virginia, Pam worked as a real estate agent and, while watching a St. Patrick’s parade, saw a group of clowns. She learned they had a local clown alley, so she and her daughter decided to take classes to become clowns. They went to conventions, learned to juggle, paint faces and make balloon animals. Pam also knows a few magic tricks and would occasionally hire on to entertain for small parties.
The clown alley in a circus is a backstage area where clowns change into their costumes and apply makeup. Generally, the clowns’ personal props, costumes, and other items are stored in this area as well. Clown alley was usually very close to the Big Top tents, along the side like an alley, so the clowns could get in and out quickly. If the circus show had some problem with a performance, the ringmaster could yell out “Clowns Allez” meaning “Clowns Go!” Today, most clowns do not use tents for dressing and make up, as travel trailers or motor homes are used. The term has also come to mean any professional grouping of clowns, in general, regardless of whether or not they are affiliated with a circus or carnival. Today, there are hundreds of clown alleys across America. The Villages have their own clown alley with about 150 members. Pam has recently started the TGO Clown Alley where she shows residents how to create a face, do face painting, dress up like clowns, juggle, make balloon animals, etc. They meet in the library every Thursday at 3:00 pm. Call her at 571-217-0444 if you are interested. “We want to get more people involved with our TGO Alley,” says Pam. “It would be great to go to retirement centers, or hospitals to make people happy. We’re also looking for residents interested in doing some skit script writing and some seamstresses to help make clown outfits.” Pam also has ideas for entering the Titusville Christmas and TGO Golf Cart parades. If you have the time, give her a call, you’ll quickly learn Pam is pretty serious about clowning around.
Above: Peter Maselli entertains by juggling pins or balls or those twirly plates on a stick. Right: Dennis Lecik is a world-class photographer who enjoys working with people and making them laugh. Far right: Pam practices creating her clown face at a recent class.

Smoke Alarms in TGO by Ed Brown Smoke Alarms are your second line of defense against fire in your TGO home. Of course, the first line is maintaining a Firewise Property outside the house. There are a number of preventative measures you can take to mitigate WILDFIRE on the outside and to keep it outside. This Fire Prevention takes many forms, all past subjects of this column: “Lean, Clean & Green Landscaping” around structures, the “30 foot Defensible Zone” around your home, “Fireproof Mulch” in plant beds, “Clean Roofs and Down Spouts” and other defensive priorities. At night, with the family asleep, no one notices the slight smell of smoke in the air. The cause could be an electrical short circuit caused by a mouse chewing the wiring. (Ask your Nature Center staff! It happened!) Regardless, your home SMOKE ALARM will know and will alert the household to the danger.
Smoke Alarm Tips: 1. Install Smoke Alarms in every bedroom. They should be outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home. 2. Large homes may need extra smoke alarms. 3. It is best to use interconnected smoke alarms. When one sounds, they all sound. 4. Test all smoke alarms at least once a month. Change batteries once a year. 5. Some smoke alarms alert for Carbon Monoxide as well. 6. Smoke alarms should be installed on the ceiling or high on the wall (heat and smoke rise). 7. Keep smoke alarms away from the kitchen to reduce false alarms from cooking. They should be installed at least 10 feet from the stove. 8. Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old. 9. People with a hearing deficit can use special alarms. These alarms have strobe lights and bed shakers. 10. Closed doors may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire. 11. If you suspect a fire is behind a closed door, feel the door surface with the back of your hand. If it’s too hot to touch, keep the door closed until charged hose lines and protected firefighters are in place. Smoke Detectors are a key part of a HOME FIRE ESCAPE PLAN and a solid Second Line of Defense against home fires for you and your family!

The Cattle Egret
- By Betty Salter
The Cattle Egret is an avian success story. They started out in Africa and managed to expand their range around the world, showing up in Florida, according to the Audubon Society, in 1952. This small member of the wading bird family is not competing with other egrets and herons for food since it chooses to follow cattle or other animals of the grasslands to snatch the insects these brush beaters scare up. Though they have invaded our ecosystems, they do not seem to have displaced other species, but they may be competing for space in the colonial nesting places where several different species will nest and roost together. They are very adaptable. They will follow along behind mowers, walk across hedges or even visit dumps to pick through human garbage. As breeding season approaches, they go through significant changes, starting as a white bird with yellow/ orangish beak and greenish legs. Slowly golden feathers appear on its head neck and back, the beak turns red with an orange tip, the fleshy area around the eye turns purple and the legs a vibrant red. The male brings sticks to his mate who builds the nest. Both parents incubate the eggs and care for the young, who can start to climb out of nest at three weeks.
36
Adults have been known to take in wandering juveniles if they are less than 14 days old. In two months’ time the young become independent. Cattle Egret Fun Facts: Cattle Egrets follow large animals or machines and eat invertebrates stirred up from the ground. They will fly toward smoke from long distances, to catch insects fleeing a fire. The Cattle Egret has a broad and flexible diet that occasionally includes other birds. In the Dry Tortugas off the coast of Florida, migrating Cattle Egrets have been seen hunting migrating warblers. The oldest Cattle Egret on record was at least 17 years old when it was captured and released in Pennsylvania in 1979. It had been banded in Maryland in 1962. Carnivore: Grasshoppers, crickets, spiders Litter Size: 3-4 eggs Weight: 9.5-18.1 oz. Heights: 18-22 in. Main Threats: Predators Conservation Status: Least Concern

Feature articles focusing on TGO resident photographers - by Jim Brubaker
L
ast night I was on the phone with Spectrum and they wanted me to take a short survey at the end of our conversation - just answer a few questions so they can provide even better service in the future. That got me to thinking. At the end of this article, I am going to ask you a few questions. Be patient, I have stories of TGO photographers waiting in the wings for future articles in Snap-Shot. A month ago I wrote Snap-Shot from Drummond Island, Michigan. Since then, I have experienced family camping in New Hampshire, biking in New Jersey, and helping a granddaughter set up an apartment for her beginning of a new career in New York City.
Your Cell Phone and Artificial Intellegence
not need that intelligence for success. Success is measured by what is called “artificial intelligence.” That intelligence is in the tiny digital computer inside our phone, iPad, and laptop. Today, photography is not just those slide shows. Twenty-four hours a day on hundreds of channels we see photographs. This Happenings is filled with photos - each telling a story or selling us stuff. All the junk mail we receive is filled with photographs. Your cell phones are filled with digital images. We cannot escape photos. Within the next five minutes, count how many photos you see. Photos are our very lives. Did you know that busy intersections, like the one out here under I-95, are controlled by cameras? Cameras look at you and all those other cars sitting in line and send data to little computers that control when to turn lights red and green. Did you know our National Park System installs cameras on railroad tracks to study how long it takes a Grizzly Bear to waddle off the track so they can make loud noises far enough ahead of the train to scare the bear off the track? Did you know most photos you see are not really real? With the advent of photoshop you never really know how real a photo is. People and objects can be added and the color altered to help drive home a point.
Along the way, I took 1,726 photographs. Because I took so many photographs, and because I wrote this article, you probably think I am a photographer. Surprise, I do not consider myself to be a photographer. I just let the camera be the photographer. You see, photography is not like the old days - when I was young. In those days you had a big camera. You sent the film away to get photos back on a glossy piece of paper. Maybe you got a 35mm slide which you slid into a projector machine. Then you took all the pictures off the wall, turned off the lights, and began your moment of glory - your slide show. Most of the relatives were sitting around sleeping, drinking too much wine and whisky, or just plain getting bored with you droning on about how you captured that shot. Do you remember those days? Oh, I forgot to mention that 50% of the photos you got back were over-exposed or almost black, way under-exposed. That 50% you just stuck back in the mailing envelope. Guess what? They are still up in the attic, never to be seen again until the kids clean up your house after you’re no longer around! To reduce the 50% bad photos, our understanding of shutter speed and aperture was sort of the measurement More than just a cell phone, Apple’s iPhone has become of our intelligence. Nowadays, with the cell phone, we do one of the most popular cameras in the world.
48
Here is my point. Technology has removed the need for human intelligence. But, on the other hand, it has opened up so many doors for new human skills to make photography a modern fun sport. Yes, golf balls and clubs have had technological advances, material for the rug-hookers have many more shades, the carpet on the bocci ball court has been improved, and pickleballs are computer designed - but technology has not changed any sport or hobbie the way it has changed photography. Did you know the DSLR camera (digital single-lens reflex) may soon go the way of the film camera? Canon has just announced that it will design no new DSLRs. The future is mirrorless. Did you know the iPhone can be set to take three seconds of photos every time you snap a photograph? Then you can tell it to make up a single photo that the cell phone’s brain thinks is great. If you do not like the one it made, do you know you can look at each one of those three seconds of photos and select the one you want? Maybe Aunt Nelly just started to wave at you. Did you know you can turn several three second snapshots into an action-packed short movie? Do you know how to remove that ex-son-in-law from the family photo or remove the spilled soup from Grandpa’s shirt, or remove the hair sticking out of Jim’s nose? Do you know how to compose a photo so that everyone says, “WOW, what a shot?” Or clear up the fuzziness of that otherwise perfect shot? How about blurring the background so that only the granddaughter’s beautiful face is in sharp focus? The technology of photography has opened up all these opportunities and so many more - it is not like the old days. Think about sharing. It is not just moments of glory with your slide show in the living room. You can share with millions or limit your online sharing to only those you choose.
Which photo is real? Left, right or both?
The TGO Photo Club Do you know you can share your photos with the TGO Photo Club right here and have others show you theirs your moment of glory where nobody sleeps or drinks too much? I created the TGO Photo Club over the last 15 years and turned it over to Dave Spahn a year ago He is doing a great job with what I gave him. Check out their activities here in The Happenings. But, I feel I did a very poor job in being able to tell Dave what you folks want the club to do for you. How to make it exciting and to help you capitalize on those new doors that technology has opened. So, would you please help me? Just like the Spectrum man said - Give us a moment and answer at least one of these survey items. 1. Do you want the club to meet all year long and have more social events? 2. Do you want to learn how to better compose photos? 3. Do you want to learn how to fix the photo right on the phone? 4. Do you want to learn photo software and camera settings? 5. Do you want to learn more about sharing your photos online? 6. If you have any ideas to help make our Photo Club better, please let us know. We welcome all input. E-mail jimbrubaker@earthlink or text message to 321-693-0597 or text Dave Spahn at 207-468-6760. See the Photo Club information in the activities section in this Happenings on page 24.

“We were so lucky to find Aleicia. She went out of her way to make sure the process was smooth and that everything was clear to us. We would highly recommend her and will definitely contact her in the future.”
“Aleicia Fragomeni is a professional and friendly sales agent. She is very approachable and would quickly respond to any of our questions. She kept our sign flyers full at all times. Aleicia always kept us informed of any updates by staying in contact with us. She anticipated what buyers may want to see and was proactive in providing information. “Jason was very responsive in helping us navigate this home purchase and working with the sellers. We had to verify that we could enlarge the RV opening by getting HOA approval before proceeding. He was patient and managed to get us all the information we needed during our home loan process, too. I would purchase or sell a home through Jason anytime.”
“We are completely satisfied with the way Jason Brown handled the details of our first conversation, the listing, open house Tuesday’s, the contract and the sale! Very professional in every way! We highly recommend this young man!” RANDY ELLIS These reviews and more can be found at: hp://www.realsasfied.com/Jason-Brown hp://www.realsasfied.com/Aleicia-Fragomeni

What your neighbors are saying... “Tom and Shelley are experts in the hearing field. they know what they are talking about and back up what they sell. Good product, excellent service, highly recommended.” – PS “My wife and I visited Contentment Hearing Care because of recommendations by others in our community. The facility environment was friendly, convenient, and inviting. Tom Contento, explained about hearing loss and why something should be done to improve hearing to prevent or lessen some of the side effects of continuing hearing impairment. A series of tests were performed to determine the nature and types of hearing loss and the results were thoroughly explained to us in layman's terms, which made it very easy to understand and to make decisions. We are extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend Contentment Hearing Care to others.” — GJ

Close to Home - Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral Jetty Park is a 45-acre public park at the east end of Port Canaveral, operated by the Canaveral Port Authority (CPA). It obviously gets its name from the long jetty that runs along and past the end of the park. It is also a good place to watch the ships leave as they pass through the canal and out into the Atlantic Ocean. The Park includes campgrounds, fishing pier, pristine beach with full-time year-round lifeguards, adjacent public boat ramps, restaurants and other visitor amenities. The park has also become a favorite location to watch rocket launches from nearby Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Any campsite at Jetty Park provides a prime view of the rocket launches. You can get an even better view from Jetty Park’s beach and fishing pier. If you are planning a trip to Jetty Park to specifically watch a launch, you should plan on getting to your site a day before the launch to avoid traffic and enjoy the area. Crewed launches, milestones, or launches with historic significance will have the largest turnout, resulting in heavy traffic in the hours before and right after launch. Of course, this is after you make a reservation for your trip. Reservations for parking passes and site spots are a MUST. Jetty Park is one of the most sought-after points of interest in Brevard County. With 45 acres at your fingertips there is a variety of activities available. Whether relaxing on the beach or a family reunion at one of the rentable pavilions, Jetty Park has something for everyone. Besides the 4.5-acre family beach with its designated areas for swimming and surfing (lifeguards on duty year-round), one of this park’s best-loved features is the 1,200-foot Malcolm E. McLouth Fishing Pier - open from 5 am to 11 pm, paved, lighted, equipped with fish-cleaning tables with running water and fully accessible to the physically challenged. Specially designed beach wheelchairs are available and provide access both to the beach and pier. A recently renovated and expanded building on the boardwalk houses an air-conditioned refreshment center and a bait and tackle shop. The beach has a vendor where everything can be rented including chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards, etc., so you don’t have to bother with dragging your own cumbersome chairs and umbrellas. Outdoor showers located on the boardwalks are always a welcome sight after a long day on the beach. The beaches have state of the art beach cleaning equipment to keep them in pristine condition for your enjoyment.
60
If you are looking for a place to have a family reunion or large gathering, Jetty Park has 12 small pavilions that can accommodate six to ten guests and two large pavilions that can handle 60 - 80 guests. All pavilions are equipped with grills and tables. Children and grandchildren will love you for having a picnic in this area of Jetty Park. The playground is complete with swings and a huge area for fun. Reservations for the pavilions are a must and all cars entering the park to attend your gathering must have a pre-purchased pass. Jetty Park also contains a 210-site campground with options from rustic tent areas to full RV hook-ups. The park also has eight cabins available to rent. Because of the campground’s unique location along the Atlantic Ocean and inside Port Canaveral, it’s not uncommon to see cruise ships arriving and departing, the above mentioned rocket launches, and wildlife and marine life. Facts you need to know If you are planning to visit Jetty Park • Jetty Park is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily • Parking is available at Jetty Park with a pre-purchased pass or annual pass. No credit card or cash transactions can take place at the entrance gate. All passes can be purchased online. • If you have a pre-purchased day pass for a specific date, you will be guaranteed entry into the park. It does not guarantee re-entry if the park is at capacity. If you are an annual pass holder, your entry is not guaranteed if park is at capacity. Staff monitors the number of cars in the park and will re-open when the park drops below capacity. • Pavilions are open during regular hours and require reservations. Reserve a pavilion online. • No pets allowed in the park. To purchase tickets go to www.portcanaveral.com/store • Select the type of pass you wish to purchase. Your passes will be emailed to you. Please print out or download your passes to a mobile device to be scanned at the booth. • Please call 321-783-7111 with any questions or for reservations.
