Everlasting Sounds 12th Datong Alumni Band Concert Visual Design
This design is for the annual concert of our high school wind band. “Twelve” represents a cycle, four seasons. The topic “Sheng-Sheng-Bu-Xi” means everlasting sound in Chinese. I use circle to create standard letterings, put lots of color to express the colorful four seasons. The 12th annual alumni gathering, as always, exhibit the same fanfare and excitement. From foundation set forth by the typography, the permutation of subsequent designs is split into various triangular color shapes.

Thirteenth Pages 13th DTAB Concert | Poster and Visual Design
The theme of the concert was “Thirteenth Page”. The idea originally came from the famous Shakespeare's play, “Twelfth Night”. Twelfth Night portrays a carnival world out of reality. In that night, everything does not need a reasonable explanation. Also, everything unreasonable could become real. What would it be like after the twelfth night? I tried to figure out the fantasy world at the Thirteenth Night, which is also the Thirteenth Page of our wind band. Based on the theme of traveling around the world, I paint the poster with pastel and exotic illustration with crayon.

Tuna Flakes Package Design The canned tuna must convey the freshness of the catch so the delicacy of the fish is captured when one first opens the can. Using ISHIGAKI Island image where it is known for its famous yellow fin tuna as a backdrop, a combination of tuna steak and Aquamarine Ocean induces a sense of culinary satisfaction for the diner.

Genmi Milk Package Design In the center of this LOGO, I use the Chinese charter for brown rice. The design is intriguing and fresh. The white and beige color scheme reminds customer of the refreshing brown rice drink and the texture of khaki shirts.

我 與 日 本 組 員 最 後 設 想 的 是 以 池 袋 為 終 點 的 兩 條 鐵 路:東 武 東 上 線、西 武 池 袋 線,兩 條 路 線 相 互 競 爭 的 駅 伝( 鐵路馬拉松之意)。以清新的插畫風表現: 「誰でも参加できる駅伝」 (大家都可以參加的鐵路馬拉松) 平常搭著電車的我們都是在生活中奮鬥的一員,跑起來、跑起來, 為了自己而跑,為了應援承載自己的那條線而跑起來!

Product Public Lock 2014-10 Nowadays people travel frequently. Luggages have become a heavy burden during trips. When travelers arrive a place, they always search for lockers to stow their luggages. If the traveler is traveling alone, luggages have to be kept beside him/her at all time even if during shopping or bathroom breaks.
Design Features Public Lock is an public design that allows passenger to store their luggage in a short period. By scanning ďŹ ngerprint to create a random recongnition ID, luggage can be safely locked.

Installed at airport public areas Comprehensively installed at the public corners of airport. Public Locks provide passengers for short-term luggage stowage. With this facility, passengers can free themselves from the burden of luggages while doing shopping, bathroom break, or a quick chow.
Register personal account by a simple press of button Considering that passengers are always busy and with lots of belongings, Public Lock provides an easy way of access. Simply press the golden button for three seconds, the system will instantly generate an account for the user.
Notice users via different light signals Public Lock requires no sophisocated interface. It uses the LED light on the ring to notice user about the the status of the device.

Ring lock will be flexibily returned to the original place.
Passenger may use the Public Lock in many situations. A exible rope can be attached to the luggage for a more remote access when sitting on a bench.
LOCK MECHANISM When the user inserts the ring lock to bottom, the lock will trigger the mechanism to lock the ring.
MODULE User can freely slide one or multiple locks to suitable situation. There are also ďŹ xtures that can hold the lock in place.
Idea Inspiration The inspiration of the form of Public Lock originally came from the coin insertion slot (shown right). Integrate this form language into my design would let people understand where this design is coming from.
Form Development The form had been revised for many times. In the initial stage, I use credit card as my pay medium. However, airport is international, and passengers requires fast and convenient way of storing luggage. So I use fingerprint scan as my recongnition medium.
Developing Process Initially, I made a lot of prototype to ensure the design language is correct for users. During discussion, we met professors from Kyushu University of Technology. After numerous revisement, luckly, Public Lock was selected as the Gold Award in UNEEC Applied Design Award.

Traditional Culture In traditional Taiwanese cuisine, we put a large amount of oil into the meal to enhance the flavor. However, the excessive seasoning usually cause disease like Cardiovascular Disease or Stroke.

Glutinous Oil Rice
Way to be healthy
Taiwanese mom usually cook a traditional dish called Glutinous oil rice when celebrating New Year. To filter the extra oil, they will put a small plate upside down at the bottom of pan, so the oil will flow into the space created by plate. This is a wise method originated from the past.
Design Development There is another common way in traditional food presentation to minimize the grease in the meal: a small dish is placed at the bottom of a bowl. The more caloric and oily drippings are collected at the bottom of this plate while the rich flavor is still maintained in the bowl on top.
Creating space to ďŹ lter the extra oil---How? During the developing process, my partner and I tried to use simple ways to drain the extra oil from dish. Water will flow down to the lower place. We use the image of ripples in the tableware.

Design Features
Using the height difference and the groove pattern of the "Ripple Plate", extra oil and the avorful sauce can be separated and drained toward high and low troughs of the plate respectively. The sauce may be used as condiment for dumplings, salad and other dishes.
