Fourteenth sunday in ordinary tiMe (Year B) 4/5 JULY 2015 Entrance Antiphon Your merciful love, O God, we have received in the midst of your temple. Your praise, O God, like your name, reaches the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with saving justice. At the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) meeting on Wednesday 1 July there was much discussion about the renewed parish website which goes live this weekend: www.ourladyhernebay.co.uk. Please take a look at it - any comments gratefully received. There was also a lot of discussion about the general spiritual life of the parish and what opportunities we might provide. At the International Retreat for Priests in Rome, attended by Fr Mark, Pope Francis spoke most urgently about the need for our parishes to be more open to the graces of the Holy Spirit so that the work of the New Evangelisation can progress. The essential starting point is prayer - all we plan and hope for must be rooted in prayer so we decided on the following: •
• •
An hour of adoration every weekday from 8.30-9.30am with a particular intention for each day (these intentions have been include on page 2 of the newsletter). The hour on Saturdays from 10-11am will continue. Every first Friday an evening Mass at 7pm followed by Prayer for Healing. On the third Sunday of every month at 6pm a time of shared prayer, song and scripture.
We are also going to have a parish mission next year (likely during Lent) as part of our response to the Pope’s call for a Jubilee Year of Mercy.
Children’s Liturgy This group is open to all children aged between 4-9 years (9.30am Mass).
